The sun stretched over the grounds, the summer holiday is nearly there. Weeks turning to days away. Chatter as thick as the stench at the school could be heard. Talk of the upcoming holiday and plans. Gossip of the hexwizard tournament and summer games with the other schools. It was hard to escape them... the whsipers these days at durmstrang.

Charles kept to himself, minding his own business and rarely interacted with the others. Wanting to survive till the first day of the summer holiday although he hadn't figured that part out yet... his plans... where would he stay? Would he go back with his brother to their family or owl a friend? Walking through the corridors of the school allowed time for him to think... pounder the options... or invoke in a situation...

Walking alone. Passing others, groups conversing among themselves. Whispering. The blonde felt his eyes dart about, following the faces of students. Their moving mouths. Inaudible whsipers. The teen inhaled, his eyes longingly watching his peers. A part of him wished for that... that social experience.

Walking alone. He felt a older student push past him, his shoulder slipping to the side from them. Charles shot the guy a galance about to fire off a few words when an group of students brushed past him, pushing him aside as if he wasn't even there. Stepping back. The teen looked up, watching others as they walked to their destination and chatter among themselves. Rubbing his right shoulder, the thought of all those peers pushing past him... as if he isn't even here...

The teen inhaled. Eyes ahead. He felt something within him grow hallow. The thought of being pushed aside, of being forgotten crossed his mind. Pushing aside strands of hair as his breathing escalated. He couldn't- didn't want to be forgotten... to fade into the background... he tried... tried to remember his captain; Niffler's words but his eyes darted for the boy and his emotions started to get the better of him as he exhaled.

Emotions surging, unable to keep still or think straight as he pushed himself to the middle of the hall then felt himself rise a fist and swing at the closest person to himself....

Violence for Violence:
It was a surprisingly sun-filled, lazy day at Durmstrang that we find our dear Johannes relishing in, strolling leisurely some paces behind his Hellhounds in the busy hall and half-heartedly maintaining his attentions to the ongoing conversation between his adamancy not to change his path. If the people he passed moved, they moved. He'd dodge if there was no other way, but it was just easier to remain behind his established group when parting the crowds.

While it was less 'golden hour and clear skies' weather, one couldn't help but appreciate the white sunlight casting through the clouds, reflecting off the blinding snow on a campus that could have accurately been called a winter wonderland had this poor describer not witnessed the hellhole that was Russia in the dead of winter. You didn't need to wish for a white Christmas when every day meant ice.

The days were slipping past quickly as they hastened towards the tail-end of the school year, shifting gossip topics from the stress of finals to the potential excitement of summer plans back home. Johann's caginess over his own summer ideas when asked worked wonders to signal a spotlight change, but pulling the topic away from his engagement also meant it was easier for his thoughts to drift.

Abruptly stopping in order to call attention to something funny he'd seen, it was only through his peripheral vision that he noticed the approaching figure of a tall, black-clad blonde itching for an outlet. Johannes scarcely had the time to wonder what he did this time to deserve such an aggressive advance before a fist was flying at him, attached to a face he'd only occasionally seen around but never bothered to interact with. The blow was heavy but distracted and, with a surprised shout, he went stumbling back a few steps at the sheer force of it. Instincts already jumping towards the offensive, he attempted to steady himself with one hand gripping at his injured shoulder, already bemoaning the bruised explanation he would have to spin later.

"Hey, what the hell, man?" It was more out of indignance than true understanding that drove Johannes to roughly shove back at his random attacker, masking his deep confusion with a posturing sneer. "Fuck you too!" The sheer audacity of man?? Now, Johannes had gotten in more than his fair share of scuffles in the main hall (usually quickly broken up, because fighting in such a traffic-heavy zone was a stupid move when brawls could happen in less obvious areas but it wasn't like he could just let things happen in front of him), but never before had someone been so shameless. Never before had he himself been so blameless! For the life of him, he couldn't wrack his brain for the possible offence he'd wrought upon his fellow student for this treatment, other than simply existing in this dude's vicinity.

