Ok so this is where the actual debating happens in the debate club. I guess it’s ooc. Basically, there will be two debates at a time for now, and the two people will take turns stating their points. At the end (once it makes sense to end it and there is nothing else left to say) the winner will be announced by me, I wont be biased I promise. These are just the baselines for now, they might changed later, like when my brain doesnt = dead.

Rules:
-Opponents take turns posting, no editing your points after you've submitted them, you will need to wait for your next turn to do that
-Be kind, don't insult one another in order to win please
-Do not just do bullet points/a shopping list, put your points in sentence form

Cats or Dogs

Cats are far superior to dogs. They are faster, smarter and less trusting which could be seen as a con, but the trust of a cat is earnt and not bought making it far more rewarding to be won. Also they are softer than dogs.

Dogs are ultimately better, as they are more energetic, fine guards for protection and safety, and easier to play with. For instance, having a friend over would result in them getting closer to your dog rather than your cat.

Cats or Dogs

True, however dogs are also very needy - you might be with your friend but your dog will often try to take your attention to them. In addition, dogs are much more difficult to live with compared to cats, as if you live in a city or have a full time job it may be difficult to take them out for a walk. Cats require no such aid as they can take themselves out and don't need constant attention. Also, cats don't smell terrible when they are wet.

Not as much, as cats also eat smelly food. Dogs can help guide people with disabilities, while cats cannot, as they have less training and are more prone to being lazy. Dogs can help you live a safe life, and are more popular among the population.
