Mentioning: @Colin McCoireYing walked through the ancient stone corridor in a hurried pace, she had agreed with Beatrice and Raizel to meet at the library so they could look at their last assignments together, having a last minute revision before the end of the year. She could only talk for herself, but she had been too much busy with broom racing and her studies have been neglected for the last couple of weeks and now there was just too much to catch up if she wanted to keep her average grades. And this was something very important to maintain, if she wanted to continue doing what she really loved, without giving her parents an excuse to intervene and take her away from the place she started to call home.
The young Gryffindor crossed through the heavy and tall wooden doors and finally entered the library. She loved that place, if it was possible, she would spend much more time delighting in all those books and pieces of knowledge.
Before searching for a place to sit, Ying preferred to walk through the bookshelves and find one or two books that she thought would be helpful for their little study group. Astronomy was one of her favorite subjects and so it was easy to spot her favorite texts. Stretching towards the hard cover books, Ying caught what she needed and started to walk towards the working tables.
Many were already occupied, with the last exams just around the corner it was natural to find the library particularly crowded. Her dark brown eyes scanned the many faces trying to see if any of her friends had arrived yet, but instead, her eyes found someone she wasn't quite ready to find. As always, her heart started to bit a little out of its normal rhythm, in that strange and uncomfortable way, but this time it was also involved with some note of sadness. The last time she saw him, they were at the last spring ball and he left in such a disheartening way without her being able to understand what happened or having a chance to offer him her help.
Since then, he had avoided her, or so it seemed. Not her in specific, no, she had never been that important, but he seemed to be avoiding everyone. And his eyes, which almost always seemed to have a gleam of happiness and mischief, became dull and shadowed by some inner darkness that she could not understand, but which was painful to watch without being able to offer any comfort or a friendly word. It was painful to feel afraid to approach him, afraid that he would find an excuse to leave or that she was breaking an invisible but established personal limit.
So Ying just had to accept how things turned out. She sighed deeply, trying to get some of the weight off her chest and continued walking until she finally found an empty table. Sitting down on one of the chairs she placed her books and her satchel on top of it, beginning to arrange her ink bottle, quill and parchments. She opened the first book, a drawing of constellations was on that page but she wasn't able to read the text below it, her attention being pulled again towards the platinum-haired boy that seemed to be focused on his studies. What was he reading? Was he also studying for his upcoming exams? Ying left the book untouched, resting her elbow on the table and her chin in her hand as she let her thoughts get lost in so many questions she wanted to ask to Colin McCoire.

❂《 ⌜ May 10, 2024 ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔If it wasn’t her that asked, Fang Hui-Ying that is, then Raizel wouldn’t be walking towards the library right now. If it was anybody else, as long as they weren’t her close friends, she would’ve declined their invitation of… what? Revising assignments together? She’d definitely make an excuse, somewhere along the line of ‘I have duelling practice’ which isn’t true by the way. This Gryffindor had already dropped the sport, taking a break from it and already on her way in finding a new one to try, a change of pace as one might say. But would they even know that? As far as she knows, she could probably get away with that lie.
Then again… it’s not like people would want to ask her to come and join them for studying. She’s the laid-back student who doesn’t seem to care about her studies after all, always lazing around so who would even ask someone who doesn’t seem interested? Not like she minds though. After all, she does put effort into her studies. Where do they think those Os and Es came from? It’s just that she rarely lets people see that side of hers and she does love doing things at the last minute.
What subjects were they revising again? That she could not recall. She’ll just ask once she gets there and while she has finished everything with her being so free now that she doesn’t have any sports to practice for, it wouldn’t hurt to give those a final look with other people, especially when it’s one of her best friends. Luckily, Raizel’s horrible sense of direction didn’t kick in this time and sent her on an endless loop of trying to find the library. Once she was there, she quickly gave it a scan, trying to spot Ying among the group of students present there. When she saw her, she smiled and was about to walk towards her but then… that smile faded.
