Today was a very busy day for Jannette. There were a lot of first-time things going on, besides it being the first day of October, today was her first time watching an actual wizarding duel. Sure, she heard about them all the time from her siblings but actually witnessing a duel was a totally different experience. She wanted it to be a special moment, so she decided to bring a small sign with her showing support for Colin McCoire, a second-year Slytherin (and also who invited her to watch the duel in the first place).
While she knew very little about Avery, the other Slytherin, Colin on the other hand was a very familiar face to Jannette. While she did go through the typical first-year teasing from Colin during the Sorting feast, and it also didn't help that brunette had to deal with his antics during the initiation ritual on the same day no less; she still considered Colin a friend. As Jannette headed into the dueling room, the first thing that came to her mind was how loud and diverse it was. It had all different years of students talking and getting to know each other, but in typical Jannette fashion, she decided to stay silent, waddling over to the spectator stand with a comically large sign, her oversized robe slithering behind her on the floor like a snake.
The match was about to begin, and with a Ravenclaw student as a mediator go figure... The two teams were set: Avery and a Hufflepuff student, vs Colin and a Gryffindor student. It seemed like an interesting duo duel as it began. Peeking through her sign, Avery and the Hufflepuff student seemed like they planned. It was obvious, as spells began to land, it was only a matter of seconds till Colin started laughing like a mad-man, and then a loud "Incendio" from the Hufflepuff, and before you knew it Colin had a cute little fire trailblazing right behind him on his robe. This wasn't good.
"OI COLIN, KICK T'ERE ARSE!!!" She squeaks her sign held as she hops up and down like a bunny rabbit. As for the duelist, if they decide to look in the direction of the Slytherin girl, they would only see a sign with tiny legs, and beautiful big green letters saying the following...

Hunter's eyes shifted to notice the young first-year @Jannette Applebottom spectating and cheering on Colin with a board to display her enthusiasm for the boy despite his laughs and body being flamed. So much was going on already, and at this point Hunter considered her presence and loud cheers to be more of a nuisance. His eyes quickly shifted back to the stage as the duelist showed off their flamboyant styles of casting. Hunter was at an angle where he couldn't observe the scarring on Colin's chest. If he had, there'd be a lot of questioning to ensue after this duel. Nonetheless, the boy stood still like a statue, hand beneath his chin as he watched and thought about the choices being made.
Despite his hysterical laughter to that of a hyena, Colin was capable of kicking his feet against the hard ground to dodge the oncoming knockback jinx that David had cast. A few tears of joy (or perhaps pain?) flew from the eyes of the Slytherin boy, landing and drenching the flames that were dieing down on his body. As for David, his accuracy was on point, but it seemed his and Avery's tactics were forcing Colin to be on the defensive. His hat trick wasn't going to surprise anyone this time; however, as a consequence, the valiant Pax Zhang sent out the same knockback jinx at David as perhaps retribution for their teammate. It seemed David's leg was refusing to listen, as he was forced to take the hit to the chest bellowing out the air from his chest. It wasn't enough to knock the strong-willed badger down, but it certainly didn't look pleasant.
Then there was Avery, the boy took an immediate turn towards his team's assortment of potions. They were duel-changing, capable of turning the tide. Hunter was curious as to what Avery would choose, but it came little to no surprise for Hunter when he saw Avery swiftly pick up and down the Fire-Breathing Potion. For a potion to work, an individual has to use all of it. In a matter of two gulps, Avery had drunk the entire potion and already Hunter felt the hair on his skin immediately flare up. Out of everyone, he had allowed the reckless Slytherin boy named Avery Chen to drink an extremely potent and dangerous potion. Hunter should have given a demonstration or requested a Professor to demonstrate how to use it properly. Avery's face was immediately beginning to sweat, no, it was already beginning to stream like a fountain as his face turned pink, no red, no magma in color. A deep shade, and just from the looks it seemed rather unpleasant. "Avery! You need to-" but it was too late. Hunter tried to yell some advice, but Avery opened his mouth at Colin with a blistering roar that echoed through the room. A sharp and powerful blast of flames roared, and Hunter noticed its direction. He got up and dashed, tackling the young Slytherin girl who cheered on Colin. Colin dodged the flames by swiftly going into a push-up formation to duck it and swiftly push himself back up. The problem was the flame had almost hit the young spectator of the duel, and Hunter had to act quickly. Lifting his head, not even asking if she was okay, Hunter took out his wand and began to extinguish the surrounding flames to make sure they wouldn't spread. "Dammit Avery, the honey and mint were supposed to help make it easier to drink but I guess a potion capable of burning off skin is still pretty hard to control," Hunter said annoyed and reverting his head back to the field to see what more of a mess was to occur.

I had been looking for the library, but I was unable to find it. I couldn't remember which floor it was on, or which floor I was on. I opened a random door and was greeted by blasts of spells. This was definitely not the library. I entered anyway. There were four wizards casting spells at each other. Was this like some sort of duel? A wizarding duel? There were two Slytherins, one Gryffindor, and one Hufflepuff. No one had noticed me yet, so I kept watching. There was a Slytherin girl cheering for one of the students, and a Ravenclaw who was watching everything. One of the Slytherins in the duel was on fire! He was laughing insanely hard. Oh, dear. But, at least his skin wasn't burning off. It could have been worse. I think. I came closer, rapt with attention. Still, no one had noticed me yet. I wasn't sure who to cheer for, the Hufflepuff, or the flaming Slytherin. The Gryffindor cast a spell at the Hufflepuff, and he was knocked down. That's when the other Slytherin picked up a potion bottle and downed it. I gulped. What did that potion do? That's when his face turned an unpleasant red and he literally breathed fire! I could feel the heat, so I avoided the flames. The Slytherin girl was tackled by the Ravenclaw. The fire had almost hit her! I froze. It was all engrossing and whatnot, but surely someone would've noticed me by now...

