THIS IS A PRIVATE THREAD FOR:
@Winnie Harper, @Valerie Laurier, @Eliphas Dune, @Levi Drakos, @Lindsey Springhall, @Eun-ji Lee Hunt, @Mathias Pride and Professor @Halford Booth
DATE: November 23rd, 2021 | TIME: 5:00 pm / 17:00
The icy tendrils of a late season day would grasp at any who traversed the grounds, as the departing sun left its sky-bound throne vacant in preparation for the moon's ascendance. Stars already dotted the darkened sky, acting as a forward army in securing the heavens for their new king - he who was clad in a silver sheen.

While celestial lights ruled the world overhead, flickering firelight painted the ground underfoot. Large torches encircled the area, feet steepled firmly in the grass below, offering a warm glow to the castle denizens who would venture into the early night to join this group.
Upon entering the illuminated space, students could spot their names, clearly written out upon a portable chalkboard at the rear end of the area, furthest from the castle. Following their names was the talent - or talents - each of them had professed to own.
Written out above the names was also a frilly welcoming message, its cheery nature acting in direct contrast to the dour expression of the man beside it.

Coated in wavering torchlight, Professor Booth's features seemed to waver and shift, as shadows cavorted within their contours and accentuated the grim set of his face. Arms and legs crossed to signify a distinct lack of enthusiasm, the professor brooded in a particularly stiff-looking chair.
The more faint-hearted among the group might experience second thoughts about being near such a tangible aura of malcontent. But were they to see past the man's social graces, they would find a plethora of opportunities for enjoyment - that which would require their own making.

The large, open space in the center of the area was divided into two sections - one devoid of any clutter, so as to provide ample room for dancing and other performances, while the other offered a standing quiver of arrows on one side, complete with a bow, and a selection of wooden targets on the other. The targets were scattered at varying distances from the designated shooting line; some were stationary, while others moved slowly from side to side, evidently suspended by magic.
Of course, while the two sections were divided by a long row of hay bales, dancing was not to take place while anyone was shooting arrows. This rule was scribbled lazily in one corner of the chalkboard, obviously written by someone who didn't wish to be held responsible for any unfortunate mishaps.

To one side of the clearing - opposite the archery targets - stood a round table, surrounded by seven chairs, all similar in make to Professor Booth's own. The center of the table held a neat stack of papers underneath an ornate paper weight, several quills and ink bottles, along with a variety of colored markers.

The only other notable item in the area was a wooden stool near the dancing space. Placed conspicuously atop it was a rather old wizard radio, which would only project magical stations. The radio currently remained silent.
Taped to the stool, directly in front of the radio, was a note that simply read, "Break this and die."

As students approached, they would be met with a bored gesture of Professor Booth's head toward the chalkboard, indicating that they should begin executing the talents written there.

As the winter winds approached the grand and stoic halls of Hogwarts Castle, more and more Eliphas Dune had found an excuse to remain bundled up in his favourite jumpers. Woolen and neutral in shade, they staved off the worst of the chill. With that being said, standing outside among it all, lost within in the highlands of Scotland, the ice was indeed palpable. With mountains all around it was impossible to shake.

He had made his way alongside the other students of his group, hands stuffed within his pockets. Even when he removed them, upon reaching the space which had been designated for them, he revealed his gloved hands. His nose was bright red, cheeks flushed pink, and he sniffled here and there despite his best efforts not to. The torches at least put off some heat, enough that he stopped close to one and let it warm him some.

The last thing he needed was to catch a real chill.

As excitable as the note had been, and as flourished as the chalkboard writing was, their professor seemed to be quite the contrary. It was a man Eliphas had never seen outside of the Great Hall, which led him to believe that he must have tended to classes beyond the scope of a First Year student. Muggle Studies, perhaps?

He squinted his eyes, trying to get a better read of the man. Truth be told, even without his uncanny ability to read the emotions of others he could sense his begrudgery. Evidently he didn't really wish to be here. Was he cold too? Perhaps he'd benefit from a nice cup of cocoa, and a scarf. Maybe even a wooly jumper of his own! Either way, he decided rather swiftly that he did not believe him to be the Professor of Muggle Studies. He didn't really fit the bill.