Desperately looking past the crowd in some attempt to alert his pack of mates of the scuffle he'd somehow gotten himself into, Johannes was extremely disappointed to learn that they'd disappeared into the wall of people, most likely having run up ahead in some scheme or another. From where he was, he could barely see the back of Marcell's head towering over their schoolmates, utterly oblivious to Johann's strife even at the rear of the loudmouthed band of people they claimed mutual allegiance towards. He should have never dragged his feet around while walking if this was what it was going to get him.

In Russian.
The Niffler’s week had been arduous and abysmally solitary, overworking himself from each dawn into late evening. After all the toil, all he wanted was to be with his people. Taking a day to restore himself, the promise of free time gave the boy a boost of energy and sent him jogging over the grounds. The crisp greenery and emerging buds of high latitude blooms promised the coming of summer and the new challenges of the Summer Games and Hexiwizard Tournament. He spotted a low-hanging branch beckoning him higher, so Valentin grabbed onto a dark-barked octopus-like tree and ascended. He found a comfortable roost within the tree’s woody crown and surveyed the area around him. Maybe he could spot a friend. If he really lucked out, maybe he could find Romeo.

The first person Valentin recognized was Charles Alluring, walking alone in deep contemplation. What was on his mind, wondered the seeker. How was he dealing with his life since their last talk? Charles slipped away into the castle, but Valentin wouldn’t leave it there. Something wasn’t right, yet the seeker’s sights on him were already broken before he could even drop down from the tree. Breaking into a run, Valentin had to cover considerable ground in trying to catch up with the chaser. The doorway into the castle was packed with people, and Valentin had to push through the teeming bodies in order to slip into the main entrance. Thin and nimble, getting through was not difficult for Valentin, who was not shy about physicality. Looking around, Valentin wondered which corridor Charles followed, but he could not deduce where the blonde was going. There was really nothing going on that day, and it was quite early to return to the dorms. The best Valentin could hope to do was pick a corridor and walk.

It was then that Valentin turned a corner and ran into the tower of perfectionist muscle that was Romeo. It was a characteristic scent that first made Valentin aware of whom he bumped into, confirmed as he took a step back to crane his neck up at the tall boy.

“A-ah. Romeo. Oops.” Valentin’s crooked smile barely confined the look of a niffler who had just fallen into an open Gringott’s vault.

“I was wanting to talk to you, about those seeking time trials. I feel like I’m on the verge of meeting the target but… I keep thinking, maybe our strategy needs to be adjusted. That, and selecting a keeper… Do you have… some time today? About Charles, too, I think we should talk…” Valentin’s eyes enlarged with a mixture of hope and concern.

The hallway was probably not the best place to have such a conversation, as a lot of people were moving through at the time. It was already too late when Valentin’s keen eye spotted a telltale flash of blonde hair deep inside the crowd. The crack of a punch ripped through the air, followed of course, by shouting.

"Hey, what the hell, man?" came the indignation of Johannes Sauer. "Fuck you too!" In the same instant as Johannes began shoving back, Romeo was already running into the fight. Valentin slid in behind the Medvedista as he cleared the way, following closely in his slipstream as if in a finely-honed flight maneuver.

It wouldn’t have been the first time Charles had started a fight. For some reason, most of Niffler’s friends had this tendency, but what else could Valentin do but throw himself into the fray to keep them standing? Charles had saved his life, and Valentin was determined to make the boy survive, no matter what castastrophes Charles got himself into. The boy had bad shit going down, Valentin understood, so Charles clearly needed a shield while finding his center again… even if the boy was prone to randomly bashing others.

The White Immortal slipped forward under Romeo’s arm, outpacing him just long enough to launch Valentin’s body into Charles’s path to take on any further oncoming damage. If there was one thing Valentin’s body excelled at, it was speed.

“Oiiii!” shouted the seeker as he spun around in front of the blonde. Back turned to Charles, Valentin’s long arms and rather tall frame pressed out to buy the boy some space.

On this particular afternoon we find our beloved protagonists in, Cielle hadn't even been looking to stir up trouble or cause mischief for once. This time, all she'd wanted to do was find Johannes to rant to about the latest letter she'd received from home, for God's sake, but of course she somehow always ended up in these situations. Even when she wasn't actively seeking trouble, it still managed to worm its way into her day and fucked it all up.

