Callista hasn't won a single duel yet, despite being a second year. She also got demolished by Dmitri and Opeila in the last duelling round, and as soon as she heard of this, she jumped at the chance to improve her skills. There's always going to be that voice in the back of her head that whispers: you aren't enough. This is just one more step she's going to take to prove that voice wrong.

Even though Cash still thought that Duelling is less thrilling than Quidditch, it still has its own appeal for the green eyes. Cash has been both the mod and the participant of last year's Battle of Wits and with an outlet like this, Cash could channel out their hidden love for Duelling.
