On any given October night one would expect themselves to be huddled beside the fireplace within the Great Halls either warding off the cold or enjoying the weekend with their friends, perhaps even both. Tonight was no such night, for an unseasonable warmth had brought to Scotland the clear skies and eerie calm that now shrouded the stands of the quidditch pitch like a warm blanket. The sky was as clear as could be and as a result the moon had become mostly visible from behind the leering towers of the stands. This caused the shadows to tickle the field below seemingly giving life to the dancing darkness which appeared as the outstretched fingers of some shadowy beast gripping the heart of the pitch.Link to Quidditch System: viewtopic.php?t=7504
But bravely soldier on our young students must, for their reputations as a team are in question and a real shot at victory is on the line. The eerie calm of the stands would soon be broken with a roar as the Gryffindor team burst onto the pitch, a shimmering illusory lion appearing with their introduction. Only after then would the captains herald the arrival of their team mates who followed closely onto the field. Equally as awe-inspiring, the entrance of the badgers shook the stands as the low rumble of their stomping, humming and clapping brings them to the field, the true display of teamwork and dedication giving them the appearance of grim specters intent on stealing tonight's game from house Gryffindor.
Their first game of the year, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff would both be looking for the opportunity to set the bar as high as possible tonight, but the game itself was as likely to be as unpredictable as it ever was. Tonight, if they wanted to win, they would have to endure as they faced attacks from the shadows. They would have to learn how to defend the goals in the dark and the seekers would have to hope the moonlight was just enough to help them spot the snitch, but just enough to help it evade their opposition's perception. Would Hufflepuff's dedication and tenacity help them to pull ahead of the game narrowly avoiding a harrowing defeat, or would Gryffindor's ferocity and unmatchable style prove them to be the victors of the battle before it had ever truly begun? Only time could tell.

Was she a coward for abandoning duelling after merely a year for another sport because she could not handle being scorched? Aurelia wouldn't consider so. The Gryffindor's own virtues and morals conflicted against the sport which turned a blind eye towards teenagers deliberately setting another one on fire. Flames were brutal and were not something to be played. It had traumatised her.
This was the first time the sixth year was playing for Gryffindor's quidditch team, even if she was a benched seeker. In fact, she preferred it that way, after all, she was new to the sport, so it was a good idea for her to watch and learn. The position of seeker was a precarious one... and she wasn't getting onto the playing field if two terrifying half-breeds were in the skies on the first string. She was a Gryffindor, but her self-preservation was strong. She wasn't reckless.

Quidditch was always a huge love of hers. She loved to read about it and watch it, and she somehow made the team. So now here she was, walking in the field at night and hearing the huge crowd gave her a surge of euphoria. She looked at the people and at the rest of her team, widening her eyes. Yup, she was actually doing this. She may be benched but this might just be the first step to a career.

Hufflepuff Vs. Gryffindor- Fall 2022
It is finally the quidditch fall 2022 game. Rita`s first quidditch game. As a beater who just joined the 2022-23 Hufflepuff Quidditch team, Rita was of course, nervous. Although she had practiced striking the badger with @Irina Sousa a lot, the official match is certainly different from any of those practices. "How would I perform on the match? Would I let the whole team down? Would I make my Hufflepuff fellows feel disappointed? Anyway, I will just try my best, so I won`t feel regretted even if we lose." Rita thought as she took her beater`s bat to the quidditch pitch to compete in her first game.

Her hands clasping the rose gold pendant on her neck, Zoe fidgeted with it nervously. She had never been this nervous in her life. This was her first Quidditch game, and even if she was only a second string, it was still terrifying. She tried not to glare at some of her laughing team mates, who seemed to be having the time of their lives. Taking deep breaths, Zoe calmed herself down by thinking of happy thoughts - family, friends, good food. Ugh, now her stomach was growling. Forcing herself to not think about that fact, she stared out at the giant pitch, imagining herself flying out there.

Ethan walked into the pitch, and the crowd erupted into cheers. He smiled and waved, feeling a rush of excitement. It was his first game of the year, and even though he's been benched, he knows he has to be ready to fly onto the pitch at a moment's notice.Reducio

- On a full hit with a bludger, if the user is knocked off their broom there is a 25% chance that the broom is shattered as well. If the broom is shattered, the opponent will not be able to use the broom for the duration of the Quidditch match (they do not loose their broom permanently, they would repair it off-screen later).

