On a chilly November afternoon, the bitter winds whistling through the trees, a redheaded girl wrapped in a dark red sweater stands outside, looking at the beautiful leaves as they tumble from the trees, shimmering with the colors of red, gold, orange, and brown. That girl is me, Aurora, or "Ro". Ro stands outside, thinking. It's awfully cold outside, but Ro doesn't care. She likes the cold. Her birthday was in 9 days. She would longer be 11, but 12 instead. However, this birthday was different than all the others. She wasn't spending it with her family like she usually did. Her cousin Meiriona had sent her a letter, saying that she was planning to give Ro a present for her birthday, as part of their agreement that they wouldn't fight(again)about their birthdays being so close to each other. Riona's was in two days. Ro had sent her some chocolate frogs(apparently her favorite)as a birthday present. Now Riona was gonna give her something better in return. A wizard camera, was it? She heard that it made pictures move. Ro liked photography, and she was excited about using a wizard camera! She wondered if she could tell some of her friends that her birthday was coming up. Maybe it could be a surprise party. But if she was expecting a surprise party, then it wouldn't be a surprise. So...should she tell somebody? Ro didn't know. Her train of thought came to a sudden halt on the tracks when she saw a blonde-haired girl nearby. Ro recognized her as Taisia, the chief of the Hogwarts Pensieve newspaper! She had seen her at the first meeting. "Hello!" Ro called over her shoulder. "Lovely weather, isn't it?" This was ironic since most people would not consider this lovely weather at all. And then she whispered to herself in Welsh, "Oh, what I am to do with myself..." Ro often spoke in Welsh when she was saying something that she didn't want other people to hear. It was strange, but it was a habit. She looked towards Taisia again and gave a nervous smile. She was glad to be distracted from her homesickness...