There were a lot of people in the hallway. With a deep sigh, Cielle started weaving her way through the crowd and craning her neck like a particularly clueless giraffe in an attempt to find her best friend, but she didn't have to look for long. The sight of a particularly aggressive-looking student in black swinging at a seemingly innocent bystander not too far away had caught her attention, and the angry yell of indignation that followed alerted her to Johannes' position. Oh, for fuck's sake. What had this idiot gotten himself into now? Cielle ran through the crowd to reach him, muttering quick apologies to the people she'd tripped and knocked over or those whose toes she'd accidentally stepped on in her haste.

She'd been in a fair amount of fights, having grown up in a particularly unstable environment that was the circus. She knew how to hold her ground and she could fight pretty well if she had to, but she really wasn't in the mood today, and of course today was the day that some random kid decided to pounce on Johannes. It wasn't like she could just turn around and leave him to defend himself now that she'd seen him attacked! "What the fuck did you do?" she snapped at him as she arrived. The question came out accusatory, which was definitely not Cielle's intention, but to be fair to her, it was hard to get the tone delivery right when she was about to get into a massive fight with someone - or rather, three people now, apparently, with the sudden arrival of two other students who seemed like they were on the first dude's side. She would not wait for Johannes' answer, instead aiming a punch at blindly at one of them - any of them.

She wasn't picky.

Midday at Durmstrang often entailed a small patch of free time between classes if you had a schdule that worked consistently and like the stability of a clockwork schedule. I tended to be a bit of a creature of habit. I liked to be consistent in work ethic and determination in all aspects of my life, even if persistent perfectionism could be a curse on the way my mind cycled between school and personal dramas as of late. Unfortunately my inner dialogue can sometimes be rather negatively repetitive. I have a rather unlikable tendency to plan for the worst no matter the circumstance, coming up with ways to react to said misfortune in the worst case scenario. But, aha! This was a skill that would be particularly useful in the very near future.

Sighing, I flip put a black pocketbook filled with my slightly messy half-cursive. It contains annotations, notes, and comments of the disposition and ability of every member of Durmstrang's Team Hydra... As well as what little we knew of the other schools. I had been taking notes as soon as I had been persuaded to rejoin Quidditch as a Beater. Let's just say that Val is rather good at persuading people if he wants to.

As the new co-captian, I have applied everything from my knowledge of previous years into concocting potential tactics, trying my best to find loopholes and advantages that we have over other teams. I want to win this year. I know Valetin does as well.

But first we need a Keeper... Desperately.

Brushing past a small group, a darker clad student is shoulderchecked by me on accident. For the most part, I have found that when I strife through the hallways at half pace, people tended to move around me... But there were always an accidental run in or two that occured now and again.

"Sorry about that!" I try to speak over the crowd... But the figure has already moved on, lost among the shorter students. I thought I caught a glimpse of blonde hair... But I couldn't be certain with the red and the black hues swirling about.

Brow furrowed in concern and slight curiosity at that strange interaction, I watch after the swimming crowd for a bit longer before shaking my head and turning the corner, my school back/rucksack swinging sharply around the corner at the sudden change of momentum.

"Probabilmente di fretta... Probably in a hurry..." I murmur to myself as I look down at the book again with its indecipherable symbols, some written in Russian, some in Italian. Whichever one I had felt more confident to use in the moment.

No sooner had I been about to fully make the turn about the corner, a very familiar, lithe, pale Seeker came flying right into my arms. Closing the notebook in one hand to catch him and prevent him from nearly running me right over with the force of his determined momentum, not terribly unlike how he flew so swiftly and speedily towards that gold snitch, I find myself suddenly in good humor by this circumstance.

"Woah! Slow down there Val! You're not on the Quidditch Pitch right now." I quickly brush his clothed a bit, straightening out small imperfections from his wild bursts of energy. "Slow down... relax. You're like a Bludger when you're moving fast enough!"

I wave him off as he hastily apologizes. "Not a problem. Don't apologize." I assure him gently. Always just a little nervous, I've found him to be. Someone to reassure and soothe. Worrier. Like me. Needs a reminder every once in a while that the fate of the world isn't always resting on your shoulders.

