Mellani was having a hard time at Hogwarts. She found it hard to concentrate on anything, and her thoughts kept drifting to Olive. She was finding it hard to like Hogwarts half as much as she liked it in her first year, and the thought that someone else might die too during her second year kept bugging her. She knew it probably wouldn't happen, but since she had been accepted into hogwarts, it felt like her family and 'muggle' friends had drifted away from her. The fact that phones didn't work made everything even harder for Mellani.

The thoughts were whirling in her head when she went to the courtyard and opened a book that she had loved to read in her first year. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Reading was one of the few things that still gave her comfort. Mellani looked up and noticed that a girl was sitting a little distance away, doing her homework. She was suddenly reminded that she had to do her own homework, but after some thought, she decided to keep that for the night. It wasn't like she was going to get some sleep anyways, and her dormmates definitely wouldn't mind.

Mellani went back to reading her book. After some time, she felt like someone was sitting close to her and stole a look, noticing the girl who had been doing her homework come and sit next to her. Mellani knew that she should say something, but she wasn't sure what to say, so she just decided to continue reading, hoping that the other girl would either go away, or maybe start the conversation.

As if the girl had read her thoughts, she spoke, asking Mellani about her book and stating that it was her favorite. Mellani nodded. "Yeah, it's one of the few wizarding world books that I really like...", she said.

Estelle grinned, glad that the girl had acknowledged her. She's been a little worried that the girl wouldn't reply at all, which would have made Estelle more than a bit embarrassed. Luckily, she'd replied and that was all Es requited for a conversation to begin. "Only a few? Wizarding books are amazing! Of course, muggle ones are awesome too, but the fact that all of the magic written within the books here is real makes them even cooler. Especially in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - I hope to one day meet every amazing creature within it. Well, except a Lethifold. No offence to Lethifolds, but I'd rather not be murdered in my sleep, thank you very much. But other than that, I'd love to see each and every thing written within wizarding books. Oh right, I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Estelle." Estelle looked at the girl, hoping she wasn't too overwhelmed by her chaotic speech. She had a tendency to say almost everything that came to her mind, blurting it out with enthusiasm and excitement. It was fun, but it could be overwhelming if others weren't ready for it. Estelle honestly couldn't help it. Her brain whizzed at hundreds of miles per hour and it was all her mouth could do to keep up.
