ReducioIt was just as cold as anticipated as Beatrice stepped out of her Mother's friend's house. London was even prettier than Beatrice had imagined London to be this time of year. Snow was falling, covering every rooftop and every single inch of ground. Not even the small edges between the cobblestones could be seen. Of course the beautiful white was ruined by witches and wizards walking in the powered, turning it into a muddy substance with their boots but the snow on the roofs was safe. The area Beatrice was in right now was mostly populated by wizards and witches as far as she was aware, yet she stil wondered if there were muggles beneath them. It was December 27th just after Christmas and while her Mother was having Tea with an old friend, Beatrice had been allowed to discover London a bit more. The buzzing city was an unusual sight compared to the Scottish countryside Beatrice was so used to and yet she fit right in with the fashionable wizards and witches of England.
Her steps carried her through the crowds with grace, a coffee to go grasped in her left hand and a bookbag in the other. This time around, it had not been Beatrice's idea to accompany her mother on this visit, no it had been the influencing conversation between Konstantin and Alice Dupont that brought Beatrice to this exploring. Her thirteenth birthday was not far and Konstantin believed that it would do Beatrice good to acquaintance herself with other parts of Britian and wizarding society. While Balls and social gatherings were one way to do that, the busy London streets were another. It had been anticipated for Beatrice to have an escort but the small house elf had not been quick enough and Beatrice gone before he could follow.
With her head held high, back straight and a graceful step it was no issue observing the crowds of wealthy and less wealthy wizards and witches making their way past Beatrice. Some, if not many, graced the young girl with a look of approval while others even had a hint of aspiration and slight jealousy in them. Of course there was envy in their gazes, Beatrice knew well that she was beautiful and wealthy. Her family was well known in higher society just as other pure blood families. Connections were important in their environment, they brought power and control with them. Beatrice was well aware of that fact, even now it was important for Beatrice to make a good impression and start building this connections in school. She was taught to succeed and be exceptional.
Stopping before what seemed to be a small park, Beatrice overlooked the small lake in the distance. Children were playing on and beside the frozen surface. Others were running along with their parents, forming a picture perfect family. Her breath was visible before her, steady and calm. She stood like this for a while, smiling at the children enjoying themselves and playing with her friends. When she got home she would have to write to Lucian and Ying to ask how they were doing. She enjoyed their company even both were so different. With a small smile at the thought of her friends, Beatrice turned and was just about to continue walking when her gaze fell on someone that looked just a little too familiar to be a complete stranger.
