Apologies And Cookies PV Breana finished

Ever since the incident down at the Great Lake three days prior, Ivy had felt like Breana greatly disliked her. The Ravenclaw hadn't called her out on it, but she could tell from the way Breana flinched away every time Ivy spoke or moved even slightly in her direction that they were not on good terms. It was understandable, but it still hurt. Ivy did not usually mind what others thought of her, but people she had wronged were different.

So she had taken a basket of cookies with her to dinner. Now, standing near the entrance, she seemed to had lost her nerve and was trying to coax her feet to move. Her legs felt like jelly. "Come on," she urged herself. "Don't be a coward!"

"Well, go on," the portrait beside her sneered. Ivy looked up, alarmed. A greasy-haired man sat on a chair, grinning down evilly at her. "I thought Gryffindors were supposed to be brave."

Ivy glared at the portrait. She would not be belittled by paint. As she walked towards the Ravenclaw table, the girl felt like people's whispers were following her.

"What is she doing?"

"Is she blind or something?"

"Someone tell her to leave."

Ivy's cheeks turned red. Looking up and down the Ravenclaw table for Breana, she finally spotted the girl sitting at the very end. Ivy groaned inwardly. It was just her luck that Breana was sitting right at the front. The Gryffindor took a deep breath and continued walking, her pale cheeks turning redder as the Ravenclaws whispered and stared. By the time she got to where Breana was sitting, she was flustered and terribly humiliated.

"Um, Breana?" Ivy muttered. "Can I sit down?" She clenched onto the basket for dear life and her grey eyes pleaded silently with the Ravenclaw, hoping that she would have mercy on Ivy's pride and permit to sit down.

Breana wasn't exactly doing great the past few days. Despite getting cheered up by a second year, and a prefect at that, the memory of the incident still lingered around in her mind. She wasn't exactly the same chipper girl that would talk to her roommates during breakfast. She barely raised her hands during classes, even Potions class.

Right now it's dinnertime and she felt she needed some alone time from her roommates, so she opted to sit up front on the other side of the table from them. Breana was poking on her meal casually, not even taking a bite as she heard whispers from other people. Figuring that it was just some sort of fight happening in the Great Hall, Breana didn't pay it any mind so she went back to poking her bacon.

She was about to finally take a bite out of her dinner when she heard an all too familiar voice. "No..." She thought to herself as she turned to look at the source of the voice. Unfortunately for Breana, she was right. It was Ivy, holding a... basket of sorts? She looked at her, stunned at her question before blinking back to reality. "W-wha--" She turned around to look at the rest of the table. "So she's the reason why people suddenly got riled up..." Knowing full well what it would feel like if you'd make a mistake at another one's house, She couldn't bring herself to be mean towards Ivy. "... Sure." She said, her then chimey voice replaced with one that had a tired overlay on it, most likely from her own overthinking of her own problems.

Breana did not look very pleased to see her, but she still permitted Ivy a spot at the table, her eyes downcast and her tone flat. The Gryffindor let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding. Ivy knew that if turned away, she would have to face the Ravenclaws' whispers again, and that wasn't something she wanted to do.

Noticing Breana's questioning look directed at the basket, Ivy cleared her throat. "Cookies," she explained, setting the basket in front of the girl. "I know it's not going to make up for what I did - not completely, anyway - but I wanted to tell you I'm sorry about what happened down at the Great Lake - properly."

Ivy fiddled with the blue ribbon tied to the woven straw handle. "I was in a bad mood and I needed somewhere quiet, you know? I know it's not a good enough excuse and I should've thought about what I was saying before, but I've always been kind of like this and I don't know how to change it." Ivy paused to take a breath and observed Breana's face carefully. She wasn't really sure if her apologies were working or not.

"I don't really know what came over me. I wish I hadn't snapped at you," Ivy concluded. She looked down, almost scared to hear the girl's response.

She raised her eyebrow, surprised that she had a basket of cookies on hand in the first place. Then her face slowly turned into confusion, as Ivy explained why she's carrying them. She didn't know what to think about it. In the past, whenever someone wronged her, it would wash off later on and then they will never interact again. That was it. So she never had an apology from a peer before, let alone a basket of cookies.

Breana listened to Ivy, nodding as she told her about her situation when they first met. She understood her reason, but it still baffled her that she'd still be that blunt. Still, if it's just how she is, it can't be helped, right? "Ah... well, I get it..." She nodded. "Though, can I give ya just a liiiittle bit of advice?" Breana smiled a little at Ivy. "Maybe you should keep your bluntness in check?" She chuckled, a bit of her usual chimey voice resonating through her little joke. "I can't speak for everyone, but it won't be great if this scenario will happen again, since you're in Hogwarts now and all. I mean, you'd have to buy a LOT of cookies if that's the case."

Ivy did not like being given advice, but she bore it and smiled at Breana. She was relieved that the Ravenclaw had taken her apology so well. "Thank you. I suppose I am a little too blunt at times," the girl admitted. "Sometimes it's the truth, but other times it's quite mean and unnecessary."

Ivy tucked her hair behind her ears and looked around at the Ravenclaw table. Most of them were still sending glares her way. "I... I've caused quite a stir," the Gryffindor said with a laugh. "It's rather awkward, isn't it? Well, seeing as I got what I came for, I'll get going." Ivy stood up and smiled. "Enjoy your cookies."

She opened her mouth to ask if Breana wanted to hang out sometime, but decided against it. It was a rather bold move, seeing as they just made up. In the end, what she decided to leave with was, "I'll see you in class," with a smile and a nod in Breana's direction. Ivy skipped off to join the Gryffindor table, her mood considerably lighter than it had been before.

"Yeah, well..." She took a cookie from the basket. "I guess that's all down to reading the atmosphere. Don't worry, I'm sure you can handle it fine now." Breana smiled reassuringly to Ivy, taking a bite on the cookie. She took another bite, admittedly liking the taste. Though for her, any cookie is a good cookie. It would take a lot for her sweet tooth to count something as a "bad cookie."

Breana looked around as Ivy brought up the fact that some of her fellow housemates were staring. TO her, they weren't staring at all. Maybe it's just the Gryffindor's jitters? She's in a different house's table, after all. "Er, just a lil' bit, but I think they'll get pass that..." She giggled. She turned back to Ivy. "And I don't think so-- oh, you're leaving? Already?" She asked, confused and surprised. She looked around. Unsure if it's allowed for someone to invite another student who's in a different house to the table, Breana figured she'd just let her be for now.

She nodded and waved using the cookie she took a bite out of. "Uhh, see you in class, Ivy..." She said, still confused with the sudden leave. Still, she gave the Gryffindor girl a smile, as if to say "we're cool now." She looked down at the basket of cookies, wondering if she can finish it all in one sitting. The short answer is, yes. Yes she can.
Also It's okay, Ivy! You can tag the thread as finished now~