Besides the snickering coming from some students, due to Jannette's obnoxious cheering, the girl seems to be having the time of her life. Sure, she didn't totally understand the difference in the culture of quidditch vs Dueling, but that didn't stop her from supporting her friend with happy smiles. Though all that changed happiness was soon going to change once Avery decided to drink a potion...
"Avery! You need to-"
Jannette would lower her sign, a wide grin still on her face, "LE'S GO COLL-" but before she could finish her sentence, hot ember flames were coming right towards her! The once happy smile would turn upside down in horror as the hot orange hues would reflect off the girl's glasses. She wanted to move out of the way but she was just completely frozen, and instead, the brunette would flinch back, covering her face with the sign out of instinct. There was no escape, she was gonna get burned, this was bad! 'Is this how I die, god Jannette you really are a dumba-'
"OOOOIIIII!!!" Jannette squealed, her body flung to the ground by a mysterious force, causing her glasses to fall! Some of the students in the stand would get up, gasping, cheering, or just laughing at the fact that the first year, Jannette Applebottom just got tackled by Hunter Argentum! Jannette began to rub her cheek, her hands red from the impact and the feeling of stinging was all over her body. Not only did she feel her hands burning but also she felt a much worse tingly feeling coming from her elbow. "Ahhhh, dah hur'." she'd say in a whiny voice, her throat feeling lumpy as she'd try to fight back tears. Rising up from the floor the girl would then crawl, patting around on the floor until she found her round glasses. Upon inspection, the girl would look at the damage on her glasses; the left lenses were cracked and the hinges on her glasses would cause the temple to become too wide to the point to where when she wore them, they looked crooked on her face. Putting on her broken glasses Jannette would attempt to assess her surrounding. The sign she once held was completely ruined by the weight of the tackle, and just beside her were the now extinguished flames by the Ravenclaw boy. As she was expecting the boy to come to her aid, instead he just left her, causing more teasing from the crowd before speaking, and the girl's face would turn crimson with embarrassment.
"Dammit Avery, the honey and mint were supposed to help make it easier to drink but I guess a potion capable of burning off skin is still pretty hard to control,"
Wiping away some tears in the corner of her eyes with her sleeve, the brunette would pick up her folded-up sign from the floor, her hair now frizzy from the whole ordeal. Jannette felt humiliated; sure it was much better than being set on fire, but in her mind, getting tackled and laughed at was probably the worst thing to happen to her yet at Hogwarts. With her head down low, the girl would slowly walk farther away now, realizing that maybe being in the front rows, wasn't really the best idea, nor does she want the same thing happening twice. Walking a bit farther back, the brunette would come across a ginger-haired girl with freckles, and green eyes -- hey, just like Jannette! "Uhhh yeh don' moin' if I si' 'ere -- please?"1 The Slytherin girl says sheepishly. She looked pathetic at this point; crooked-broken glasses, a big bruise on her right cheek, her hair still a complete mess, and a beautifully squished sign.

Upon lifting his robe to cover his mouth, Hunter immediately headed to a farther location away from the fight. Luckily, he just missed out on getting enveloped in a purplish-blue cloud that he knew would have made him voiceless for a rather unsatisfactory amount of time. Without his voice, he wouldn't be able to continue extinguishing the random fires that escaped and spread amongst the area. He was conducting, moderating, and providing for this duel. Any casualties had the potential of being blamed on him, but he also knew that others would technically be at fault. Still, the young boy had a heart big enough to try and protect those that watched the battle continue.
Upon being far enough, his thoughts ran back to the girl that he had tackled. His eyes darted at the spot he had tackled her, taking note that she was no longer there. He gave out a slight sigh of relief, but of course, his eyes would wander again as to where she had run off towards. Finding her next to another individual, he walked over to make sure she hadn't obtained any bruises from his tackle or Avery's shot of fire. Short and quiet steps, he had to be quick as he couldn't look away from the stage for too long. Her head was low, but Hunter could notice the slightly crooked nature of her glasses. He sighed, annoyed but willing to assist those who required it. Upon approaching the girl, he would immediately lift his wand upon her face. A slight cough would escape Hunter to grab her attention, but before anyone would be capable of reacting or feel the fear that he was possibly going to harm the girl; an incantation rolled off his tongue, "Oculus Reparo." Within a few seconds, the glasses he had broken would repair magically upon the girl's face. Reorientating and fixing cracks that were left. Placing his wand back within his robe, Hunter withdrew a stopwatch and opened it up. Checking the time, slowly counting the second hands as the duel continued. Putting away the stopwatch, he took out two chocolate frogs. One he ate silently for himself, and the other he slid to the girl with a slight nod as perhaps to apologize. Hunter always had a strong sweet tooth, but he was weak in social skills. He noticed the other girl with ginger hair but gave little to no recognition or notice of her. He walked away from the two after this short confrontation, not bothering to say another word. He didn't consider them his problem as of now; what he needed to focus on were the duel and others' safety. He still sat a bit away from the front row, but close enough to gain an eyeful of the action. Eating chocolate to calm his nerves.