As soon as he mentions time trials, though, I frown, flipping the notebook open again and checking the Silver Nifflers seeking and catching times. Almost perfect. Almost always under 2 minutes if not better when not harried by outside distractions or players hurling bludgers and blatches about. "Your seeking and chasing times are excellent. Well above average." I shake my head. "It's only when we start adding in Bludgers and players that you slow a bit, only by a few seconds... But that's because you've become the primary target of, well, everything." A very natural part of the game that is my own job to perform against the opposing team with my trusty, heavy, maplewood bat.

The mention that we still need a Keeper. I close my eyes and hum under my breath. "Yesssss... I know it. I've had some leads, and one is looking promising. I was just about to go and mee_"

The sound of skin hitting skin causes me to suddenly cut myself short, as a curse flies through the air.

"What the..." I whisper, peering over the lower crowd to witness the scene unfolding before me.

The dark clothed person I had accidentally shoulderchecked had just finished following through from a punch they had thrown at...

My potential Keeper.

What. The. Hell?!

Without missing a beat, I spin on my heel, dropping my notebook and my rucksack to the ground with a heavy thump as with gentle but firm hands I part the red sea of people slowly drawing to the fight and storm towards the confrontation, a look of pure, unamused rage spreading across my features. Not. The. Time for this.

I don't like being aggressive. There is too much anger and resentment to be had when one is angry. I don't know how this fight started.

But I am going to end it before someone gets irreversibly hurt.

Even as I storm into the fray, Valetin slips beneath my arm and makes his way to the fight first, I try and snag for him, but miss.

'Valetin!' I complain internally as the skinny seeker throws himself into the midst of the fray. At least he's trying to split the two of them up, with himself a center component between the two warring halves...

Was that Charles in the dark clothes? Val had mentioned having a conversation with him. With this new development. I don't think I could have agreed more.

Before I can ruminate on the prospect, another blur of movement suddenly leaps in from the far side of the fight, looking as if they would swing at anybody who came close.

And Val seemed a potential target.

Setting my jaw as I rapidly assess the situation, seeing the parts in motion, the momentum of people and objects... Sounds change into dull roars as my mind recalibrates into defensive mode. Three objectives; neutralize threat, protect innocents, and cause the least harm.

Valetin first, the one who had not started a fight.

"Duck, Valetin!" I roar over the crowd with my thunderous baritone. Moments later, bicep rippling as I draw it back into a haymaker, I've collided with the flying wonder's wild punch with one of my own, having aimed for their leading shoulder in an attempt to knock their blow aside and cripple their potentially dominant arm for future attempted blows (Acc roll 29). Digging in my heels after the attempted strike, I puff my chest up and bend my knees, making my body into a wall of flesh and muscle between my new opponent and Valetin, the reminiscent pose of a wrestler, ready for action and reaction.

"Sorry about that." I apologize to the newcomer... A female. "I don't do that to people I randomly run across, I promise. Just trying to deescalate the fight before it gets out of hand and you came out of nowhere..." I shrug, grimacing with a "What-can-you-do" expression.

"Duck, Valetin!" roared Romeo, bicep rippling as he drew it back for a punch. To Valentin’s advantage was not only his natural lightning-quick reflexes, but his days of practice coordinating movement together with Romeo. Reaction speed of duck [d20 : 16] Valentin dropped immediately as the punch soared over his head.

Romeo’s fist began in the chambered position, palm facing down in a classic upset punch as it barrelled towards Cielle’s shoulder. Cielle’s blow, arcing towards the center of action into which Valentin threw himself, glanced to the side as Cielle utterly failed to dodge Romeo’s punch. Evasion check [d20 : 1] vs 29 ACC. Feel free to describe this crit fail in extra spicy terms. The boy trained in martial arts in earnest, and his punches were not thrown to just put on a show.

Despite the impressively well-formed punch, it did not find the correct nerve to disable Cielle’s right arm disabled check = 7, did not roll 10. Meanwhile, ambidextrous Cielle’s right-hand punch deflected 28 degrees to the right of Romeo as he dug in his heels to shield Valentin with his wall of finely-honed flesh and muscle.