After taking in their surroundings, the haybales, the space left for dancing, and of course the table filled with everything a boy could ever need or want to make origami with, he shifted his sights upward to the sky. Though it wasn't very late at all, night had fallen all the same and it was simply gorgeous. There was very little in the way of light pollution, so far away from the beaten path they were, so the stars shone brightly and the moon peaked from behind the towering mountains.

For a moment he was so mesmerized by it that he quite simply forgot why they were even there...

The early signs of winter were prevalent as she made her way across the grass. The buoyant colours of Autumn were slowly starting to fade, though nature's brushstroke was noticeable in the contrasting hues of the surviving foliage. Still, it would not be long before they too would join their siblings on the ground to create a thick carpet for the early layers of snow to rest upon.

The last of the day's sunlight bathed the area in a pink hue as the final streaks of orange and red merged and waltzed before falling away to offer the sky's stage to the twinkling starlight. Guided by the light of the dancing flames, Winnie Harper would arrive at the predetermined location she had received via owl. The late days of November meant she had dressed for warmer weather, wearing a pair of brown leather boots which had been laced with ribbons. A set of embroidered bunny ears stuck out of the top of the boot, helping the style feel more carefree. She was wrapped in a powdered blue wool coat, which sported an intricate pink floral design. Beneath her coat, she wore fleece-lined black leggings, a baggy blue knit sweater, and a plaid blue skirt. She wore her typical leather satchel bag, which had been packed with her needed supplies and well-loved poetry notebook.

Upon entering the errand area, Winnie would attempt to wave cheerfully over at Halford Booth. She had never met the professor before that day because she was not yet a third year. Perhaps if he was nice she would consider taking his course next year, but considering the grumpy look that seemed to be plastered onto his face, she was quickly starting to rethink the idea. Regardless, she would greet that man. "Hi Mr. Booth, thank you for putting together this errand!" She half-sang to him, attempting to offer the man a smile. "I look forward to seeing who is in my group." Perhaps a few fresh-faced first years looking for an older student to act as their mentor. "I am Winnie, by the way, Winnie Harper." She aimed the next statement towards Eliphas, "Second year, Ravenclaw. You're an eagle too, right?"

A gust of cold wind blew threw the air as Val stepped onto the grounds. It was already dark, with stars dotting the sky, the grounds lit up by nothing but a couple of torches. It was only five, but with Autumn nearly coming to a close and the chilly grasp of Winter growing closer and closer, Val found night falling much sooner than she was used to.

No, indeed, Val was not a Winter person. Not even a cold person, in fact. She preferred the exciting warmth of summer. But today, she had one thing to keep her warm. With backpack slung around her right shoulder, she carried what appeared to be a black board held tightly under her armpit.

Under closer inspection, one could tell that this black board wasn't just a strip of wood. In fact, it was a skateboard. She wasn't quite sure why she brought it from home, perhaps she wanted to carry a piece of home to Hogwarts with her, or maybe it was the fact that she just didn't want her mum to find it stuffed under her bed. After all, since she had received it from her friends a muggle school, she had kept it a closely guarded secret from anybody in her family in fear of confiscation.

She hadn't touched it since she had arrived at Hogwarts, but today, it finally had a purpose. When she had heard of this "talent activity," she figured she'd just do what she always did at her school's talent shows. Piano. Violin. Or any other fancy instrument her mum had forced her to learn. But then it hit her. She was at Hogwarts. Her mum wasn't here. She really could do anything she wanted. She remembered hearing something like how talents needed to be not only something you were good at, but also something you enjoyed. Sure, she was pretty good at practically all the instruments she played, but she didn't exactly enjoy playing them. In fact, every lesson seemed more like a chore.

So, she decided to try something different. Something she enjoyed. Something a little more... Val. As she arrived at the area, she wasn't surprised to see a few students from her group already there. Truth be told, Val was not an early person. Not even a late person, more like completely miss the whole event since she forgot kind of person, but luckily she was able to arrive here at least a bit on time.

