Tea with the Portlaens PV Elspeth Closed

Clemence Bellamy had been talking about the Portlaens coming over for a week now, and today was the day. Apparently they had a daughter who would be going to Hogwarts with Ivy, and the parents wanted them to meet, to become 'friends'. But Ivy didn't make friends on a whim, and the only people who she considered friends were her younger sister, Alison, and her maidservant, Jessamine. (To be fair, she had never stepped foot outside of Bellamy Manor, but details, details...)

Now, wearing a dark blue dress and her brown hair in two Dutch braids, she sat in the tea room with her family and Jessamine to the side. "Now remember to be respectful," Clemence reminded her daughters for what seemed like the fiftieth time that day. Ivy only nodded, but Alison made a face at her when she wasn't looking, earning a reproving look from her older sister. When the butler ran in and told them that the Portlaens were here, Oliver and Clemence disappeared from the room. Ivy turned to her sister.

"Alison, do try and behave," she whispered harshly. Alison scowled at her and tossed her blonde plait, already coming undone, over her shoulder.

"I will if they are," was her spiteful reply. Before Ivy could say anything else, her parents reentered the room, this time with two new people behind them and trailing after them, a girl. She was quite pretty, with blonde hair and soft features, but she seemed to be a little too demure and quiet. After their parents exchanged greetings, Oliver Bellamy half-asked, half-ordered the children to leave the room and 'play'. Ivy nodded to Jessamine and took Alison by the arm gently. As she passed the other girl, Ivy tried to catch her eye and gestured that they should leave.

Once the adults were out of earshot, Ivy spoke. "I suppose I should introduce myself. I'm Ivy, and this is Alison and Jessamine. Where are you from?"