Cielle, allegedly entering the fight to defend Johannes, instead deflected towards Johannes, who was about to talk back to Cielle’s accusation. Cut off, Johannes dodged out of the way of Cielle’s blow, though caught off guard [d20 : 13] + 10=23 EVA vs. [d20 : 6] + 9=15 ACC. The turn of events was disturbing, bringing out Johannes's feelings of confusion and anger despite not really wanting to start a fight. Yet, Johannes was caught in the middle of it all now. Description as per DMs.

Valentin had been through enough fights now that he was in perfect control of his emotions, knowing exactly what he stood for and where his strengths lie. Watching Romeo’s massive form curl defensively in front of him, Valentin smiled in admiration. This was their first fight together, and the Italian was as beautiful as on that day in the sparring room. Valentin would not let him down.

The white seeker stayed behind Romeo, deciding to reduce the number of possible attackers while inflicting the least amount of damage possible. Pulling out a shiny new wand, Valentin aimed the honey-brown stick at Cielle, who had come the closest to striking Romeo. Enjoy your wand now before I break it again, kid. After Valentin put one hand on Romeo’s back in a loose variant of what trainings often refer to as ‘the buddy backpack,’ Romeo would constantly be able to feel the niffler’s location based on small tugs of adjustment. They could now move as a unit and Romeo would block anything incoming directly from the front (though not necessarily other angles). To Valentin’s advantage, he would also be able to sense where Romeo was moving and thereby avoid accidentally hitting him in most circumstances. Leaning forward and reaching his arm out below Romeo’s right arm, Valentin called out:

The teen stumbled back from the shove, his breathing escalated as his eyed widen on his fist touched. A boy maybe a year or two older but rather good looking at least to the blonde going through a gay crisis.

Fuck why did he have to be hot

The teen shallowed the thoughts. Eyes widening as his mind spiraled with thoughts... he never did we with thinking... "I-" the words faded. His mouth went dry as his eyes started to flutter close, a numbing in his tongue kept him fromt speaking as his mind spin.

Everything seem to happen in a instant. Such as domains falling. The teen felt his vision blinded by, "Val... I.. this..." His words broken, his mind couldn't focus and his throat felt stiff as his mouth went dry. He watched him put himself in between... wouldn't... he could get hurt? The teen fell back a step, breathing hard... is this who he is? Starting fighting with bystanders and insulting whoever happened to be the closest? He... this couldn't be.... he stared ahead. At the mess he caused.

Romeo then a girl who seens vaguely familiar. Punches thrown. Spells fired. The teen felr the world spiral... he did this didn't he? Is he the problem... the one to blame... always thinking that one group of Durmstrang are the problem, the mess of it all but is he really any better?

Stumbling to the side. The group in vision. The damaged he caused now kn display. Brushing back his hair, holding his head in hands as his breathing escalated. What did he do? Can he not fix it? Does he even want to....

The teen found his eyes on him... the one he punched... the boy... the one he thought of as hot... thoughts spinned and his heart raced, the teen shallowed hard through his breathing and panicking. His heart hummed in his ears as he stared at the boy suddenly it all went silent... kmages dipped to black... a buzzing sound in his ears... the teen felt his feet move, closing in on him... on the one who he punched.

Charles felt the soace closing in beyween them. Darkness surrounding as the buzz grew louder. The teen felt his arms widen with evey step taken, stretching out into a hug like shove on the lad before losing his footing and falling to the ground... steps away from the lad...

His head rested on the floor. Eyes watching him. Unable to look away. The pain started to form with the bump on the back of his head. He knew he should but choosing not to... not stand..

Books squeezed tightly in the small circle of her arms, Greta hurried from class. She had stayed behind to ask their professor some questions, but time had gotten away from her in her interest and now she was rushing. Her curiosity had awarded her with a selection of new books to read through, but she really didn't want to lug them around all day from class to class. Rushing down the halls, her little feet pitter-pattered along the subconscious route back to her living quarters. She would deposit them there, then race to make up the lost time.