The area had been neatly divided by a row of hay bales, one side completely empty, the other filled with bows, arrows and neat rows of targets. Val did not want to get in the middle of that. She slipped into the open area, her gaze shifting to a chalkboard and the unenthusiastic man sitting next to it. She assumed the man was Professor Booth, the man the note had informed her she had been paired up with. She had seen him in the halls, but other than that had never met him before, leading her to assume he was a teacher in some older year class.

She smiled awkwardly at the man, giving him a small wave before walking over to a group of students. One definitely seemed older, second or third year perhaps, while the boy seemed to be about Val's age. She approached them, offering a smile. "Hey, I'm Valerie, Valerie Laurier," she said as she extended her freehand.

Eun-ji promised herself not to make any new friends this year and truly...she TRIED but when there was a chance to share her talent with other people? How could she refuse? In all honesty, the witch wasn't sure for how much longer she would excel at ballet as much as she did now and so any opportunity to include others in it was welcome. It was one evening of socializing…she could handle that much.

And so when the note came, she was already mentally prepared for the battle. Perhaps I'll get to learn something interesting as well. That would be nice. Eun-ji loved to learn new things. She was a true Ravenclaw in that regard. Problem solving was another thing she was supposed to be good at and for most part, she was. Unfortunately at this very moment, she was faced with an impossible task. Today she desperately wanted wear something comfortable but once again, going through her grandmother’s selection of clothes did her no favours. It was all fancy stuff. Well-made and high quality fabric but impractical to say the least. I guess I’ll just wear my practice clothes. Those were pretty expensive as well but at least they allowed her to move freely. She put on a pair of warm tights, shin length tulle dress and light sweater tied with a satin bow (see header for reference). The practice clothes were then covered by a long red coat and strangely comfortable velvet shoes of the same color “You wanna come with me?” The girl asked her cat. Mordred meowed and immediately jumped off the bed. “Alright but you’ll stay out of the way and behave, okay?” She ordered as if he could understand her. Well sometimes, it seemed like he could. He was a very smart cat.

Finally, armed with bag hiding a blanket, some spare ballet shoes and her wand she left the dorms. Eun-ji had also taken her pointe shoes in case someone wanted to see her in those or possibly try them on although she would not allow anybody to dance in them unless they actually did ballet. They would probably have their own in that case, her brain reminded her. But well...one could never be sure.

The walk to the grounds felt awfully short today. Probably because she was nervous. What if nobody cared for her talent? After all, ballet was not uncommon skill among Hogwarts students so it might not be as interesting to the other members of the group. I suppose I will have to wait and see… “Good evening Professor Booth,” the Ravenclaw greeted her teacher politely once she reached her destination. She was taking his class and so far with outstanding results but the man scared her a little. It was clear to her that he wasn’t necessarily fond of his students and so she paid attention and did her work diligently but otherwise stayed out of his way. She respected his knowledge of course but wouldn’t approach him outside of class. Even now, he looked annoyed just to be here. Still, he did a great job with the place…if it was his effort that made all this happen of course. Archery? Well consider me intrigued. Did she want to marry Legolas when she was little? You bet she did. This should be fun.

Eun-ji arrived right on time so some of the students were already there. Two of them she recognized immediately. Winnie attended Dee's birthday party last year and she saw her on several other occasions. They didn’t really talk but she was familiar with the girl from the dorms. Eliphas was new to her since he was a freshman but at least she’d seen him around their common room and during the sorting ceremony. The second girl on the other hand, was a complete stranger to her. She didn’t spot her around the Ravenclaw tower so she most likely wasn’t in her house and she was also older then them so they wouldn’t have met in class. No matter, they would introduce themselves soon. “Hello everyone,” she greeted the trio politely. “My name is Eun-ji. Lee Eun-ji.” The witch introduced herself with smile. It was not an overly friendly smile. Just enough to make her look approachable. “And this is Mordred. He will probably ignore you but if he does come to you like cats, feel free to pet him.”

