Backdated: April 9
Time: 16:00 pm
Weather: sunny, temperate
Note: This is back-dated so all of the foreign schools can spectate. The referee is Lazarus Plott, Headmaster of Ilvermorny. Permission to Sylvain Wyllt to speak as him, just remember he is dramatic.

It had gotten hotter by mid-day, an oppressive just past noon with the humidity and the still, stifling air. Yet as the day progressed, the air became cool again. The house elves labored to remove the confetti and blood off the pitch from the previous game, it was a gruesome, yet strangely colorful sight. Now, once again he sun was shining, the sky was robin-egg blue and there was not a cloud in sight. It was uncommon for such fair weather to grace the Quidditch Pitch, inclimate weather seemed attracted to game days it would seem yet twice in a single day the weather would hold-out. The crowd had already gathered, the chatter of spectators and the idle words of the Professors that tirelessly managed them. The match was being refereed by Headmaster Lazarus Plott of Ilvermorny, as always in "spectacular fashion" Lazarus would make himself known. A burst of color: red, white and blue sparks would herald his appearance alongside a trumpeting fanfare, the man needed to be seen. A known egomaniac, he was an entertainer by initial trade and his penchant for the dramatic never diminished with time.

This was the last match of the year, Slytherin and Gryffindor were historical rivals. They were closely matched for this game -- Gryffindor 210 points earned from 1 win and 1 loss; Slytherin 260 points from 1 win and 1 loss. The both of them would have a long way to go however if they wished to defeat Ravenclaw with 430 points from 2 wins and no losses. Ravenclaw was the favorite to win this year, so it was quite possible the year was over but this might prove to be a 'long game.'

"Hellllooooo Quidditch Fans!" Lazarus' voice boomed. Lights flashed behind him as he swooshed his jewel-toned cape fabulously. "Are you ready to see some violent aerial acrobatics!" His voice was droned out by the cheering as a burst of red smoke went off in front of the Ravenclaw locker doorway. Sorry about the scent, they claimed it was 'crisp apple' but apparently it was 'red hot spice'. The air buuuuurned! The first student would breech the cloud of spicy torment and make their way around the perimeter of the pitch followed by the next and then the next thereafter.

"First is their captain, @Evelynn Decipio -- a third year and a first-string seeker. Her keen eye can see most things, so I would recommend heckling another team there fellas.... Followed by their co-captain, @Pax Zhang -- a first year, relatively new to the role and a second-string beater," he would announce as the two of them got the worst of it. Well the strong mixture of cayenne and cinnamon would linger in their hair for the next several days. This would be followed by "@Elena Jangleton, their second string Seeker and a fourth year." The two ladies had done well for themselves, the previous year Gryffindor had been the champion house and played in the summer games. Surely they were hopeful for a repeat. She would be followed by "@Akari Kato" who would breech the thankfully already fading cloud of pain. "Gryffindor's first-string keeper, and second year." The crowd would cheer her on as well as the young man that followed her regardless of any crying, screaming or flight in the wrong direction. "@Allister-Jameson MacAllister, our second-string Keeper and third-year."

The cloud of pain almost gone, a burst from the confetti canon that hopefully someone had warned the students about would go off in "@Griseldis Edelhardt"'s face. Multi-colored bits of paper would find their way into her hair that was probably in space buns unless the writer has forgotten what she looks like. "A lovely four year, Prefect and one of Ravenclaw's first-string beaters." Behind her was "@Marshal Mozor" catching a mouthful of those papery bastards. "A second year and their other first-string beater." The crowd would cheer as the unnecessary confetti canons made the quidditch players look like a bowl of rainbow sprinkles. "@Anastasia Beckett" flanked by her fellow first-string chasers would emerge covered in confetti. "A fourth year and first-string chaser." That was not Ana, it was someone else entirely. "No... wait," he would shuffle through his notes and see a fresh cross out on Ana's name. "I mean @Zara Wilkins" he announced. A last-minute change. Whoever she was. "A second string, out of order" he grumbled. "@Haley Rose. A second-year and first-string chaser and @Ivy Bellamy a third year and first string chaser." The crowd would applaud the team but they still had a few more to share. "@Simon Corbin, a young first-year that serves on their first string!"

The Gryffindor Team would make its way around the perimeter of the pitch, either with a lung full of colored smoke or a hair covered in confetti. "Team Gryffindor for you!" Plott smiled and waved his hands expressively.