Ying looked troubled for some reasons. When was the last time she saw her looking like this? Summer Camp? When she got bludgered? In any case, it made her reluctant to approach, wondering if it was a bad time but it was her that invited them then maybe… something just happened? There was no use speculating things and so she just went in there. Once she was close, she gently placed a hand on the other Gryffindor’s shoulder before greeting her. “Hey. Already starting your studies?” she asked with a small smile before finding herself a seat nearby. “What’s up? You look troubled.”

Mentioning: @Colin McCoireIt was Friday, the 10th of May. The year was at its peak and almost coming to an end, which was the perfect time to throw out some more assignments to get some last minute marks, from a Professors point of view. As Prefect, Beatrice rarely ever struggled to keep up with all her studies, maintain an average of Outstanding marks in every class, Quidditch Training, attending to Adelaide and Patrols around the School. Some may find it all a lot and perhaps even overwhelming but Beatrice still loved every ounce of it. Everything was going perfectly this time around and her time table was managed to perfection, which was why she had time to now study with Ying and Raizle. Truthfully, she was not very familiar with the latter but when Ying had asked if Bea would join them, the Prefect just could not say no. A afternoon in the library was not something she would willfully say no to, especially not when her best friend asked her.
Despite the beautiful weather outside the Castle walls, which was inviting to lounge or study in, the library was packed when Beatrice entered. Her eyes scanned over the crowds and beside a familiar blonde head of hair, she could not find who she was looking for. She took a quick look at her pocket watch and then decided there was still some time to take a stroll through the shelves. She shouldered her Satchel, which was slipping ever so slightly, and made her way through to a quieter place in the back of the library. Her blue eyes scanned the shelves until she found the Atlas of Celestial Anomalies by M. P. N. Carneirus. It was a book on Astronomy, one of the assignments that had been sitting on Beatrice’s desk, waiting to be picked up. Usually she would have finished it the day or perhaps the day after they had gotten the assignment but she hadn’t, so she picked up the Atlas and continued her walk through the shelves. She ended up picking up a Book for History of Magic and one for Herbology, both of which Beatrice favored. Though truthfully, she liked every subject taught at Hogwarts.
Stepping out of the shelves, Beatrice’s gaze slipped over the Students sitting along the tables until she caught sight of Ying and Raizle. It looked like Raizle was just arriving but Yings gaze was fixated elsewhere, somewhere to Beatrice’s left. She followed her friends gaze and met Colin’s appearance. While she had spotted him when she walked, she hadn’t quite realized it was him. He looked… different. Not actually different but his presence felt different. The last time she had talked to him was at the Spring Ball, where he had taken off in a manor that left Bea more than concerned. Biting her lip bottom lip in thought, she continued the walk to the table her friend was sitting at and cleared her mind of theories as to what was going on with their normally bubbly slytherin friend. „Hi, Ying. Hello Raizle. How are you both today?” She smiled ever so slightly and placed her satchel next to her chair, as she pulled it back to sit down. „Everything okay?“ her gaze switched from Raizle to Colin and back to Ying, concern spreading throughout her as she placed the books, she had collected, on her lap.

Outfit:Ying was so lost in her own thoughts. Her dark brown eyes continued to watch Colin as he studied focused on his own books and parchments, and her mind continued to work on all the questions and possible answers to what was bothering her friend. More than once, Ying felt the urge to get up from her chair and go to him, but an invisible hand, a hand of sense and awareness, kept her sitting and choosing to let him maintain his newly established boundaries. But everything seemed unnatural about him, his expansive and playful personality contrasted solemnly with the person who was sitting there in the library, and why was it suddenly so difficult to approach him? Had he realized how she felt about him? No... that would never be enough reason for him to walk away like that...
Ying felt a hand touching her shoulder and couldn't help but startle when she felt the touch, feeling her heart want to jump out of her chest. "Geez!!" Ying swore in a hissing voice, closing her eyes for a moment and trying to keep her voice down. Turning around in her chair she looked at the person who had just arrived, “Rai, you scared me! I think my spirit just left and entered my body in the same second!" She commented, her right hand pressing her chest over her galloping heart while she watched her friend sit in the chair by her side. "I look troubled? You almost gave me a heart attack!" She replied half jokingly. She knew her friend sensed that something else was bothering her, but Ying didn't feel prepared to share the real reason why she seemed distressed and distracted upon her friend's unnoticed arrival. So the fact that Raizel had scared her went as a perfect excuse to divert the subject in her opinion!