Mathias Pride would amble to the predetermined destination. Luck would have it that he would recognize some of the talent. A one Winnie Harper for instance. A lovely midget of a girl that did not have a recorded ounce of goblin in her, yet struggled to exceed their ilk in height. Admittedly he found her tiny stature endearing somehow, she reminded him of a doll. Not the evil, murderous kind (yet) but rather something he would haphazardly play with and then dispose of when he had his fill or it outlived its usefulness. Little did he know Winnie might resemble the later rather than the former.

The fact that his 'rival' if one could call him that, Levi Drakos would partake in the activity and be a part of the same group was either providence or the work of a very cruel god. There was little preparation needed for Mathias' talent, he was basically a vessel for talent and therefore required no accessories beyond a crowd's adoration. He could not say the same for his peers, he read off Levi's talent written in chalk. Surely he could play a mean Camptown Races on his guitar.

As he made his way to the small group of students that have already arrived he would make his way over to Winnie. Mathias was dressed in a pair of black navy pleated slacks with a matching jacket. Slate gray dress shirt beneath and a pair of mirror-shined black leather shoes. He was not wearing his glasses, they were like most things, a lie. He did not need the glasses to see better, he nee3ded to wear the glasses to be seen a certain way. His red hair, slightly long as he was overdue for a cut was brushed back from his face, adding height to his already lanky proportions.

"Hey hun," he would announce in greeting as he gave the girl a wink. He would snap his wrist, his finger pointing forward towards the apparent stage. There was no obvious place of elevation (unless there was and I missed it in narration), but there was a focal point (assumedly) and he would take his rightful place in the center of it all. While they were on their meet and greet he was going to get this show, his show on the road. "I guess I will be going first, I always did need a head start," he quipped as he made his way to the area adjacent to his sign and simply started to do what he did best: talk.

"I suppose I should introduce myself, Mathias Pride. Cousin to, well... you know who. Hardly any resemblance less the cheekbones. In any case," he kicked the ground with his heel. "He-who-shall-not-be-named aside, I suppose my talent is that I am entertaining." His eyes would pass over the students gathered, their names and alleged talents taken from the chalk boards. With talents such as archery and drawing of some sort he supposed. He did not know most of them, with the exception of Winnie and Levi of course, Levi his perennial victim.

"While rude to talk about chaps when they are not here, Levi is about as attentive as an absentee father who left for cigarettes and never came back. Sort of the daddy-issue girl's dreamboat, perhaps I should," he continued. His head nodding towards the sign with Levi's name scrawled out in chalk and his alleged talent. "Drakos, my old boyfriend,"[/b][/color] he lied about this fact so many times he was going to start thinking it was true eventually. "Is running late again, I'd say he is off like a heard of turtles but in truth he is likely spackling on some face primer and plucking some embarrassing hairs because he needs to make a good impression." The boy that often acted like a pureblood, but he had intense doubts since purebloods ran in a rather tight circle.

"But I am here to tell the girls gathered that Levi is single and ready to mingle," Mathias had found 'love' allegedly in Winnie. At the very least an outlet for lust. His own personal house elf without the judgement. "And he could really use a girl that is outside his narrow bloodline, he introduced me to his sister and his girlfriend at one family gathering -- they were the same person." he waved his hand in the air as if he was attempting to erase that unfortunate mental image. "But surely a relationship with Drakos is an investment which pays dividends if you pay interest. As for who would be enjoying this newfound wealth, well... probably Levi."

Yes, his set was bashing on Levi until Levi shared the metaphorical stage with him. His talent was truth be told, pissing off Drakos.

[Will post in a few more days if Levi shows or not.]

Finally returning to Hogwarts felt amazingly satisfying, and Lindsey couldn’t help but deciding that her mother was simply the best person in the world, who insisted on her return. If there was any thing that she got to complain, it was that the arrival time picked was not that charming - accidentally stumbling upon the Hogwarts castle on the ball night which she learnt later on caused much confusion. But other than that, it was a right choice.