"Now it is time for Cloud Cob--" he paused and squinted as he read the index card. Can't be right. He tossed the card aside. "Team Slytherin!" He cried and with a flourish of his hands a burst of green-colored smoke would go off in front of the Slytherin locker rooms. It was eco-friendly, made of moss and fungus. Pro, mother earth loves this. Con, it gets on everything and smelled like dead fish. The procession would start, through the thick of the smoke the team captains. "@Dan Palmer, the by who forgot his shoes," was this omission in haste? More than likely the man reasoned. Protective footwear was a must. "Fourth year, team captain and their star seeker" the boy looked small and quick. He was going to need that on the pitch by the loos of the other team. Dan was followed by a girl, covered in a rime of green from the 'smoke bomb'. "@Tyranni Whitethorn," he absolutely butchered the pronunciation of her name unless it was pronounced 'Tyranny". "A third year, and first-strng Chaser."

The rest of the team would start to filter out after the first duo. The smoke still clearing but full of green-goodness, "@Flash Holmwood, second-string Seeker with the alleged golden eye. He is also only a third year!" The green would coat his hair and uniform, he would resemble what came from the swamp. "@Koko Riddle," would follow as the verdant haze almost cleared. "A fourth year and first-string Keeper," he continued and the crowd applauded.

A confetti cannon would go off just as poor "@Avery Chen" made his way out of the locker room. He evaded the swampy haze but would find a mouthful of confetti in its stead. "Our second string Keeper and first-year." He pointed out the boy covered in an excessive amount of confetti. Followed by "@Maggie Hawkins, another first year and first-string Chaser." A rainfall of confetti still raining down on the girl's head. She was followed by "Lisa Alistair" and "Draven Mirador," the cannon would blast a load of colorful paper in toe duo's face. "Also first-years," Slytherin had a lot of them. "And a first string chaser and second string chaser respectively." He concluded as he shuffled through his Index Cards. There was an obvious slant in this pairing he suspected, however the team had been holding its own thus far this season.

The Beaters would make their way onto the pitch. "@Erin Ryan," would find a sprinkling of confetti land on her as she entered the pitch. "A fifth year and first string beater, rumor has it she broke a broom with her bare hands," he lied. He just needed to add a random fact. "And @Cassandra Ironwoods, a third year and first string beater." They had a decent offense it would appear, that was certainly in their favor. Finally, the last to exit was "@Percival Rainwood," he would get slapped with the remnants of the confetti cannon. Apparently there was glitter at the bottom. The prettiest Cloud Cobra now. "A third year and second string beater." The perimeter of the ring was stained with green moss and a colorful assortment of paper. The crowd cheered and the strange stink lingered long after the flashy entrance. Beneath the roar of cheers (and perhaps Durmstrang boos) the already mildly battered or possibly smelly students would accept their accolades and find their places on the pitch. The Headmaster would make his way to the heart of the pitch and release a pair of bludgers that would rocket through the air. They seemed abnormally fast. He would also pull out the snitch, a little buzzing, golden thing and he would let the snitch take flight.

"On your mark.

Get set.

GAME ON!"

Final game of the year, she was not entirely sure how she felt about it. The school year had moved by so quickly she did not have much of an opportunity to enjoy it. She stood in queue and waited for her turn, when the doors first opened it smelled like some sort of swamp out there and it caused her to recoil and place a gloved hand over her own mouth and nose. "The hell is that," she complained as she watched those in front of her fly out. She would hear a FOOOF and a fresh cloud of bullshit, this time an array of colors assail the person before her. A meat-shield if nothing else, she would exit after them. A few rogue pieces of colored paper would land on her shoulders, get tangled in her hair. She would swat at the pieces and shake like a wet dog getting out of a mudpuddle.

There was a cheering crowd and an utter mess on the ground. When did Quidditch become a circus performance? She would follow the Captain's lead and complete her lap before finding her position on the pitch.

The same feeling of nerves bundled inside her stomach wasn't there this time. Koko felt strangely calm as she approached the Quidditch pitch, her broom by her side and her eyes squinted in the oppressive - and rare - sunlight. She didn't think she would mind it, but she wished she had a hat. Such a thing would have been nice.

She saw Erin's new broom and smiled to herself. Although she was tempted to comment on it, she kept her lips sealed when she felt her lungs compress with the nerves she'd missed.

The commentator was different from usual in a way that reminded Koko of what she might see in a play. She decided she liked him until the team began to exit into... Dead fish?

