GRYFFINDOR vs HUFFLEPUFF - SPRING 2023

It was a beautiful afternoon for a Quidditch match— not snowing, or raining, or too foggy to even spot the Quaffle, never mind the Snitch. The weather smiled down on the Hogwarts pitch this afternoon, showing signs of naught but clear blue sky over the castle and beyond.

The afternoon sun would shine warmly upon the players as they took to the field: the mighty Gryffindors, lead by their fearless captains Pax Zhang and Ethan Smith. The Lions were coming off a rough loss to Hufflepuff last autumn and an even more brutal defeat at the hands of Ravenclaw soon thereafter, but it seemed their heads were held high in search of a victory to end their season with a bang.

Slytherin would take to the pitch headed by tenured captain Dan Palmer and new leader Koko Riddle. The Snakes had fared somewhat better this season, opening their year with a strong win against Ravenclaw yet falling to Hufflepuff over the winter, but they would not be placated with second place— now or ever.

The announcer's voice would ring out across the stadium, introducing the players as they warmed up for the match to come. It was gearing up to be a bloody one: both teams had something to prove, and they'd likely stop at nothing to secure the victory they craved. Would Gryffindor's stubborn pride and creative tactics stand up to Slytherin's mighty Beaters and experienced Seeker? Only time— and the scoreboard— would tell.

The Snitch fluttered and disappeared, the Bludgers took on a life of their own, and the Quaffle soared into the air. The announcer's tone took on a fervent pitch, and the game was on.
