Summer Camp '22 Prank War III

The sky had started to fall dark. Pax had been camping outside, just waiting for the perfect moment to strike. They had been discussing with the group, and divided each opponent among each member of their team, and Nick Iris had been their chosen target.

For their prank, they had decided to go simple, yet effective. Clutching the dungbombs that they had retrieved from an unknown source (wink, wink), they had been channelling all the patience they had into waiting outside the tent for all the occupants to leave. And finally, the tent was empty.

Carefully, they snuck into the tent, careful not to knock anything or move anything or leave any trace that they were there. If they had calculated the times correctly and observed enough, they only had a few minutes.

A dungbomb was placed at the end of each of the beds, in a few random trunks, and tucked away under various items. Pax had to ensure they were all prepared and ready to go off within 5 minutes, when everyone would have returned to the stinky madness.

At least, that was the plan.

Hearing footsteps not too far, Pax quickly secured the last dungbomb in place before hurrying out and peeking from around a neighbouring tent.

Emma had no clue what she was doing. She had debated participating but in the end had decided that it sounded like fun, and everyone signing up knew what they were getting into. She still felt a little bad about it, and a little weary that she might not be showing herself in the best light prefect wise, but she had managed to push most of the guilt down by just reiterating that one line. Everyone had signed up and knew what the event entailed. Well not precisely but they knew it would likely end up in being pranked at least once, if not multiple times.

Having been a rule-follower for all of her life, except for that one detention, Emma had had to rack her brain to try to come up with something even remotely prank-worthy. It had taken quite a bit, and Emma had leaned on her muggle roots to do a traditional TPing, well sort of. She had decided to add a bit onto that. Now in dark clothes, and a dark hoodie with the hood pulled up all the way and the strings tied tightly so only the smallest bit of her face peeked through, Emma tiptoed carefully towards the target she had agreed to take on.

Emma had heard of the older Gryffindor student, but hadn’t yet met him. And honestly, she hoped to not run into him at this time. Bad enough, he might know that there was a possibility it had been her. Reaching the tent, she quietly grumbled as she tripped over something that she couldn’t make out in the darkness. Pulling the pre-sodden toilet paper which was a nasty clump, Emma placed it carefully on the ground, and started just as carefully peeling the layers apart. Breaking up the lines in rows of 10 or 20, she tiptoed carefully to the right side of the tent entrance, reaching as high as she possibly could before stabbing the safety pin she had gotten from the friendly groundskeeper into the fabric of the tent. Quickly moving across to the other side, she hooked the toilet paper in a similar style, just a bit lower than the first end.

Repeating the creeping and pinning actions, she saw that her effect was a little messy but overall it seemed to be holding up well against its own weight. Only one side had partially ripped, and she hoped that it would remain like that until her target walked through. Though honestly this one was a bit tricky for a targeted prank, only because she couldn’t really peek in to see if Noah was the only one in there or if he was even inside. If he wasn’t, her prank would either be triggered by someone else, or be discovered as they went to enter the tent. Looking closely, she could see bits of dirt and grass had clung to the wet toilet paper, making it look even grosser. Emma shivered as she pulled back to hide behind a tent close-by, wanting to see if her prank had worked. Giggling slightly, she carefully peeked around the tent she hid behind.

This prank would be the best thing ever if it succeeded, she had asked. Or well begged to have George Rees be her victim of the night. Perhaps it was the begging that got her George or maybe no one else wanted him. Whatever it was, Quinn would greatly enjoy this.

The prank she had in mind could be considered 'boring' but it would be so satisfying. Reaching Georges tent Quinn would grab what she asked the grounds keeper for. A somewhat small tarp, and a shovel. The rest she needed was all outdoors.

Being as quite as possible, to not wake anybody up. She ever so carefully dug a hole in front of the tents entrance. Every so often she would stop to make sure nobody was awake. Once she was satisfied with how deep it was she would cover it up with the tarp. Then she grabbed every loose item on the ground, leaves, some grass. And covered the tarp with it.

If some of the tarp was showing, hopefully that would be fine. She got most of it. There were just a few spots, a sleepy George would hopefully not be observant enough to see it. The idea of this was that he would walk out and step on what he would think was solid ground. Then fall into the hole, simple.

She went to go and hide to see the outcome of her prank.

Sophia crept as silently as her clumsy feet would allow through the darkness that corrupted the normally bright and cheerful grounds the summer camp took place on.

On her back was a backpack with a small collapsible shovel, an old blanket, and some water.