The stench was almost as oppressive as the sunlight, and like all evil things, the humidity only seemed to amplify it. Koko fought to not choke on her own breath as she wrinkled her nose and wheezed out a belaboured, 'What died here!?'

Koko waited for other people to lift off of the ground before doing the same and getting ready for the game to begin. Her clammy palms stuck to the inside of her gloves, and, likely in vain, she wished that the stickiness would transfer to the outside to help her with the Quaffle. That wouldn't happen, she knew, but she could hope.

She surveyed the Gryffindors, who seemed threatening enough. After all, they were opponents, and since they had fewer points than the Slytherins, they would probably be more likely to fight stronger. That was okay, though. Slytherin had Erin and Dan, and Flash, too, if things went badly. Their players were their advantage.

They would win.

So here it was. Last match of the year.
Dan had determined that nothing was going to kill his mood for this. Not his depression, not the weather, not the odds of taking the cup, nothing. His therapist had mentioned that at least trying to keep a positive outlook and focus on good things was key to improving his mental state.
Dan was rather sure that muggles had developed medicine that helped depression for longer than an uplifting spell or potion, but he didn't feel like bringing it up to him.

He gripped his broom and smirked. Gryffindor was in for a surprise.

Then they took off, and Plott somehow managed to get their team name wrong. How in the world someone managed to fuck up something so simple as reading a team name well and truly eluded Dan.
If this was the guy they picked to be their Headmaster, if this was the standard by which they selected who would lead the school... Dan truly felt bad for the students at Ilvermorny.

'The boy who forgot his shoes'? Really. THAT was what this asshole went with? Dan did not 'forget' his shoes. He didn't use them. What kind of hack was this guy, and why are they allowing someone this useless to oversee a match? Or better yet, to run an entire magic school?

To his credit, he DID call Dan the star seeker. He wasnt sure why he inflected 'seeker', but he was called the star seeker, so cool.
And, to his credit, he DID have a flair about him, so alright. And he introduced his team well enough, okay fine.
Wait... When did Erin break a broom with her bare hands?

And then, when he flew out he was hit in the face with confetti, green smoke, and... What in god's name was that smell doing here?
Dan recognized the smell of dead fish immediately from living in Dingle his whole life. Why. The hell. Was dead fish the smell out here? Whatever. Dan was used to this smell; he lived in a port town his whole life.

Dan pulled the confetti out of his hair and flew a lap around with his team. He decided neither Plott nor the dead fish smell, which Dan already had narrowed down to two parties responsible, were going to ruin his mood. He gave Plott a generous 6/10 for his announcements, despite his flub of the team name, and dubbing him having 'forgotten' his shoes.

But, one of these would not be taken quietly.

"Our name's the Cloud Cobras, get it right, old man!" He was fairly certain that Americans could speak and read English... Meh.

Dan began directing his team, as one does as captain. This game was theirs. Dan fully believed in their team. Gryffindor would fall.

In the role of Seeker, if an opponent attempts to Bludger or Blatch you, there is a 20% chance that you veer out of the way the last second and another enemy player at RANDOM is targeted instead.

Note: The new target still gets their normal dodge attempt. This is not considered to be an auto-dodge, in fact this roll is done before any accuracy rolls are done.

In the role of Seeker you when you have found the snitch, if someone attempts to use Alley Oop to help you find the snitch, you get three rolls instead of 2. However, with this broom you do not gain the +1 chance to grab the snitch for rounds that the Alley Oop is used. To clarify, each round someone attempts to grab a snitch they get a +1 to the attempt and this stacks. There is no bonus (or stack from this round's attempt to grab) to grabbing the snitch.

XXXConfetti rained down on Maggie's head as she entered the pitch, surveying the surrounding area. It was sunny, an adequate day for some ball. The broom was sturdy beneath her, and she listened to mister Lazarus Plott announce their game with bated breath.

First off, their team name was mispronounced within seconds. Which didn't make much sense at all to Maggie, seeing as the team name was literally the Cloud Cobras. The simplest name to pronounce ever unless Americans were just particularly daft and idiotic. If this man was leading Ilvermorny, Maggie felt awful sorry for the students there. At least their own headmaster, Solomon Lear, wasn't completely and entirely incompetent.

As Dan Palmer began speaking, Maggie was alert and at attention. Taking in the game plan carefully, she gripped the front of the broom, leather gloves sliding against the wood of her Silver Arrow.