And so the following November days slipped away, with her mostly focusing on keeping with her studies. Several visits to the professors had been made, and it could be said that Lindsey had literally poked her nose in the books all day long. When November was nearly to an end and her grades had jumped back to their usual scores finally, she felt the need of some rest. As a result, when a rather intriguing errand - namingly, an interesting one for celebrating talents - was hosted, she signed up for it. Listing the reasons of signing up in her notebook (Lindsey liked having reasonable reasons for everything) - it turned out like this: one, a way to relax; two, a chance to connect with people; and third, an opportunity to show off.

She would say that the second and third reason came as the most important ones. It had been long since she re-connected with her friends, and whenever she thought of this, a bitter smile would come up to her lips. Her dear friends’ acceptance and hospitality towards her were never worried, but the feeling of being left out was…weird. She desperately wanted to see them, especially after an eventful summer, but it turned out to Lindsey that she could never, never be the merry little girl waiting for her friends impatiently in the halls again, at least during the past month. She had made up her mind to dedicate her month in keeping up with her lessons, and playing must be put off. Life taught her to tilt her head up high. She was proud. She was tenacious. And no one - nothing - could stop her.

The next page of her notebook was scribbled with words, intending for the talents she could show off. Showing off was noted as another important reason, and Lindsey, being a strategic person, put much effort into brainstorming her abilities. Piano? That’s no way special. Singing? Even less charming than playing musical instruments. Quidditch was not a practical option, and nor did gardening - Merlin, she wasn’t able to bring her plants along and cast Tarantallegra on them - and the words were crossed out on the parchment, leaving a single capitalized one in the middle. It was delightfully decided. Archery would be the most special talent of all. And it could also be a small secret remembrance of her mother’s adoptive family who taught her this, which certainly satisfied the young badger.

Late November in the Scottish highlands was already chilly to a point that one might have mistaken it as winter. After some time of searching in her outfits, Lindsey wrapped herself in a dark green down jacket and a light colored sweater. Just in a pair of jeans for the ease of moving around, she arrived at the Hogwarts grounds light-footedly. Her partners for this assignment were all strangers to her. But - never mind. Lindsey never doubted in her own ability in socializing. The area was shiny under the magical lights, and a man was there, obviously acting as the guardian angel of tonight. She recognized him under the name of the Divination Professor Halford Booth, whose elective class was respectfully taken by the Hufflepuff. Giving him a little wave with a charming smile on her lips, she greeted him merrily. “Evening, professor! Thanks for being the guar-” ugh, guardian angel wouldn’t sound very appealing to a man of Professor Booth’s age. “-chaperone tonight.” she carefully selected the word, hoping that it would have a better sound.

Some had already arrived, busy exchanging words with each other. There were three girls - intriguingly, a redhead, a blonde, and a dark-haired girl who was possibly in her year - and with her own brunette, they formed an amazing group of four, having different hair colours. And there was a cat, which made her regretting not taking her own bengal Napoleon along. Two boys were around as well, one busy introducing some Levi guy - since she didn’t catch the first half of the speech given by auburn haired boy, she hardly understood what he was trying to relate.

Giving them all a friendly nod, she would smile warmly to the group once the boy’s speech ended. “Greetings! I’m really sorry for being a bit late.” she would say, rather apologetically. Really, she thought she would be on time - but it turned out that she wasn’t. Or maybe others were just a bit earlier than the appointed time, but without a watch, she couldn’t determine. “The name’s Lindsey, Lindsey Springhall. It’s a pleasure to meet you all.”

Glancing around, her large chocolate brown eyes spotted the bow and arrows, obviously intended for her preparations. Delighted to find there moving targets along with the standstill ones, her eyes were lit up. It had been a while since she put her hands on a bow again, and hopefully, she could still do it well. It was exciting, really, to have a chance to practice archery on the Hogwarts grounds. This would almost definitely be a charming night to spend, because why wouldn’t?

Are everybody here now? Eun-ji questioned as another participant joined the group, taking the stage immediately. No, two are still missing. She assessed the situation after checking the board. She recognised the boy on stage as Winnie’s date for the ball but other than that, the witch knew very little about him. Entertainer… That did sound interesting. His entrance was a bit brash but that probably just meant he was a confident individual, which made sense given the talent. Focusing on the performer, Eun-ji made sure not to disturb the boy. Disturbing his effort would be rude in her opinion. He wanted to show others what he was good at so they shoul pay attention.

