First Day of Study
It was just after classes had finished for the first day and Efelion had so much to learn, that he almost felt overwhelmed with what he had been shown in such a short span. He was used to magic in his life, both of his parents were users of it but there was something different about learning at school and being surrounded by others the same age as him. To combat this intensity Efelion had decided to sit up against the fountain in the courtyard, instead of going to the study hall or the common room for a small amount of looking over the notes that he had taken.Date: Second of September, 2022
Time: 3pm
Location: Water Fountain Center of Courtyard
Weather: Sunset and Semi-Cloudy
Efelion sat down on the edge of the water fountain, the trickling of water was soothing to him and helped him relax as he slowly pulled out his notes, along with a quill and some ink. He was going to re-write the notes more cleanly for later study as when the teachers had been talking he had scribbled them down like chicken scratch. Not to mention, re-writing the notes would help him remember them mentally as well.
The boy sighed in the afternoon sun as he slowly started to scribble down the words almost not noticing the people passing him by, His first day had been interesting, to say the least. Getting used to being around so many people after living in a home of just two parents and a few visitors here and there was quite the shock to him. Efelion knew with time that he would get used to it but it felt as if everything was rushing by him at such speed that he was worried he would forget to take notes down or remember something extremely important to write down as well. He knew he would get used to it over time but the first day had been rather exhausting on his mind.

First Day of Study
Rita was just returning to her dorm for a rest from her classroom after a day`s busy study when she saw an exhausted boy sighing overwhelmingly while sitting beside the fountain and writing something as she passed by the courtyard. It was someone she has never seen, but he seems to be a first-year student overwhelmed by the variety of things happening around the school. As a loving badger who is always willing to help others, she came close to the exhausted boy and introduced herself to him. "Hi, my name is Rita, Rita Su, a second-year Hufflepuff. What`s your name? What are you doing here? You seem to be puzzled and overwhelmed. What happened to you? Do you need any help?" Rita asked him politely and tried to be friendly and warmhearted, "Alright, I suppose you are a first-year student feeling overwhelmed by the variety of things on your first day of school. I understand what you are feeling since I experienced the same nervous and confused feeling when I first came here. Please do not worry, most of the people here at Hogwarts are really friendly and kind, and you can always find help if you have any issues. So is there anything I can help you with? Don`t be hesitant, feel free to ask for help from me. Maybe I can guide you through the school, chat with you, and maybe we can be friends!" After trying to help him, Rita sat somewhere near him beside the fountain and waited for his response.

First Day of Study
Efelion had barely noticed anyone if they had been passing by, that was until someone actually came up to him and started speaking. Efelion felt Bamboozled for a second as he realigned his attention as he took in who was standing before him. Efelion took a second to re-evaluate what was happening before speaking. “I am uh well…” Efelion paused for a second trying to regain his bearings still before he finally caught up to what had happened.
“I am Efelion Berrendow and I’m just…” Efelion looked down at his notes and back up at the Hufflepuff “Trying to retake down my notes in a more clean fashion because my handwriting is terrible.” Efelion answered, “You can call me Effy though, My friends… well friend, call me Effy.”
Efelion slowly closed his notes and sat up a bit more before smiling at Rita “It’s a pleasure to meet you, I think the notes have made me go a bit brain dead but I wouldn’t mind a chat to forget all the notes I just had to copy over”Efelion was just about done for the day when it came from notes, any more and his head may have explored “What is the first year like? Is it always this tough?” Efelion asked wondering if the problem was that he was just unable to learn as easily as others. He prided himself on being a book worm but now it felt like all he had read was giving him no knowledge of what they were actually learning.