────────────────────────────────────────The nervous anticipation that had been building the last couple of weeks had not abated whatsoever now that the day was upon them. The rumbling from the stands during their entrance only served to heighten those nerves, even as a thrill of exhilaration shoots through the first year. Despite the darkness that has fallen across the pitch, the warm air is at least a moderate comfort. Could be far worse.
Gripping her broom tightly, Avery follows along with the team until it's nearly time to begin and splits off with the rest of the second string players. Settling down on the bench, the beater is unable to keep her leg from bouncing as she peers out at the middle of the pitch. Hufflepuff Vs. Gryffindor- Fall 2022
Alma got anxiety at lots of things, to say the least. Nearly everything that was even remotely dangerous made her uneasy and careful, but this game had to take the cake. The loud roar of the stands that accompanied the team’s entrance did nothing to help the queasy feeling that had settled in her stomach before the game.
She walked to the bench along the other second-strings with a shake in her legs. Before sitting down, she evaluated the stands for anyone she knew. Specifically George, who she had assumed would come seeing as he’s the one who had practically forced her on the team. She didn’t see anyone she knew in the huge crowd, so she sat down next to Avery, offering a friendly smile and looking up in awe at the first-string players.

Hufflepuff Vs. Gryffindor- Fall 2022
It was happening, she was taking to the skies and bringing with it a whole lot bundle of nerves and what have you. She had gotten so used to the bench so when Elena Jangleton had been ushered into to take up the spot of Seeker, she'd caved willingly although now with all these faces around and well aware of the fact just how essential this role was, she had a feeling she'd be fretting more. This was her first match after all as she inhaled and exhaled, a common practice of hers before any match. The brunette glanced around at the mix of seasoned players and rookies, was this how everyone felt before every match?
She glanced down at the neatly polished wood of her broom, a recent investment but still, it would fare well against most others as she only had two goals in mind. That was to get her grubby hands on the Snitch before the other one and hope to Merlin the opposing Beater's weren't plotting to take her out too early. Elena was already getting a feeling of why the teamwork concept that was drilled into them was virtually essential but there was little time to linger, it was time to act as she followed after her fellow lions zipping into the sky, the darkness of the evening expanding below them as Elena settled into her routine, eyes already scanning.

The dog days of summer were but a distant memory on that autumn day. Sun and moon hung in the cloudless sky, one rising, the other sinking and casting long, eerie shadows across the open field, like dark fingers digging troughs into the soft, natural carpet.
Finnegan rubbed his hands together before he swung his leg over his broom and kicked off from the ground, giving a friendly wave to @Alma Stoll on the way up. He had not expected her to join the Quidditch team, even if she was benched for now, she looked quite nervous just sitting down. In a way he was glad she wasn't playing, he'd hate to have to knock her off her broom...
After a quick and futile attempt to find @George Henry in the stands (he merely tried to look for the most flamboyant outfit he could find, but there were quite a few of them), he made a half-hearted U-turn and leaned forward. With a whoosh, he shot up to join his team on the pitch.
The sheer speed of his broom still made his insides buzz, like going down a rollercoaster ride. Flying had come naturally to him, a relief considering his struggles in other subjects, but nothing had prepared him for the difference between an Arrow and the school brooms. It was like a bike to a sportscar; they weren't even in the same class. He could not resist a lazy loop-the-loop on his way up, just for the joy of it.
Concern was still etched on the faces of his teammates. Each handled their nerves a little differently, but they had to know something he didn't, judging by their expressions. The Hufflepuffs were older, stronger, and more experienced, and the one called Quinn was stupidly big, but that didn't mean they were mean. In fact, in Finn's experience, Hufflepuffs were some of the nicest people around and would probably apologize for so much as brushing past him. Besides, he'd been assured that nurse Frogge could heal broken bones with ease, and could even grow them back.
He climbed a little higher still, and with every foot he gained, the thoughts that had clouded his mind below faded further and further away. He knew what he'd been tasked to do and he was determined to do a good job of it.
Squinting, he tried to make out his opponents and noted their position in the privacy of his mind. Quinn was hard to miss, and so was Howard. The only person that looked comparable to himself in terms of stature had to be Akemi, though their beater Rita could easily be mistaken for a scrawny first year chaser at this distance.
The minute he spotted @Ethen Emrys he would thumb his nose at the Hufflepuff seeker and send a lopsided grin in the boy's direction. "It's safer for you on the ground, you know," he hollered, though he wasn't sure the boy would hear him. There was no malice in his voice, just a whiff of false bravado freshly brewed that morning. Anything he could do to get under Ethen's skin, even if he'd only draw a scoff, would be time the Hufflepuff wasted on something else than looking for the snitch.