Logically speaking, Draven knew the chances of him playing during this game was were low. That didn't stop his stomach from shrinking down to the size of a walnut and doing flips. His fingers were wrapped tightly around the handle of his broom as he made his way to where all the other second strings had gathered. Whitehorn. Holmwood. Chen. Rainwood. An impressive lineup. He hadn't gotten a chance to speak with most of them before, too busy trying not to embarrass himself during practice.

Giving Chen a tight smile, he moved to the side to allow the other players to stream in. He wasn't nervous. No sir. He hadn't stayed up the entire week before running practice drills and making up what he lacked in sleep with coffee either.

Draven watched as the Gryffindor team took their positions, picking out green confetti out of his hair all the while. He'd left his wand in the locker room, and he was missing it like a phantom limb. There was no point in having it out on the field, yet he found himself reaching for it anyway.

"All right, everyone," Evelynn opened, taking position before the team.

It still felt entirely out of place, this obligation and expectation for her to be the one to lead the team and take the reins. For too long had she lingered—quite comfortably, mind—within the imposing and unrelenting shadow of their former captain, D'Spacito. For the eyes to default in her direction seeking guidance, she wasn't sure if she would ever quite shake the oddity. But she would have to try.

"We have sustained some significant challenges this year, foremost among them: the turnover of our roster. We have lost some terribly skilled and tenured players from our ranks, but that is not to say that we are anything less than we were. For those of you who have had to endure the game watching from the benches, this is the opportunity for which you have been training. This is the moment to step in and demonstrate to your compatriots that they needn't feel guilt for having stepped away. Our pride is our strength. Our determination our heraldry. There is still a chance to obtain the cup, but only if we fly strong, as one, as we have practiced.

"It will not be an easy match. It never is against Slytherin. We can expect a relentless assault from their beaters, and no doubt they will have more than a few tricks up their sleeves, so stay vigilant. In particular, be mindful of Ryan. She has gotten her hands on a new broom, it seems, and it will no doubt change the speed and acuity of her flight and manoeuvres. Be mindful of that and rely not on habitual timing. Keep in mind your individual goals and listen for the cues of tactical changes."

She would pause then, sweeping her gaze across all of them. Her hand gripped tightly at her own Silver Arrow, her posture erect and almost rigid with the compensation of trying to force away the nerves that threatened to send tremors through her core. A deep breath and a grim smile would pull at the corner of her mouth. She could have continued her speech at length, but already the announcements from beyond sounded the impending start of the match. Plott's voice was terribly recognizable over the din of the crowd. Evelynn would have to wrap it up sooner than she might otherwise have liked.

"Regardless of the outcome of the cup, however, I know we can at least snatch second. Let us maintain our streak and keep these serpents ground-bound. End this season on a high note."

With that, she swept her stance about on the ball of her foot, uniform flapping out behind her with the determination of her step. With a gentle pat of her hand on Zhang's shoulder, a quick steadying breath was all she could afford to settle herself before leading her team out into the blinding light of the afternoon sun. A breath she quickly regretted. Her emergence from the Gryffindor locker rooms had been accompanied by the explosion of red crackers. She'd thought them nothing more than coloured smoke, something that would dissipate quickly and offer nothing more than a flashy entrance.

How wrong she was.

As she kicked off from the ground, tears stung her eyes, a fit of coughs already taking grip as she darted haphazardly from the cloud of choking, firey death. While not quite as bad as the mustard gas of the dungeons, it wasn't all that far off. Red hot chili peppers came to mind as Evelynn's nose, mouth and lungs filled with something spicey. She had hoped to present herself to the crowd as an image of dignified composure. Instead, she flew her lap practically doubled-over, one mouth clenched first at her throat, then over her mouth as the violent coughing led her into a brief fit of dry heaves as she settled into position.

"Marshal..?" A glance was spared to the new first-string beater who would no doubt take his preparatory place nearby. She couldn't quite decide if she was more or less nervous with him up in the air alongside her. On the one hand, it was always comforting to play alongside those trusted few. On the other.. she would now be worrying about his well-being. He had been a great deal safer when forced to sit the bench. "...I am relying on you today." She would return her gaze forward again, fixing it on Plott. "Keep me on my broom, all right?"

Flushed like a tomato, dotted with perspiration, and tremulous, she was not off to a good start. With luck, however, this would be but an unkind blotch soon wiped clean by a swift recovery and superb aerial dominance. She just had to forget the momentary embarrassment and get her head in the game.