Not much time had passed since Raizel's arrival when her other friend also arrived at the study table. She was using the most cute outfit and braided hairstyle. It was funny how Ying found two very different people as her best friends. Raizel had a more sporty and carefree style and personality, bold and courageous like a true Gryffindor. Beatrice was delicate, elegant, studious and polite, demonstrating her most rigorous and strict education. If one were to just look at their appearances, one would see a stark contrast between them, but Ying knew better, as she could see beyond appearances, she could see that they were both trustworthy, caring, and the most loyal friends anyone would be blessed to have. And she was a very, very lucky girl!
"Hi Bea!" Ying greeted her friend with a warm and friendly smile as Beatrice chose her seat at the table. The Slytherin's ocean eyes darted between Raizel, Colin and back to her and Ying felt cringing inside, 'Damn, she knows me too well. Smart snake.' Ying thought, but made a colossal effort to prevent her face from showing more of her feelings while she answered to her last question, "Yeah! Everything's okay." Ying replied with a small smile and nodding slightly with her head and looking down at her book pretending to start to read, trying her best to disguise her anxiety and fear of letting her friends see more through her eyes. "You know, astrology is one of my favorite subjects, should we start there?" She asked her friends, looking up from her book and looking at them with the most innocent expression she could manage. But out of the corner of her eye, a sudden movement caught her attention again, and her gaze betrayed her as she looked back at Colin and her glee mask fell. Her smiling lips slowly closed, and her gaze fell into an expression of concern, causing her to return to looking at the pages open in front of her. Ying sighed, and tried to focus on her studies again, "So, what...what do you guys prefer?" She asked in a mutter, but this time she wasn't able to look at her friends again. Sometimes her courage seems to fail her in the most awkward and disadvantaged moments.

❂《 ⌜ May 10, 2024 ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔One thing about Raizel though is that she’s not the type to get into other people’s business. Whether they hide things from her, she won’t bother prying into things. That’s their problem, not hers but when it comes to her friends though, especially her close ones, there is that feeling that she couldn’t just let it go. They’ll probably hate her for trying to force it out of them which she fears but, she’s just worried about them.
Take Ying for example. Okay, maybe it was her fault for trying to be sneaky but she can’t help it with how deep Ying was in her thoughts. Her answers weren’t what she was expecting either. “Uh huh, yeah.” Well, she’ll play along… for now at least but it was clear her thoughts were somewhere else and she’ll find out even if it’s the last thing she does. She leaned back on her chair, looking towards the person who just arrived who was also joining them in this study session.
She’s a classmate of theirs, from Slytherin from what she can remember, Beatrice Dupont. “Ah, hello. Doing fine…” She said back with a small smile before looking back at Ying just as she looked down on her books “Not quite sure if things are okay though”. For others, it may seem like she’s just diligent with her studies which was normal for Ying. Really, she sometimes wonders how she ended up in Gryffindor. Anyway, yes, that’s normal but Raizel had seen her do something similar, perhaps during that time in the common rooms? Spying on Finnegan Connor and his rumored girlfriend. Like earlier, she didn’t question it… for now. Until those small eye movements caught her attention.
You know, finding out what’s distracting her best friend right now is a lot better than doing anything concerning the bloody subject that she just mentioned. Astronomy? Blegh, who wants to do that? She’d rather let that tower burn, get it removed from the main subjects. Too much? If you got marked absent for months despite how you always attend it, who wouldn’t bear a grudge? There was no love left for that subject in her, just pure hatred to the point that the mere mention of it turns her expression sour and full of violent intent.
“I prefer knowing what you’ve been looking at.” she blurted out as she really didn't want to do anything Astro related. She lazily flipped through the pages of the book they have on the table. Her eyes then went to Ying and to the direction that she’s been stealing glances at, finding a certain boy that she had once during an unofficial race.
