The youngest of seven children, even from a young age, Addie felt overshadowed by the vast accomplishments of her six older brothers. The more praise and awards her brothers accrued throughout their academic and professional careers, the further Addie delved into the world of mischief, seeking any way to pester both her siblings and her parents. Her family--in particular, her parents--did not so much appreciate this taste for chaos and the way it affected their social standing as a pureblood family. The tighter her parents clamped down on her, the more Addie acted out until it was a rarer occurrence for her to be out of trouble rather than in it.

Though she never cared for any of the schooling she received, Adeline could hardly wait to receive her letter from Hogwarts on her 11th birthday. To Adeline, Hogwarts spells freedom...as well as a castle full of new victims on which to unleash her practical jokes.

As she stepped up to the sorting hat her first night at Hogwarts, the last place she anticipated landing was Gryffindor, considering her devious nature and her family's history of producing proud Ravenclaws. Despite where she has been placed, viewing herself as her parents did--as a force of chaos--Adeline is seeking to defy the typical characteristics associated with a Gryffindor and fulfill what her parents already believe: that Adeline is nothing but trouble.

As all of her brothers showed signs of possessing magic by age five, as five, six, and seven all came and went, Addie feared she would end up a squib. But on a day as normal as any other, her fears were put to bed. While delicately placing a dungbomb atop her eldest brother’s door frame, Adeline felt the dungbomb slip through her fingers and plummet toward the ground. Frozen in horror, she watched as the dungbomb slowed, hovering an inch above the ground before gently touching down. So she wasn’t a squib after all...she was a witch, and happy to be so.

Adeline Hughes is a fierce and brave girl with a personality as bright as her orange hair and piercing blue eyes. No matter how much time she spends on it, her hair sticks up in every direction, making it difficult to hide or blend in, which is unfortunate for her, given her mischievous nature.

Her favorite article of clothing is her jean jacket, which is well-loved and fraying in multiple places. Addie never really understood the desire to dress nicely, which is why she mainly sticks to high-waisted jeans in every color and old, faded t-shirts that were passed down from her brothers.

Adeline's relationship with her parents is...strained at best. After six sons who were perfect trophies of what they wanted their family to be, Adeline has caused a lot of ripples in the way the Hughes family is perceived, much to the chagrin of Amelia and Theodore III. Having both been raised in proud pureblood homes themselves, the couple cares very deeply about maintaining their high social status, and do their best to sweep Addie's wrongdoings under the rug as well as quell her rebellious nature--even at the cost of pushing her away.

Job: Obliviator Age: 50 Amelia is a career-driven perfectionist who spends more time at the office than at home or with her family. She takes pride in her work and accomplishments and always strives to move up in the world and be at the top of the food chain. In her few moments of free time, Amelia enjoys tending to the vast garden that surrounds the Hughes estate.

Job: Unspeakable Age: 50 Theodore III is a quiet, solemn man who is highly devoted to his friends, family, and co-workers. He believes talk is cheap, and chooses to let his work speak for itself. When not working, Theodore III spends his time reading, researching, and learning as much as he can about whatver topic he is obsessing over at the time.

Adeline's never-ceasing desire to prove her strength and worth comes from the large shadow cast by her six perfect older brothers. As a child, she learned that she could never live up to the expectations placed on her no matter how hard she tried, and eventually, she gave up. Addie loves playing tricks on her brothers and enjoys making them look foolish any chance she gets, which has put tension in her relationships with them as well. Addie loves every one of her brothers, and deep down, she truly admires the lives they have built for themselves...though even she may not realize that yet.

Theodore IV	Job: Auror Age: 31 As the oldest Hughes child, Theo is admired by every one of his siblings, and all of them have in some way modeled themself after him. Amelia and Theodore III couldn't be more proud of the things their son has accomplished, and they mention his position in the ministry any chance they get. Addie's relationship with Theo IV is distant since there is an 18 year age gap between the two. To her, he feels more like an uncle than a brother.
Job: Hit Wizard Age: 30 Early on, Seb grew used to the feeling of being overshadowed by his older brother. When deciding on a career path, he chose to channel his anger into a job that would still grant him with a respectable position. Seb loves his job as a Hit Wizard, and is a bit more callous than the rest of his family because of the difficult nature of his work. Addie greatly admires Seb, and thinks he has the coolest job in the world. She wishes she was closer to Seb, but since he is always traveling for work, she doesn't have much of an opportunity to connect with him.	Sebastian
Archie	Job: Improper Use of Magic Office Age: 28 Archie is a quiet person who relates much more to the books he reads than to the people around him. He sees the world as black and white, and takes after his father more than any of the other Hughes children. Addie thinks Archie is very boring and can't understand why he would choose such a dull career. Her personality is fundamentally different than his, and because of this, neither of them really pay attention to the other.
Job: Accidental Magical Reversal Squad Age: 26 Jasper is the kind and funny, the life of any party, with lots of fun work stories that he loves to tell. His wit is sharp as a tack and he loves to poke fun at his family members, especially since the majority of them don't know how to respond to his jokes. Addie really enjoys being around Jasper and is always asking him for the latest joke or cool story. She also loves pranking him, because instead of anger, he always responds with a good laugh.	Jasper
Louis	Job: Foreign Affairs and Sports Dept. Age: 23 Louis never stops talking about the latest Quidditch League news, which no one else in his family cares about in the slightest. Most of the family has learned to tune him out, but they still have to brace themselves for the constant noise when he comes over. Addie is incredibly annoyed by Louis and mocks him constantly, not afraid to tell him to shut up or to plug her ears when he's around. Her pranks towards him have the most malicious intent.
Job: Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau Age: 22 Oliver has a deep love for animals and for spending time outside, observing them. He is kind, compassionate, sensitive, and loves spending time with his family, even if they frustrate him sometimes. Oliver still lives at home, not because he needs to, but because he is reluctant to be separated from his parents and his siblings, who visit often. Addie is the closest to Oliver, and they bicker and fight like loving siblings do. He is the sibling most commonly on the receiving end of Adeline's pranks, and he hates them, but in a weird way, he also knows it's how she shows affection.	Oliver