"Excuse me..." The density of students seemed to be getting thicker in one particular spot, inhibiting her. She tried to duck and dodge between them, hopping from one foot to the other while sharply rotating her torso as though weaving through poles. That really only got her so far before she came to a veritable crowd of people. "Excuse..." Her voice squeaked ahead of her trying to capture their attention just enough to give her even a tiny fleshy crevice through which to slip. "Excuse me! Yes... I'm... Trying to..."

At this point, she had been forced to a stand-still. Relatively. There was nothing still about the way she bounced impatiently on the balls of her feet, but crane her neck as she might, she couldn't find an easy way through, and her voice no longer seemed sufficient to capture anyone's attention. Was the entire school in this one corridor?? It was like every person a head taller than her had decided to form a human barricade across the hall, and every one of their backs was to her. Like they were watching something.

"What's going..." The bouncing increased. She wasn't looking for a way around them anymore, though, as much as trying to figure out what all the fuss was about. On a good day, she might have been able to hop enough to get a fraction of a glimpse over someone's shoulder. Laden as she was with fragrant tomes, however, today was not that day. "Um... Excuse me... Hello... yes... What's going...."

Then she spotted a the familiar face of her lanky friend. "ROMEO!" She shouted, face alighting with the good fortune of the moment. Based on the way he was peering over the crowd with an invested expression, no doubt he could see what was going on. And surely he wouldn't ignore her. "ROMEO!" She shouted again, hopping and skipping and pushing herself through the outskirts of the bodies to get to him. "What's happeni—" But then he, too, had disappeared, sucked into the wall of bodies to the unknown kafuffle.

"Aaargh..." she whined in frustration.

Fortunately for her, the wall wasn't quite so quick to close up. For a split second there remained the barest hint of a gap, inviting her, coaxing her to take her chances. She took it without hesitation, taking advantage of the boy's wake to cut her way through the masses. Regret showed itself in the whites of widened eyes as she emerged on the other side. Chaos. That's what was happening. She wasn't sure what exactly was going on, but there were fists flying, bodies blocking, and people falling to the ground. Instinct buckled her knees causing her to immediately crouch as though to make herself invisible. The books hugged themselves to her chest like a shield.

"Stop..." she whispered, eyes darting frantically to try to understand what was happening. She spotted Valentin being guarded by Romeo. "Please stop..." Charles was on the ground, not getting up. "He's not moving..." Was he hurt? "Stop fighting!" Was he dead? "Why are you fighting?!"

Violence for Violence:
Before Johannes could receive any information or justification for the unprovoked blow, another body slid between the two in distraction- so thin, pale and white-haired that Jack Frost must have gotten a body double in preparation for summer. Yet the German had not the time to further acknowledge Cottontop’s summon, signalled with a long call for subverted attention, when it became overshadowed by the much-more-familiar appearance of Cielle pushing through the forming thicket of students.

While he knew that his dear friend’s abrasive remark was more out of concern and exasperation, even that knowledge couldn’t protect his already wounded pride from jumping to defend against the absolutely baseless accusation. “I didn’t do shit, Cie, I swea-” His complaints were for nought, however, as Cielle immediately began to insert herself into the budding conflict, fist flying wildly towards their suddenly shared opponents. An ally placed on each offending half of the board, serving as backup and defence. Maybe this wouldn’t be so one-sided. But alas, Cicero's unpredictability seems to strike again...

The last damn thing Johann expected to do with this tide's turn was to be forced to dodge his pseudo-sister's attack, deflected off the frame of someone entirely too tall and frustratingly there without notice. A spark of stunned betrayal struck as he found himself under fire from the supposedly least threatening person in his position, his physical body easily able to dodge but his poor appreciation for the extra help sent chipping at the corners. "Really? You too?!" They were going to have some words later, he swore it! And by that, he would be griping about Cielle's hand in this kerfuffle as she rightfully complained how "it wasn't her fault she missed" and that "he was subpar at expecting stuff" when it came to her. But shush, it was time for him to wallow half-heartedly in the unfortunate moment right now.