Normally - despite the fact she wasn’t technically afraid of the dark - she would be at least somewhat hesitant to creep into the night like this. Where she’d grown up, she’d have been likely to encounter a bear, and old habits died hard. Thankfully she wasn’t alone.

Amelia - her best owl friend in the whole world - was on her shoulder, and the nocturnal bird gave her a burst of courage she normally mightn’t have felt.

The owl - despite being small enough to fit in her palm - had insisted on helping with Sophia’s prank on Reena, and she was grateful for it. Amelia was normally the type to shake her beak disapprovingly at Sophia’s mischief.

Sophia was just happy to see Amelia’s outfit. The baby owl was wearing an adorable little sun hat and in her tiny beak was a small plastic shovel, no more than a couple inches long. It was the perfect size for the cute little owl, and it perfectly matched Sophia’s own shovel.

Sophia finally found the tent - with the help of a quick Lumos - that had Reena Delgado’s name on it. She was to be the blue-head’s target.

Sophia nodded to the spot on the ground in front of the tent and readied her own shovel. She whispered softly to her owl friend.

”This is the spot, Amelia,” she whispered as she started digging as silently as she could in front of the entrance of the tent.

If her calculations were right it was about one in the morning so she had plenty of time to finish her little dig. As her shovel dug into the earth - and so did Amelia’s, though her shovelfuls were smaller than teaspoonfuls - an hour flew by in a sweaty, exhausting rush. Then another hour. And another.

When the pair finished, the hole was about four feet deep and their water supply was greatly diminished. Any deeper, and she’d be stuck herself. She pulled an old blanket from her backpack and threw it over the hole, putting rocks on the edges to make sure the blanket was pulled taut. Then she shoveled a light layer of dirt atop the blanket to cover it. In the dark she couldn’t even see the blanket.

Now all she had left was to hide the leftover dirt and find a good vantage point.

An hour later, she was resting on a mound of dirt about thirty or forty feet away, watching for the spectacle that awaited.

Moderation

Perpetrators Round 1: Team 4

Needing to assault three different tents, the Team was able to spread out their members to effectively hit all their foes in a coordinated effort. While most were successful in their strikes, they weren't entirely free of mishaps.

@Kim Sato seemed to have a very personal vendetta against @Piérre Marchonné and concocted a creative and messy little plan for vengeance! Armed with a plastic container filled with paint, water, glitter glue, and some sneaky flowers, they would cast Flipendo successfully to launch the plastic container right into Pierre's chest. The concoction would erupt all over the unfortunate camper to paint them in glittery glory. The paint would also splatter the tent a fair bit to add to the aesthetic of being ruined.

@Pax Zhang and @Emma Wynn took their mischievous talents to a separate tent and found similar success. Pax placed a few dung bombs on a timer to surprise @Nick Iris in their tent. Luckily for Pax, the timer worked to perfection. After a couple of minutes in the tent, Nick would start to catch the exceptionally foul odor now eminating accross the room.

A bit later, @Noah Jupe would run into Emma's creative little toilet paper trap when exiting the tent. The sopping paper that looked a bit dirty from having been on the ground, would give the child a nice unsettling hug. Emma may have a future in the magical arts of TP.

The Digging Delinquents, @Quinn Root and @Sophia Nelson decided they would be digging some nice holes for a couple targets to fall into. Quinn showed exceptional strength and hiding ability as they were able to effectively hide their pit. @George Rees must not have been paying attention as they stepped right on the tarp and plummeted into the small pit by the tent entrance.

Even if Amelia was definitely doing most of the work, Sophia was able to dig a beautiful hole for @Reena Delgado to fall into. However... The Groundskeeper was taking a stroll around the camp while enjoying a particularly delicious apple when suddenly...They fell straight into a hole. The apple flew from his hand into the dirt and the man grumbled in irritation as he filled the discovered hole. He vowed to find the culprit... But Reena would escape the shame of falling into a hole!

• There will be the Perpetrator Phase and Victim phase for each round
• At the start of each round, one team will be designated the ‘Perpetrators’. Their job is to plot and prank the other tent/group. The Perpetrators will have one week to post any plotting and attempted pranks before there will be a Moderation post. This Moderation will roll to see the successes and failures of your pranks and stealth. (You don’t want to be found out!)
• Each member of the Perpetrators can either do an individual prank or work with teammates for larger pranks to improve the success rate and scale of the prank.
• The other group/tent will be designated as ‘The Victims’ of that round. After the moderation, the Victim team can react to the successful or failed pranks against them and begin plotting their own revenge. This Victim Phase will also receive one week.
• Once the Victim Phase ends, the team roles will swap and a new round will begin. So if Team A is the Perpetrator in Round One, Team A will be the Victims in Round Two.
• If supplies are needed for certain pranks, the Groundskeeper is happy to provide them with no questions asked for they are a strong supporter of creative expression.