Elena Jangleton had come to two determinations about this Quidditch match within ten minutes of witnessing what took place. Firstly, Plott should never be allowed the commentary box again and secondly, a confetti cannon or smoke cannon, it was honestly hard to tell at this point was a very poor idea although she would not at all be surprised if it had been a Slytherin ruse to sabotage them. Then again, they hadn't fared any better at the hands of the contrapation so maybe it was just an innocent prank but it had given them a very rude awakening to say the least.

She squinted making out the scarlet and gold specks from the bench mixed with green and silver glacning down at her own broom that rested at her own feet. She knew Evelynn was a capable flyer, more than qualified but there was always that small percentage that something would happen, a Bludger gone awry or something that would require her to fill the gap.

That seemed ever so likely with Slytherin playing but for now, they'd have to wait and see which way the tide fell.

This is it. Game three of Quidditch match for the year 2022. They had lost against Ravenclaw. They had won against Hufflepuff. You win some then you lose some. When Cash thought about it, the universe worked in a funny way. And now game three is the last one to prove that Cloud Cobras got what it takes to take home and claim the Quidditch Cup this year.

Perhaps if we won this game, we could go up against whatever school the Quidditch Champion will be up against in the coming summer game, Cash thought to themselves as they line up inside Slytherin's locker room with their other teammate. Cash tried to calm their nerves. They could hear their hearts racing miles a minute.

No matter how many games they had played during their years studying at Hogwarts, Cash always had stage fright or in this case, a pitch fright before they entered the field. Their father was a pro Quidditch player before he switched to a more stable job. Now they understand what their father felt before every game.

The green eyes could hear Headmaster Plott introduce the other team. While waiting for their turn, Cash took a much-needed breath to calm their nerves. They did not need and want themselves to faint before they entered the pitch. Once the curtain of the Slytherin team opened, a wafted of dead fish assaulted their smelling sense.

"Fucking hell!,"Cash cussed out in Spanish while holding their nose. Up to this point, the green eyes are supposed to be getting used to the foul smell since they often time hang out down in the Chamber. The Chamber smell more or less the same as what they smell right now. Their eyes watered as they tried not to vomit at the odor.

Then one by one Headmaster Plott called out their teammates. First, it was Dan, Tyranni, some names later, Erin, and finally, their name being called. Cash grabbed their bat with their left hand while their right hand grip their brand new broom which is Firebolt. They always wanted the expensive broom.

But they did not have the heart to ask their mother about it until the Slytherin Broom fund pitched in and they got the exquisite broom. With that, Cash kicked the ground and off they go. Once the last person of their teammate graces the pitch, Cash alongside Dan and the others take a lap around the pitch.

Once they have done that, the third year took their spot in the sky. The Cuban descendant then hit the shaft of their brand-new broom with their bat thrice. "We got this, Cloud Cobras!,"They uttered to amp up their teammates' spirit. "Strike first. Strike hard. No mercy!"The young socialite shouted. Their green eyes scanned the perimeter and then Cash put their game face on. Let the game begin!

Stood just to the side of Evelynn, Pax listened intently (and with admiration) to her speech. They gave her a comforting smile as she spoke to the team, trying to motivate her. They had full faith that she'd be brilliant as captain, and hopefully that they could support her as well. Hearing the loud voice of Ilvermorny's headmaster, Plott, they quickly finished up the speech and then prepared for their entrance onto the pitch. Feeling a gentle pat on the shoulder, Pax looked up at Evelynn and took a deep breath out. They were both feeling the new- captain nerves, but they had to have confidence. "We've got this," they tried to encourage. "Go lions!"

Just behind Evelynn, Pax walked out with their head held high, striaght into a cloud of red spices. Unmajestically, they coughed into their arm as their name was announced. Their first match as co- captain, and they'd managed to give off an amazing first impression. With a sting in their eyes and in the back of their throat, they completed the lap before settling into position.

"Good luck guys!" Pax let the first-strings know. "I have full faith in you all!" Leaning ever so slightly towards Evelynn, they added, "Take a breath, ok? You're just a bit red in the face."

Walking over to the bench where the other second-strings would be sat, they looked out into the audience and spotted a familiar face, Kim, in the audience, who they grinned at, before they sat next to the second-string seeker, Elena Jangleton. "You've done this several times, haven't you? Is it stressful? I do kinda hope to play, but it's better if I don't have to, right?"