Eun-ji was not entertained. Perhaps she just didn’t understand but she cared very little about the topic at hand. She didn’t really know Levi and failed to see why she should be entertained by the slander. It was obvious that there was some ongoing feud between the two boys but it was of no interest to her. Neither were Mathias’ jabs at his relationship or blood status. The later being quite sensitive topic for her recently. She wasn’t really annoyed though. The witch was okay with offensive jokes if they were funny. She disliked the notion that jokes should never offend anybody and often wondered what would happen to comedy if people decided to filter all of the things they found offensive. No, this was not about that. She just didn’t find the topic entertaining because it was in no way relatable for her. Even if his goal wasn't to make them laugh, she still found no enjoyment in it. Eun-ji supposed it could have been her fault but she couldn’t say for sure.

Subtly eyeing the others to check their reactions, she noticed another girl approaching the group. She did recognise that one. They never talked to each other but she had seen her around in classes and if she remembered correctly, she was taking Divination this year as well. “Hello, Lindsey,” The Ravenclaw greeted the girl after she introduced herself. “Don’t worry, we only just started.” Turning back to the stage, she tried to connect with the boy but once again failed miserably. It was simply not her cup of tea and judging from Mordred’s yawn, he wasn’t all that interested either. Then again, he was a cat. Smart one but still. It might get better. Eun-ji decided to give Mathias a chance and give her final verdict at the end of the performance.

“I'm looking forward to your showcase.” She whispered to the brunette when she noticed her interest in the bow and arrows. Eun-ji was still watching the stage as she did so but at this point, it was mostly for the sake of showing respect to the fellow performer rather then being interested in whatever he was saying.

He was abruptly pulled from his astral thoughts by the arrival of another; her initial statements did not draw his focus away, but when she addressed him specifically he could hardly ignore her nor did he wish to. He glanced her way with a small smile, and nodded when she asked if he was a fellow Ravenclaw.

"Nice to meet you, Winnie," he said, recognizing her in passing from their Common Room though never having had an excuse to speak with her directly. "I'm Eliphas. Eliphas Dune." As was only proper, taught to him by example of his Father, Eliphas then proceeded to extend his hand out to offer a handshake. He couldn't quite recall what the proper Dune protocol was expected to be when it came to girls, he'd only ever seen his father shaking the hands of his business companions and they'd mostly been men. He had seen him do the whole double cheek kiss thing but there was no way Eliphas would be copying that! Manners or not.

A handshake would certainly do the trick.

"What's your talent?" he asked quietly to the girl, as others began to approach their area. There was another girl, about his age, that he only slightly recognized. Maybe they shared a class together, but he couldn't put a name to her face or anything like that. He mostly kept to himself during class, unless the likes of @Orla Finch was around, or someone else he'd interacted with a fair bit. She was also quick to introduce herself to the others as Valerie though so at least he now had a name.

Then another Eagle arrived, with a cat in tow, and then another... This one, an older boy who immediately took to the 'stage' and began his act. Whatever it was, Eliphas must have been much too young to really understand it at all. Was it... Comedy? It just seemed like he was talking, and not about nice things either. He was saying rather unkind things about a fellow student! Eliphas felt like he wanted to crawl into some dark corner until it was over, it was uncomfortable to say the least.

The late arrival of another student made him more relieved than he had expected, and though he gave the man on stage most of his attention to be polite and in keeping with the whole affair, he did use the arrival of Lindsey to help cushion the uncomfortable blow.

"Hello," he said, with a smile, and glancing around it seemed as though they had almost everyone present. They seemed to be missing one person, and given Mathias' performance he could hazard a guess as to who that was. "What's your talent?" he inquired of the others around him, feeling a little out of place as the only younger boy among them. Drats, he didn't want to come across as the annoying younger brother type, and as he glanced over to the table which held the bits and pieces he needed he began to doubt his talent entirely.

