Appearance: Upon inspection, Jannette Applebottom is a brunette-haired girl with emerald green eyes. She has peachy skin and dimples show whenever she smiles. One distinct thing you usually notice about her is her circular glasses. Her build is quite lanky as she would be around 4'8. You will usually see Jannette wearing different kinds of dresses (Cottagecore), skirts, jeans, and intellectual outfits (Dark Academia).
Personality: Jannette is best described as your typical naive, curious, chaotic, kind, free-spirited, and overly emotional tween. Being raised in a large Scotland Pureblood family, Jannette was usually targeted for the 'older sibling treatment', this, usually came with teasing, pranks, and sometimes being used to help prank her other sibling! Because of her upbringing, Jannette is generally viewed as very gullible, and in her friend group, she is seen more as a follower than a leader. Like most young girls her age, the idea of "fitting in" is essential to Jannette, and with that comes the susceptibility to be peer-pressured by her friends or by people generally older than her. She enjoys causing fun chaos, eating sweets, spending time with the family cats, and most importantly socializing with her friends.
First Instance Of Magic: At 6 years old, Jannette displayed her first instance of Magic! Beginning outside her Nans cottage in Scottland, which was known in the family for its beautiful apple trees. Jannette wanted to join in on the usual family harvest, plucking away at apples with their magic. Jannette, on the other hand, with her basket in hand wanted to help, so she tried the only way she could, jumping!
As minutes that felt like hours for the young girl, Jannette frustratedly rests on the trunk of the apple tree, she looks at her basket in failure, empty. Typical. But before even Jannette could realize apples hailed down from the tree in an instant as Jannette was almost covered in beautiful green apples.

From an early age in Jannette's life, she never really 'knew' her Mother and Father like the typical family would, only seeing them on weekends due to them working, and her sibling being at Hogwarts kept the young girl strained from her parents (well maybe except for the summer). Due to this, Jannette and her younger sister would be mainly living at their Nans and Grandpa's cottage and their 7 cats! Her Nan, Granny Smtih Applebottom, would have a close relationship with Jannette. On a typical day, the young Applebottom and her Sister would explore outside the cottage to see the beautiful apple orchid that her grandparents have grown.Pre-Hogwarts
Summers, however, was a much different experience for Jannette, as she and her sister would return back to the Applebottom estate as her Older siblings would be taking care of them from their return from Hogwarts. Jannette loved her older siblings, but as usual, she did have her heated moments, dealing with their teasing, and pranks -- one of her biggest fears, was actually Hogwarts. Hearing the stories about the Forbidden Forest, to the scary monsters lurking around caused Jannette to begin to screech and cry as she finally got the letter from Hogwarts as her siblings would laugh. Jannette entered Hogwarts alongside other first years, and the Headmaster of Hogwarts, Solomon Lear, or as Jannette likes to call him, The Iron Giant, due to the armor he wears all the time (Does he ever take it off)? Jannette is flabbergasted that she got sorted into Slytherin of all houses, by the stupid old leather hat! After being placed in Slytherin, Jannette decides to introduce herself to the other Slytherins with her cheeks stuffed with food! Because of this, she has been given the title of Niffler, by Colin McCoire. Jannette hates her new nickname and is being constantly teased by her other housemates, Rebecca Loops and Guinevere Bwye causing her to lash out at them.
Screaming, Jannette throws cheese at Guinevere, almost hitting Rebecca, but also hits another target, Irina Sousa. Irina decides to get revenge on the Niffler and throws a cupcake right in Jannette's face, ruining her glasses!

After such a wonderful first impression at the Grand Feast, Jannette and the other first years are being led by Prefect, Cassandra Ironwoods. Instead of it being a peaceful time to end the day, the older Slytherins decide to scare the firsties! While almost all of the first years weren't scared by the whole ordeal, Jannette on the other hand was scared to death! She closed her eyes and begged to want to be back home, and worst of all she said the hat was wrong and she was supposed to be in Gryffindor. Of all the houses she could've said that in, Slytherin, really... oh Jannette when will you ever learn.

Jannette played an imaginary game in the Slytherin common room called, The Floor is Lava! Doing so she caught the attention (through the onslaught of pillow attacks) of Nico Cirillo, Kierce Gray, and Quinn Root.

After a long day of studying Jannette comes back from the library and walks through the hallway, heading to the Grand Hall to get some dessert! As she went toward the Grand Hall, students began running out as loud commotion of frogs started coming up. So, Jannette being Jannette entered the Grand Hall and saw not only frogs but a bunch of students trying to catch the frogs. Professor Takagi shouted loudly that each frog the students found would be awarded a chocolate frog. So Jannette caught a frog and was rewarded!

Colin invited Jannette to watch a duel and things take a turn for the worst as a spell gets cast in her direction. Luckily, Hunter a Ravenclaw student and referee, intervened and saved Jannette.

With the Fall Ball coming around, Jannette needed a date and sent letters to as many First-Years boys trying to get a date. Luckily, Jannette received a letter from Thymus, and the two agreed to get to know each other more in the common room.

The two know each other very little, but Jannette knows a few things about them. For starters, Jannette is absolutely terrified of Cash. She can't explain why but they have that sorta presence about them. Second, Jannette knows that Cassandra got hit by some Ravenclaw students, which caused gossip around the halls for a few days, and no one talked about it whenever they walked by... Also, they are a Prefect, BOOOOO!!!!

