Growing up, Jenny had heard mention only a few times that her late great-grandmother, Morwenna, had been some kind of fortune teller. Most of the family seemed to be under the impression that she was just a crazy old woman. Once, Jenny had heard her mother mention Morwenna’s “Inner Eye,” but she wasn’t sure what that meant and she was too young to understand. At family events and gatherings, whenever Morwenna was mentioned, most people just chuckled lightly in amusement and hoped that she rested in peace. But, crazy or not, Jenny had always felt a deeper connection to her great-grandmother, although she had died before Jenny was born. Since before she could form complete sentences, Jenny loved art and drawing. She obviously began with unrecognizable scribbles, but as she got older her obvious talent for art became apparent. When Jenny was eight years old, just a few months after her first instance of magic, she drew an exact and extremely detailed pencil drawing of her great-grandmother, Morwenna, even though she had never met her before.
At the age of ten, Jenny took up painting. She found it to be a deeply insightful and soul-searching activity. She often found herself painting extremely detailed portraits of people she’d never met or seen before. And yet she’d always felt a connection to them in some way or another. Jenny could almost feel their names on the tip of her tongue, but she could never remember them properly. They almost felt like people she’d met in a forgotten dream. Not all her paintings seemed like this, though. Many of her paintings featured her friends and family or, Jenny’s favorite to paint, landscapes of the surrounding countryside, particularly at night time.
Jenny has never had a “vision,” nor have her parents ever suspected her to be a seer. As of now, most of her seer abilities have just been attributed to her imagination and creativity, such as with her artwork. One clear, summer night before starting at Hogwarts, Jenny was out stargazing, just as she had done on several occasions. She was lost in the beauty of the twinkling lights when she saw her first-ever shooting star. After years of stargazing, Jenny had finally witnessed the cosmic phenomenon. She thought she would feel excited about such an event, but rather she had a deep feeling inside her; an intuition: a strange urge to check on her mother.
Jenny quickly ran inside to her mother’s bedroom where she found her mother unconscious on the floor. She cried out for her father who hurried in, alarmed, and was able to stabilize her mother with some quick and precise healing spells. He then took her to the nearby clinic where he worked, and Jenny’s mother was able to make a speedy recovery. Jenny’s parents had claimed what good luck it had been that Jenny found her mother when she did, but Jenny wasn’t so sure it was luck. She didn’t know what had happened, but she did know that it wasn’t simply luck that had helped save her mother. Jenny never told her parents about the shooting star, nor about her feeling of intuition. She quickly grew distracted and excited with her upcoming year at Hogwarts, but she never completely forgot about that shooting star and that deep feeling inside herself.

BACKSTORY:
Reducio
Jenny Davies was born in Wales and is the only child of Lyra and Cyrus Davies. Her parents are both wizards, making her pureblood. She grew up with very caring parents and grandparents and has an excellent relationship with her mother. Her father, Cyrus, is a Healer who works at his local practice and her mother, Lyra, is an author of poetry. Lyra would often read stories to Jenny as a little girl and share her poetry with her. Both of her parents were sorted into House Ravenclaw and Jenny hoped to be able to be sorted with them.
Her first instance of magic occurred at the age of eight, which confirmed her to be a witch. The summer after she turned 11 she received her Hogwarts letter, much to her and her parents’ delight. She had been studying some of her mother’s old astronomy textbooks and was excited to begin learning magic at Hogwarts.
Jenny’s hobbies include art (mostly drawing and painting), stargazing and studying astronomy, as well as reading and writing. Jenny likes to write poetry, although she isn’t as talented as her mother. She loves hearing stories, especially old tales from history and myths and legends.
Upon her arrival at Hogwarts during the Sorting Ceremony, Jenny was sorted into Hufflepuff. She thought for sure she would be a Ravenclaw due to both her parents, as well as her love for reading, writing, and art. While Jenny isn’t completely antisocial, she didn’t have very many friends growing up and was surprised to be placed in Hufflepuff. But she was excited for her new journey at Hogwarts and to be a part of the Hufflepuff family.

FIRST INSTANCE OF MAGIC:

Jenny's first instance of magic came when she was about eight years old. She had just discovered her mother's old astronomy textbook and was very excited to learn more about the cosmos and the night sky. That night, her mother came to tuck her into bed, read her a short story, and turned out the light. Jenny wanted to read the new book so badly, that when she opened up the textbook, the pages were glowing with a soft, dim light so that she would be able to read well into the night. She kept this up for several weeks before she finally told her parents, who were thrilled that she, like them, was a witch.
