Hey, I want to rewrite the character description on my ency, because it's written in first person and I want to change it into third + add a few extra bits too. Am I allowed to just go ahead and edit this, or do I have to submit a form? thank you

If it's only about the layout (or first/third person), you don't need to re-register. However, if you are adding things to your history, I would recommend that you do. If you don't, there is the risk of having added things to your ency that staff is not ok with, and that could be seen as cheating/trying to get around index team and get you taken off the index (if you are in it).

Thank you What if I want to add things that have been part of my history since joining Hogwarts? For example, currently on my ency it says that Gabriella enjoys writing, but since joining Hogwarts prefers to paint and do art. Or would that fit better in another post? Saying your character likes to paint is allowed and you don’t need to reregister for that; it is a tame and common hobby, and people naturally don’t stick with the same hobbies and interests their entire life. Reregisters are for drastic changes that alter the core of your character entirely. You can organize whatever extra information you want in whatever order, just make sure the basics required for Index are in the first post. @Gabriella Haworth

Drastic backstory changes that can still be justified as in “my character now has a long-lost sibling when I previously never mentioned a sibling, because a friend joined or I found a rpg partner wanting to do that plot with me.”

The change of your previous faceclaim to this one is pretty drastic. You can try to reregister in Index but it likely won’t be approved in the first place. Drastic changes need to at least make some sense and not conflict too heavily with past threads. Your situation isn’t just a hair color change that could be described by hair dye or a long-lost sibling as a result of an affair, but a whole ethnicity change. You can't change your character's looks, unless you have them like, dye their hair or wear contacts or so. Changes only get accepted if they make sense IC and a drastic change of natural appearance never makes sense IC. To have a character that looks differently, you would need to wait 6 months, deactivate your character and create a new one.