A trusted friend, and leader of the Snek Squad! Jannette sees Colin as an older Brother. She always listens to anything he says and believes everything this boy says. If Colin says the sky is purple, then the sky is purple, if Colin says that there are monsters under Jannette's bed, then Jannette will sleep in another room! This sorta makes her gullible, but she absolutely trusts and respects Colin more than anyone at Hogwarts, even more than the Professors.

A member of the Snek Squad, and a close friend. While the two at first seemed to be very bitter towards each other, especially during the first day at Hogwarts when Irina hit Jannette with a cupcake, the two became very close and enjoy each other's company.

The two met and played the Floor is Lava. Currently, Jannette is neutral towards Kierce not really knowing much about him on a personal level and just playing a game together.

These two met while playing the Floor is Lava, Jannette is also natural towards Nico. She can tell him pretty well as he is basically a pale vampire! They don't know each other on a personal level but, the girl was amused to say the least when he got hit by a pillow...

A member of the Snek Squad and a super close, and trusted friend! While Jannette is close to all of the Snek Squad members, Rebecca has a warm place in Jannette's heart. The two didn't get along well, as Jannette screamed at him, though Rebecca took it well. What made Jannette trust Rebecca was when he comforted her during the Fall Ball where Jannette got stood up during a date.

A member of the Snek Squad and welcomed friend! Jannette and Violet have a respected history together. While Jannette doesn't know this, Violet has been pretty respectful towards Jannette during the first day at Hogwarts, and not calling her a Niffler. The Applebottom family is consisted of an ancient pure-blooded family going all the way back to the 16th century. Most of the family attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and were traditionally sorted into Gryffindor. The Applebottoms are known for their riches and privilege in a Pure-blooded society. The family is known for selling applewood to various wand sellers throughout the generations, making them wealthy. Currently, the head of the Applebottom family is Granny Smith Applebottom.
The Applebottoms have a known reputation in the wizarding world for being a liberal Pure-blooded family and are tolerant of muggles in society. With the new policies that have been added to Hogwarts, allowing for many different types of students to be enrolled, the family advocates for tolerance, equality, and individualism outside of blood status!

The Applebottom family was a mysterious yet ancient line of Pure-Blooded who began to rise through wizarding society, with the majority of them attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and sorted into Gryffindor! In Scotland, the first recording of the Surname Applebottom began with a Pure-blooded wizard by the name of James Oakenbottom assisting King David I on an assignment to help discover new plant life to be archived. So, James began to travel all across Scotland along with his 3 pure-blooded friends.
During his adventure, James got lost in an apple orchard, as he was trying to find his friends James came across a mysterious figure, he had the figure of a human but an apple as a head. He introduced himself as Lord Malus and gave James a prophecy! If James were to plant apples all across Scotland, the man will be rewarded for his good deeds. Thus James was able to rise again, but not as Oakenbottom, but with a name that the Apple Lord found adequate for his new follower, and that name... was Applebottom! After finishing his quest, James returned back to King David I. For his good deed, the King gave James land in Melrose, Scotland where the Applebottom descendants have lived for over 9 centuries!
The Applebottoms became known in the wizarding world for their rather accepting nature and is known for selling apple-based products in both the muggle and wizarding world. However, this all changed when the witchcraft craze began! In 1590 a trial, mainly of women was sentenced to death for 'making a deal with the devil' and conspiracy to dethrone James VI by conjuring a storm. With the worry that the Applebottoms would be next, the family placed a concealment charm on their manor, making it impossible for Muggles to see them. As of 2022, the Applebottom family is still at large, with one of the main Applebottom family, living in Melrose, Scotland. They live a privileged life, and the family enjoys spending time at the Applebottom Manor or at their Grandmother, and Grandfathers beautiful cottage estate where they pick apples from Orchards.
The Applebottom family's main fear is the SCAR organization. Hearing of the terrorist attacks going around, the family worries for the safety of the wizarding world, and also their descendants. As of the Trial of the century, they were very supportive of the Potter family during the second wizarding war, though after the guilty verdict was given to the "Boy who lived" for murdering Dolores Umbridge. The family is also against some wizarding policies like The International Statue of Secrecy, believing that muggles have changed, and would be more accepting, accommodating, and can coexist with Witches and Wizards of today.

HistoryReducioMalusism is a harvest spiritualist, polytheistic religion based on the life and tenants of Lord Malus, the apple god of Scotland. The religion is followed by the Applebottom family and is the main religion that the Applebottom family believes in.
Malusism began in the twelfth century after James Oakenbottom was tasked by King David I to find new plants to document and archive. After bringing along 3 colleagues, James and his colleagues would enter a forest and get lost. Trying to find his colleagues, James came across a beautiful apple tree with a human figure with an apple as a head. After introducing themselves as Lord Malus, James became enamored with the teachings of Lord Malus. Sadly for James what he didn't know, was that there wasn't a Lord Malus, a Grand Orchard, or an Apple Divinity. What really happened on that day was his three colleagues decided to prank and tricked James Oakenbottom into believing a parody-like religion.Lord MalusReducioLord Malus is the Apple god that the Applebottoms worship. Finally, Lord Malus likes to play tricks and decided to control an apple tree, causing an apple to fall and hit a famous muggle scientist on the head.
