Both tutoring and learning were beneficial to the members - as a tutor you had a chance to recap your knowledge as you helped another and as a learner you could understand where you are going wrong and learn how to change it. That was what was so marvellous about the club.
Es began to set up. She had placed the desks in pairs, with both seats facing each other to allow the partners to work and in the center of the room placed a few snacks - tomatoes and cucumber along with some sweets and cookies. She had chosen snacks that weren't particularly loud to eat and had placed them on plates so there wasn't any rustling from wrappers. She also had some study notes and revision guides in case people needed them. They weren't perfect but she had had fun making them and hoped they would be helpful.
Before the club had started, Es had compiled a list of all the members and partnered them depending on their preferences. She hoped that they would all get along, but if not she was sure that people would be willing to swap. She wrote the list on the board.
Now all she had to do was wait for the members to arrive!Welcome to the club! The partners are as follows:

𝓣he second-to-last thing that Bex wanted in this world was to willingly spend her free time studying.
But the actual, number one last thing Bex wanted was to fail one of her classes and then have to tell her parents that she'd failed a class (or, god forbid, multiple classes) so here she was, on a perfectly good afternoon she could have spent outside, tentatively making her way into the empty classroom where the Study Tutoring club was meeting with her coursework for the week in tow.
From what she'd seen on the sign-ups sheet she didn't know anyone else in the club, which was a little bit nerve-wracking, but as she hadn't really known anyone when she'd gotten to Hogwarts a couple of months ago either and had yet to die from it, she could only assume that this would be a similarly non-lethal experience. Perhaps as a Ravenclaw she should have treated studying at little less like going to the gallows, but hey, the hat had known what she was about when it sent her here so it wasn't her fault.
Once inside the club room she took a look up at the info on the board that the blonde girl (the club leader, maybe?) had helpfully written out. Being a (very) late sign-up herself, Bex hadn't been assigned a group, and made her way over to the blonde girl to introduce herself, waiting until the other girl had finished with the board to avoid coming up behind her and scaring her.
"Hullo. I'm Rebecca Lark. Sorry I signed up so last minute."