Built like a brick shithouse and just as sturdy, it was no wonder that Cielle's reckless attack did little to harm the newest member of the situation (not that Johann would let the matter go so easily). The brunet's powerful-looking arms were made even more apparent by his sudden appearance between them all - jeez, how could some of their peers be so beefy? If the Iron Curtain here had strength anything like Johann's original assailant, Cielle would be feeling that shoulder blow for an inordinate amount of time. But hey, the only not-completely horrible thing about this was that they matched opposite shoulder injuries now and could complain together instead of only Johann being subject to good-natured, only occasionally annoying teasing.

In the span of mere minutes, Johannes and his blonde combatant had been physically separated by the rapid appearance of not one, not two, but three different students attempting to neutralise the tension that had taken over the main hall. Well, in Cielle's case, she wasn't really trying to do anything but defend his honour. Badly. God, he was salty.

His disgruntlement aside, it would be simply remiss not to point out the ridiculousness of the sheer amount of people inserting themselves in such a short time frame and so immediately. Take it from him, this was only occasionally the normal behaviour of fighting in such a crowded space, forced into a ring of pushing spectators egging them on in a neat circle of poorly-kept aggression and publicity. All it was missing was the worried straight-laced students yelling about staff punishment as if they didn't already acknowledge their consequences. Either this was the shittiest party Johannes hadn't been invited to, or no one trusted them not to make more of a scene than they already had.

(Both. The answer was both and, to be fair, he wouldn't trust himself to de-escalate the situation either.)

The first incantation of the conflict sounded as another pale arm reached out behind what was essentially a tank of a human, and a red burst of light struck Cielle dead-on. But much to Johannes' dismay and eternal second-hand embarrassment, Cielle's immediate reaction to the Dancing Feet spell was an angry, frankly disgraceful, reenactment of the macarena. To think that the first dance that came to Cielle's spell-affected body was an overplayed 90s line dance- and how was she able to move her arms so violently in an otherwise non-offensive dance?

Quietly swearing up a storm under his breath and unable to keep the sheer resigned distaste from leaking into his stance, he fished his wand out by the end from a hidden pocket and made the move for the general counterspell. "Fucks sake... Finite Incantatem." (WDC: 9 | [d20: 16] + 8 = 24 | Success) That over with, his good hand shot out to grab her by the scruff of the neck and pull her back to safety next to him, away from the physically intimidating shield of a person who had practically struck the living daylights out of his friend with a single punch. "Stand the hell down, you absolute menace. Just for now." He was going to have a lot of explaining to do for his Hounds, now that even Cielle - who they had put under his protection early on under his sponsorship - was under the line of fire.

Between the headache-inducing emotional whiplash and the fount of decidedly bad adrenaline that fuelled him, he had a feeling that things were going to get even worse. Movement from the cluster of gathered people caught his attention once again as his black-clad puncher (perhaps he should have paid more attention to school gossip if there were so many people he didn't know were going to mess with them) stepped away from behind their fellow students.

The unexpected sight of the other stumbling unsteadily away from the double-person shield that had formed caused Johann's outrage to flicker in sudden concern as he was forced to crane his head up to meet a hazy stare. His opponent, strangely, wasn't looking too hot. And yet this sentiment could only be briefly entertained as Mr Incredible suddenly surged forward, arms spreading out as if a tackle-happy linebacker, seemingly with one purpose in mind. "Look man, I ain't lookin' for no fight!" Physically reeling back from the imminent show of strength, Johannes only fuelled the dizzying amount of spectator thrill as he drew closer to the human-made boundaries, a half-formed plea for peace tumbling off his tongue in some attempt to save himself from getting further attacked.

He heard the reaction from the crowd before he fully recognised what was happening. Jolting forward from his spell of fear with the abruptly changed momentum of a braking car, Johannes made an aborted, most definitely ill-fated and very hindered attempt to grab at his collapsing aggressor, only to grasp air as the blonde went down like a sack of potatoes. "...Shit."

Struck dumb with under-qualification and under the discerning eyes of too many eyes willing him to act, what more could he do but stare blankly in shock at the crumpled figure at his feet, fingers twitching uselessly as if he could make up for his unexpected role in this debacle. He sent a frantic look back at Cielle for some unknown form of aid, deliberately avoiding the attentions of both crowd and companion alike

They were the cause, effect and epicentre of the chaos that would no doubt land their asses all in detention, but no amount of detention could neatly solve the feeling that he had unintentionally played a part in the dude's distress. Fuck, he had to do something, if only to stifle the simmering guilt in his gut. Thanks, Tatsu, for forcing him to act.