It was juvenile when paired with the likes of the archery range on the other side...

To soothe his warring mind, Eliphas knelt down slightly to fuss the cat, Mordred, behind the ears gently... Provided the kitty allowed him to. They were their own beings, weren't they? Willful and particular. Not quite so immediately giving as, say, a dog. Not that Eliphas knew first hand, he'd never had a pet.

He decided rather quickly that he'd try to get his showcase out of the way as fast as he could. The longer he waited the more anxious he was becoming, because compared to the others what he had to offer was very little... Even so he made his way toward the table containing papers and pens and the like, and picked up one piece of construction paper to do a quick practice of his creation, a refresh if you will. Plus, then it would be easier to begin. He'd already be right there, eager to start.

Eager, he decided, was most definitely the wrong word.

As more students filtered in, Winnie saw a few people she did not recognize, with Valerie being one of them. She must have been in a different house, perhaps even a first year. She was not certain if the hand the girl extended to them was meant for her, or the younger eagle standing next to her. Either way, she would extend a hand to accept the handshake before dropping it and then shaking Eliphas' hand as well. Manners were important, after all. "Hi Valerie, I'm Winnie! I'll be reading poetry today." The last bit was mentioned to the pair of them, as the boy had also asked what her talent would be. "What are your talents?" Excited energy was starting to burst forth, she wanted one of her peers to start, to break the ice.

Soon, she saw a face that she did recognize. She had seen the girl at Dee's birthday party, the fall ball, and around the common room. She raised a hand to greet Eun-ji, a small smile forming on her lips. "Hey, Eun-ji! I like your outfit." It looks so cozy and warm. Suddenly she realized this would be a wonderful opportunity to get to know her upperclassman better. She was about to ask the older Ravenclaw about her talent, when she suddenly became... Distracted.

By Mattie. She had not yet noticed the names that were written on the board but was delighted to hear her boyfriend's familiar voice. Seeing his sweet, glasses-clad face in the crowd when she read her poetry would certainly help her feel less nervous. "Hi Mat--..." ... Wait a minute... Where were his glasses? Why was he dressed so... Sharply? And why was his hair slicked back like that? She felt her face start to heat up, a blush blossoming on her cheeks as she practically gawked at the boy. "M...Matt... " She stuttered as she attempted to ask where his glasses were and failed. What had happened to her adorable nerdy boyfriend? When had Matt gotten so... hot?! Was he somehow taller? Was this somehow a 90s romcom where the heroine went through a drastic makeover that somehow made her look better but revealed she was pretty all along? She had always been attracted to Matt, but... HOW WAS SHE SUPPOSED TO TALK TO A BOY THIS ATTRACTIVE? Oh Merlin, did her hair look okay? She started stroking her fingers through it.

Scooting up to Lindsay, likely a little too closely for the poor girl's comfort, she would point a finger towards the gorgeous boy on the stage. "That's my BOYFRIEND." She stated as if saying it out loud would somehow make her believe the boy standing on the stage really was Matt and not some sort of handsome evil twin. Oh, Merlin, she was missing his performance... What was he even talking about again...? "WOO!" Winnie suddenly shouted in a panic, her nervous energy shifting and forcing her to cheer despite the fact that she had not entirely been paying attention to Matt. Wait a minute... Was he talking about Levi? Something about him dating his own sister? Oh, dear Merlin... She knew the boy was a bit off his rocker, but she had not expected this. But goodness... Matt certainly was cute up there roasting Levi. It was too bad the Gryffindor wasn't there to see it. Perhaps lucky for her, however, considering she was already flustered by Mathias' appearance, the last thing she needed was to be charmed by Levi's damn presence.

Regardless, Mathias' sudden change in both appearance and personality confused her. He was attractive enough to keep her distracted, now the comments about Levi had jolted her awake. Her face paled as she glanced nervously around the area to see if the Gryffindor had arrived yet, before scurrying up to the stage. "Matt..." She attempted to whisper, a pointless act given the attention her boyfriend was receiving. "I dislike Levi, but this is... S-Shouldn't you be warning girls about the potion?"
