Happy (almost) November 16^th, HiOvians! This is my second year here and my adoration of the site has only grown. To celebrate, I'm doing a giveaway much like last year's:

What is your favorite setting (the Courtyard, Great Lake, a class, store, etc): honestly, probably the dorms. I love the little details worked into Slytherin, about secret ways to open doors for example. Plus, I imagine the aesthetic would be reasonably pleasant.


What do you enjoy most about HiO so far?
It's rather well structured, which forces a proper narrative rather than freeform writing. It makes me want to go out and thread with a bunch of people to try and make narrative and thematic growth for little Ming (an effort in futility, I assure you. I'm rather too much of a sadist to let the boy have many normal, sane threads)



Tell me about one of your favorite scenes or IC/OOC interactions. There's quite a few, actually. If I had to pick one, I'd go with the boat thread. It's technically the first "on-screen" interaction with adults, and does a great job in setting both IC and OC expectations for me, as well as make some crucial initial connections (Della, Avery, Schneider).

What is your favorite setting:
The library, maybe its just my inner book obsessed self speaking but I just like the cozy feeling of silence while either studying alone, with friends or reading your favorite book. Plus, its also Rachel's favorite place.

What do you enjoy most about HiO so far?:
Everything! I enjoy the awesome roleplays and communicating with awesome people. Everyones so nice and helpful here. I also like the part where there's a random bean on top of a forum that you can collect XD.

Tell me about one of your favorite scenes or IC/OOC interactions.:
One of my favorite IC interaction was the goose errand where many people attempted to catch those wild ducks. It was fun to see others threads. Rachel met Samantha and Vivian there and them forming a group chasing and catching around geese.

What is your favorite setting: I love the astronomy tower, specially around night this must be something amazing to see specially if it was irl. I also love pretty much any place during the sunset period.

What do you enjoy most about HiO so far?:
I love how immersive roleplaying here can be, the user interface interface design etc is gold. For example the Halloween pumpkin theme really was a nice surprise to me

Breaking Avery's Violin and fighting him I specially enjoyed writing it,
but honestly right now I think my next thread might beat this up

This is a hard choice. I suppose my favorite setting may be the Courtyard. It has a sort of charm to it (and not just because Vale has questionable reasons to be there.) But I do enjoy all the settings nonetheless; they add more details of locations that the canon doesn't. Speaking of dividing from the canon...

What do you enjoy most about HiO so far?

Honestly? After giving this some thought over my time on HiO so far, I'd have to say the lore created for HiO. It explores more on things that were left untouched by the canon, and so having more information (even if not canon) can help create characters from being so stiff and non-diverse (is that the right word?)

Hm, Vale doesn't really have a lot of IC interaction that isn't first years like her. But OOC, I've been pretty invested in bean hunting for a while now, even helping out on discord on giving out bean locations (people seem to be happy with that.)

What is your favorite setting:
I love the Slytherin common room. There's something about the ambiance, and the dungeon that feels very creepy and mysterious but also very peaceful, I imagined.

What do you enjoy most about HiO so far?:
I'm gonna count this as my first RP experience, and I have to say, it's very fun and immersive. Also, the people have been really welcoming so far, so it's nice to go back to the time where I am deeply obsessed with Harry Potter and share it with other people.

Tell me about one of your favorite scenes or IC/OOC interactions :
I'm still very new to HiO, so I don't really have a lot of interaction yet. But as I mentioned, people have been really welcoming! so looking forward to spending more of my time here and meeting people and making friends!

It depends on whether we are talking about Lin, or me. Well, actually, it's the same place.
The common room. It's blue, it's big, it's high and it's so beautiful!
What do you enjoy most about HiO so far?
I like the atmosphere. And I think the spell system and the ability/race system are great.
Tell me about one of your favorite scenes or IC/OOC interactions.
Well, it's with Sakura. But that's when Shimizu defends her and Sakura tells her she can defend herself. I love that moment.

Clearly my favorite setting is the dueling club, since I love to sling spells at others, and I should consider joining the team eventually.

What do you enjoy most about HiO so far?

I rather enjoy the love everyone gives out towards each other.

Well, my favorite moment IC was when Cody got detention, and he had to deal with cleaning the Dueling Room for something ironic, dueling in the great hall.

Definetly the great lake, it contains Juniper's greatest crush; Squidward. Well, the GIANT squidward. Fun fact, she jumped in there when entering in boats with the rest of the firsties.

That everyone is so sweet to both me and my character

Hmmm.... that is HARD. Okay, I've got to say when, in the boat entrance thread, jumped in the lake to grab a kid's glasses. But before that she heard someone scream 'giant squid!' and she was all "OMG OMG SQUIDWARD!?" And she was leaning over the edge of the boat to see, acting like a big fangirl.

My favorite setting is probably either the library or the Gryffindor Common Room. The ambiance of the common room is beautiful. It is cozy, friendly, and has laughter in the air.

What do you enjoy most about HiO so far?

I enjoy the atmosphere of the site. Everyone is fun and inclusive. It's really the people that make the place and these people are pretty great.

Tell me about one of your favorite scenes or IC/OOC interactions.

Umm... I have a lot, but I guess one of my favorites is when Lizzy meets Akira Shimizu from Mahoutokoro. They become fast friends, even though there were many challenges to overcome, including Akira's blood purism. I also liked the thread where Lizzy discovers one of her best friends back home (Simon Kincaid) is also a wizard.
