The Letter Z
Hey, I was just curious. But do you write it z or z and do you pronounce it zee or zed? I think the British pronounce zed, while the Americans pronounce it zee. I pronounce it zed. I write it z. I think thats how you’re supposed to write it in maths. Sorry, totally irrelevant…

z and zee, by the way, I think one of my former math teachers pronounce it zed.

When typing, I don’t bother backing it z, but I do if I’m writing by hand.Rita Su wrote: 21 Nov 2022, 10:19 z and zee, by the way, I think one of my former math teachers pronounce it zed.

Zed is the most common pronunciation and you can write it as either z or z. It doesn't matters anyway. American's pronounce it as Zee- because you see, they modify each and every British word. But any pronunciation can work! It even varies according to the words pronunciation.