Round 1: Victims Phase for Team 1 + Team 2 + Team 3

In this Victim Phase, the designated Victims of the round will be given an OC week to react to the successful and failed pranks done to them. They can also begin to plan their own retaliation pranks to start getting a bit of revenge.

There are no required actions during the Victim Phase, as it will be followed by Round 2's Perpetrator phase where the Victims of round 1 can do their pranks. However, if all of the Round 1 victims wish to post their prank action during this Victim phase, I will happily moderate it and bypass the additional week.

Perpetrators: Team 4

• The Perpetrators do not need to post in this phase and have no actions to take in the victim phase. However, you can post reaction posts to your successful pranks if you wish. They will not be moderated but can allow you some IC reactions. Otherwise, your next post would be after being pranked.

Action: Getting dressed, covered in tp, angrily changes, goes outside to clean up

Noah was fully prepared to go out for the day. He put on his clothes- wondering if he should go commando today- but decided against that as he saw some cool superhero wear for the day, consisting of all of his clothing- superman socks, batman underwear, green lantern t-shirt, and black panther shorts. He sat down, pulling on his socks, then looking for his shoe, remembering that he left it outside. He got up, and took a short quick paced jog towards the entrance of his Poison tent.

After all, Don't Go Breaking My Heart had a place for him. And he was covered with wet and dirty toilet paper. He turned around, and saw his tent was coated in toilet paper. "WHO DID THIS? WHO RUINED MY TENT? I WILL RUIN YOUR DAYS IF YOU TOUCH ME!" He stormed inside, angrier than a hornet in a can.

He agressively and angrily ripped off all of the toilet paper, off his clothes, and his shirt and shorts were feeling wet. So he took them both off, knowing there probably was someone in the tent, but he wasn't bare. Anyone in there would see that he was wearing his superman underwear- for a brief second, as he put on khakis quickly, and continued scavenging for a shirt, as he decided on one that said "It's time for revenge. After all, revenge is a dish best served cold."

Now he had to go outside and tear off the toilet paper off the tent. How great is that? A short boy trying to get stuff off of things that are high up. He has never felt more embarrased in his life. And his tears started coming.

The day was great! Summer camp was fun! He did miss home quite a bit. He missed his siblings, his parents and grandparents. Magic was amazing, but he did miss some of his muggle things. It was also odd calling his parents and basically his whole family muggles. They were human, just didn't have any magic.

He walked into his tent singing the lyrics to the jester, it was a song by bad flower. He found the bands music very good. He walked to the bed that he claimed, and grabbed out his notebook. He wrote the days activities in it. He would tell his parents, about camp when he got back home.

He was enjoying himself.

Sniff

"oh god" he had just gotten slapped in the face with the most disgusting smell. Ever. "What the hell is that smell!?!" He could feel tears in the corner of his eyes. He aggressively shock his head as the smell hit him again.

"Ahhh! Ewwww" He cried out, And held his breath running out of the tent. He ran a few good feet out, before letting out a sigh of Relief that the outside air didn't smell like dung. His happy feeling was soon replaced, with confusion and a hint of anger.

Nick looked around for the culprit, but found none. He sat in the grass with plenty of hopes the smell would just disappear.

Round 1: Perpetrator Phase

It is time for the three allied teams to strike forth and take their revenge!

In this Perpetrator Phase, the designated Perpetrators of the round will be given an OC week to plot, plan and attempt to unleash pranks on the other team.

Perpetrators: Team 1 + Team 2 + Team 3

• At the end of the week, moderation rolls will be done to determine the success and failures of the pranks. Failing might be just as entertaining as succeeding...
• Each Perpetrator will be allowed to take 1 action in this phase. The action can either be a specific prank that they are trying to pull or designating that they are assisting another one of the perpetrators with their prank for a higher success rate.
• If your action is an attempted prank, you must also designate either an individual target or the whole victim team. Attempting to prank the entire team with one prank will have very high difficulty.
• Perpetrators can post multiple times in the phase (for IC discussion/strategy) if desired but only their final post's action will be considered.
• Be creative but realistic with what your pranks are. Chaos and mischief are highly encouraged!

Victims: Team 4

• During the Perpetrator Phase, no action is required by the victims. You are simply the targets of their wrath!
• Once the moderation has been posted, then the Phase will shift, and your characters can react to the successful and failed pranks to begin plotting revenge.