First Day of Study
Hearing that the boy was just retaking his notes to make it neater, Rita felt a bit sorry for disturbing him but since that Ravenclaw boy agreed to forget his notes for a second and have a chat with her, that may not annoy him. "Since you are busy retaking your notes, Effy, let me just keep this chat short so you can have enough time to focus on your study. Sorry for disturbing you from your studies, and listen to me for a second." She replied to him patiently, "Actually, my handwriting is also not very good, but as long as you can read what you write, that should be no problem. Well, the beginning of the first year may seem a bit confusing and overwhelming, since you enter a brand-new environment with many new faces, and there is a lot to take in. But please don`t worry, most of the people here are nice and friendly, and there are a lot of fascinating activities on campus that you can participate in to interact with new people, make new friends, and have a ball. I suggest you participate in some clubs or other school activities besides studying so that you can interact with new people and make more friends making your life as a first-year student easier. Please don`t worry too much, as soon as you get familiar with this school, you will no longer feel overwhelmed and begin to enjoy the colorful school life here at Hogwarts. As for studying, I think it is quite hard at the beginning, but if you continue to work hard like this, you should be able to get the hang of it and make progress. I see your efforts, and I believe you can get better at studying if you keep on working hard. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me! I will try my best to help you! Do you have anything else to ask me? If you don`t have any questions, I shall leave this courtyard and return to my dorm, and you can spend the rest of the time on your study." After offering kind suggestions to Effy, Rita looked closely at him to see how he will respond to her.

First Day of Study
Efelion smiled at the kind words and the gesture. Rita was nice to him and he appreciated her words of wisdom, it made him feel a little more at ease knowing that it was normal for everyone to feel the way he did at the start. The less stress on his mind the better and easier it was for him to concentrate on his studies.
“I appreciate the advice it helps a lot knowing others felt the same way the first time they were in my situation” Efelion spoke softly with his smile “I Don’t think I have any other questions at the moment but I appreciate the offer, I’m sure we will see each other around the school again soon?”
Efelion was not sure how often he would see students in the second year yet as it had only been a day but he was pretty confident that it would be often seen as the school timetables ended around the same times universally except he had heard older years get study periods as well. Efelion slowly started to open his notebook again as he realized he also would have to head back to his own dorm room soon to start getting ready for dinner. He believed he could fit in a few more mins before heading off himself.
Efelion looked back up at Rita and spoke again “It was nice meeting you Rita, I appreciate the advice” He said smiling at her “It has helped me feel a lot calmer about things.”

First Day of Study
"You are welcome, Effy, it`s my pleasure to help you. I think as seniors, we ought to try our best to help first-year students become familiar with Hogwarts and try to answer their questions to make them feel less nervous, confused, or overwhelmed. Besides, I enjoy giving my helping hand to anyone who is in some sort of trouble, and that gives me a sense of achievement." Rita lifted her head and looked at Effy politely to respond to him after hearing his thanks for calming him down, "Anyway if there are no further questions, I shall leave the courtyard to get some dinner and go back to my dorm to take a rest since the night is gradually coming. You can stay here to finish your studying if you want, or you can leave to have dinner or take a rest. It`s a pleasure to meet you and help you with some concerns, and hope to see you next time! By the way, I am joining the bottle spinning event at the great lake where you can spin the bottle, show some cute affections to the person you are paired with, and create some drama at the start of the school year! It`s a great opportunity to interact with new people or even find a love interest! The event starts on Sept. 5th, so don`t miss it if you are interested in this event! I shall go now, catch you later! Have a great night!"
After saying goodbye to Effy, Rita left the courtyard and went to the kitchen to get some food, before heading to her dorm to take a rest. On her way, Rita thought, "That Ravenclaw boy seems to be a nice and polite guy, and we may become friends. He reminds me of when I was a first-year student just arriving at Hogwarts. At that time, I was also extremely confused and overwhelmed by the number of information here, and don`t know where to start. I also asked a senior as my mentor to guide me around the school. She said the exact same thing I am saying to him. However, as I familiarized myself with the school as time goes by, try to participate in activities, interact with people, and make new friends, I gradually become comfortable around the school. It takes some time, but I believe he would feel comfortable around the school eventually. Anyway, I am glad I can offer some help to him and hope I could meet him at the bottle-spinning event or somewhere else sometime afterward, and develop our relationship."
