If Ivy had not forgotten her books in the classroom, she would have never encountered Leanne Chua.

She had been halfway back to the Gryffindor common room, thinking perhaps she would go down to the Great Lake after dropping off her books. That was when she realised she didn’t have her books. Annoyed and rather embarrassed, Ivy retraced her footsteps and entered the classroom with the assumption that it was empty.

But no, of course it wasn’t. Ivy nearly jumped out of her skin when she saw a Ravenclaw still seated at her desk, scribbling notes down. Her eyes narrowed as she realised it was Chua. She had once been on rather good terms with the girl, but that had changed when Ivy “insulted” May, an annoyingly nice Hufflepuff, at breakfast. It escalated to the point where Chua thrusted her wand at Ivy’s throat, drawing blood and therefore guaranteeing the top spot on her list of enemies. Recalling the disastrous morning, Ivy touched her throat lightly. There had been no scar or scab left behind to help her remember, but she wasn’t forgetting the incident any time soon.

Ivy stood at the back of the classroom for a moment, debating whether she should leave and get her books later, or risk having to talk to the girl. She knew fully well that the cleaning elves would sweep it under the Lost Property sign hanging in one of the hallways, which was something Ivy did not want, as it was a long way away from the Gryffindor common room.

With a resigned sigh of defeat, Ivy walked down the classroom, determined not to look at Leanne as she grabbed her books from her desk up the front. She could not help herself from aiming a snarky comment in the other girl’s direction as she passed her, leaning against the table beside her. “Thrust your wand into someone else’s throat yet, Chua?”

@Ivy Bellamy
Two weeks after that disastrous breakfast
Leanne hadn't expected to see her so soon, after all her efforts to avoid 'Ivy Girl' like the plague: see her in the hallways, smirk at her and walk away; see her in the library, move to a different location...but they were still forced to be in the same room for classes. She still felt like throttling the girl every time a smug leer was sent her way, showing Bellamy was still sulking...and possibly planning her revenge.

After that disastrous breakfast, it wasn't long before the whole school somehow knew about it (she wholeheartedly blamed the rumor mill). It wasn't only Ivy's reputation that got ruined, hers too, as she watched her positive rapport towards her classmates and teachers slowly rip into shreds. Whispers and rumours followed her everywhere ("that girl who attacked a Gryffindor"), professors gave her disappointed looks, which made her feel utterly bad, and so many other actions. Leanne even had been pulled aside by one of the Ravenclaw prefects, and given a lecture about "what's acceptable, and what's not", ie, the usual depressing talk.

It wasn't exactly her fault for reacting  in such a way, for defending her friends against 'Ivy Girl'. Any other loyal and caring person would respond in a similar way, wasn't it?

It didn't help that Leanne felt extremely remorseful right after coming out of the Great Hall, as if being given a slap back to reality. She spent that evening crying in her dorm room, accidentally locking her dorm mates out (what an embarrassment that was), and had even put up a list of '101 things that you should NOT DO' right next to her bed. Leanne even tried to pen down several apology letters to Bellamy (only for the stabbing part), but they were rewritten a thousand times and ultimately ended up in the trash bin. She felt extremely remorseful for her aggressive actions, but still did not forgive the Gryffindor for talking trash about her friends.

Leanne had felt rather squirmish that afternoon, inwardly knowing that either something ominous was about to happen, or that it was a sign that she would procrastinate. Therefore, as a dutiful student (and to gain back her reputation), she had stayed back in class to finish her beautifully-designed notes, so that any mind-numbing information she absorbed didn't disappear. The rest of the time was spent in silence, as with only the scratching of quills heard, and her 'to-do' pile shrinking by the minute.

At last, she finished. Putting her recently completed notes for Witch Trials of 1692 right on top of the stack, the Ravenclaw was about to pack up, when she heard the sounds of shuffling footsteps nearby. They sound rather..reluctant. Maybe that person doesn't want to disturb me? Leanne made the mistake of looking up, right into the cold grey eyes of Bellamy. "You!" she hissed, glaring at the last person she expected to see. The sight of her sworn enemy triggered the waves of rage Leanne had persistently tried to quell for the past week. The remorseful part of her was suddenly squashed out, leaving behind a shell of rage-induced thoughts.

Ivy Girl had to throw in one last snarky comment (just like her), reminding her of the horrific actions she'd done. Leanne did not want to remember that at all. "To your disappointment, Ivy Girl, I haven't. Unless you would like a second mark on your neck?" She said coolly, and waited for her enemy to flinch in response.

Interacting with @Leanne Chua
Perhaps Chua wanted Ivy to flinch, but she obviously did not know her, because the Gryffindor was not the kind to flinch away from empty threats. "So you've gone from Poison Ivy to Ivy Girl," said Ivy. She purposefully made her tone full of boredom and indifference, because she knew it would infuriate the Ravenclaw. "How perfectly awful. Doesn't have the same ring to it."

She moved to stand in front of the girl and bent down to look at what Chua had been doing before she arrived and picked up a large stack of notes. She observed them carefully for a second. They were beautiful - bold, colourful headers, and neat, tiny handwriting with detailed sketches next to them. Ivy's own notes weren't bad either, her calligraphy-style handwriting appeasing to the eye, but Chua took this to a whole new level.

"You are such a try-hard, Chua. No wonder the teachers like you. Oh wait-" she tapped her lips in mock thoughtfulness. "They liked you." Ivy put an emphasis on the 'd'. "Past tense. Because you decided to attack me."

Ivy's grey eyes were cold, no longer playing. "Since your reputation is in shards already, you won't mind if I..." A tearing noise ripped through the air as Ivy tore the papers in half, her stony grey eyes fixed on the girl's face the entire time. She tossed them at Chua's feet. "Don't think this is the end of it, Chua," she spat. "There's more to come."