"Uh... buddy? You good there?" What a stupid question, Johannes! Of fucking course he wasn't good, Mr Incredible over there was on the floor after some hell of a temporary mental break. So much for steeling yourself against self-criticism. He should have paid more attention to the proper first aid lessons Cielle tried to force onto him- but even if he had done so, Johannes was sure this sort of situation wasn't in the books. Crouching tentatively and feeling as if reaching into a lion's den, his right arm reached out to gently shake the shoulder of Durmstrang's very own Bob Parr in distress. "Yo, blondie?" If things went wrong, he trusted Cie to get the message and cover him if needed, but fuck him if he knew what the hell would happen.
It's the Rule of Beasts.

For a moment, there was a flurry of motion and momentum. My blow knocks away the attempted blow of the flying wonder just enough to deflect it towards my keeper-elect, though to his great credit he takes neatly avoids the blow and seems ready to retaliate given any action furthering his harm. To compound my strike, Valetin follows up with an almost playful dancing charm, a tasteful counter to my obviously brute attack.

Why did recruiting have to be so difficult? The things I did to maintain order around here. Even I had to recognize that my own classmates were sometimes to be feared more than the uncontrollable emotions of the younger years. At least the younger students felt at least apprehension towards me out of fear or respect of my height or status among them. Not that I damaged that. I quite hated it, in fact.

I felt Val's hand on my back, letting me know where he stands beside me. I haven't fought with him on my side much. In fact, I still have a memory of fighting against him and just how cunning he could be in a tactical situation. Knowing where he stands relative to my position would be helpful if the fight continued to fester beyond what I would deem to be healthy.

But at least I knew that I had at least one ally, regardless of the outcome.

The flying wonder, having not made any move to challenge me, makes me believe that for the time being I have an opening to check in on my Keeper. This window is doublefold as Charles suddenly falls to the ground motionless. Had he been hurt?

I glance sideeyed to Val. "Check on Charlie. I've got Johan." I murmur to him before slowly letting down my hackles, keeping my eye on the tomboy brunette as I do so. I'm not letting my guard down entirely. I've seen enough action movies to know how that tends to end.

Johannes is focused on Charlie, and it is now that the small, yet strong voice of Greta reaches my ears. I turn to her first, subtly bending my knees a bit to be a bit less intimidating in stature. "I wasn't planning on being in one. Honest." I shake my head, sighing as I run the back of my neck with my black-gloved right hand. "This... Heh... Isn't the way I imagined my day going." I confessed with embarrassment in my voice. I had been planning on briefly heading to my dorm and making more notations in my new notebook.

Obviously that had not happened.

I glance towards Charles again and squeeze my eyes shut. This team... Hanging by a thread sometimes, I swore.

Humming with exasperation, I open my eyes to focus on Greta again. Despite my fallout and subsequent estrangement with her cousin this last year, she was one that I still held near and dear to my heart, a delicate songbird that was pleasant of eye and company. "I'm sorry for worrying you like that..."

Awkwardly, I now slowly before focusing on Johannes, who is preoccupied with Charlie. "Good dodge." I start, trying to stay calm and diplomatic in this situation. My mind still sings with the potential of battle, whispering with the endless electrical thoughts of tactics and maneuvers that produce a striking hum in both of my ears. An electrifying hum that has been present ever since I had been struck by the white hand of light.

"Ahm... Funny enough I was about to go looking for you, Johan. Following up on potentially joining the Quidditch team." I find myself absentmindedly making a sweep of Johannes' form in an attempt to pick up any significant markers of harm, opting to not mention the fact that Charlie was one of those very players. We would cross that bridge when we got there or until I was asked directly. "Did he hit you anywhere?" I ask, trying to peer around either side of him in an attempt to observe his sides and try to snag a look at his face. A rather unfortunate way to talk about these things... But when would I have another chance to speak with him in the near future with the school year coming to a close with a battery of tests and the incessant need to study?
