Ever since Joni's family met her, she was incredibly intuitive for her age. She would read people incredibly well and, though she would hide from everyone, would act more alarmed around some people than others. As she got a bit older that evolved into subtly judging people based off her own intuition and subtly showing them how she felt. She had also been odd in the sense that she was extremely empathetic towards animals. There had been multiple instances where she would say something like, "Mama, my head hurts", or "Ma, my leg hurts". Then she would fidget uncomfortably for a few minutes before walking in a random direction. Typically, they'd find an animal who was injured on the same body part Joni had said hurt; and they never failed to help them. Joni didn't know this, but her birth grandmother (who she had only met at a very young age and didn't remember) was a Seer. In fact, the reason that Joni was given up to her mothers was because her birth mother had died and after four years, her grandmother decided that she didn't want Joni anymore. She didn't think that, with such a burdening talent, she could take care of a child. So she asked some of her daughter's friends to take care of Joni for a few days. No one saw her after that. Joni's Ma, Noelle, tried to practice Divination, even though the most she could do was read tea leaves or burn incense. Noelle always involved Joni in things like tarot readings and palm readings, and she always said Joni had a talent for it. Joni is also written to be a very spiritual, intuitive character, and I believe having the talent of a Seer would fit her character very well. Joni doesn't jump into situations impulsively; she thinks before she speaks. What she lacks in physical size and strength she makes up for with amazing intelligence and intuition. I feel like realizing she's a Seer and trying to deal with a talent like that would further her character development. It would also give an opportunity for Joni to try and look more into her birth family; learning she's a Seer would naturally make her wonder how that ended up happening, which would make her want to do more research and learn more about her birth family and their history. Also, if Joni had any kinds of visions about bad things happening, it would challenge her (and me!) to make careful decisions to try and control what's going to happen. It would also give Joni an opportunity to focus on Divination and practice what she loved doing with her Ma. In my opinion, Joni being a Seer would make sense with her backstory and make her character arc much more interesting, giving her a chance to develop her decision making skills and how she would tend to handle difficult situations like having visions about bad things happening.
Thank you so much! If there's anything I can change about the application please let me know!

Character Backstory:

Joni's birth mother died shortly after having her, and her father had left a while ago, leaving Joni with her grandmother. Unfortunately, Joni's grandmother didn't think that she could take care of Joni (this could still stand if she was a Seer or not, I believe) so she asked some of Joni's mother's friends, Noelle and Morgan, to take care of Joni for a few days. Then she disappeared.
Joni was raised in an extremely loving household, and she immediately warmed up to her family. She knew she loved them from the first day she stayed in their house. Morgan was a very "tough love" kind of parent, but was still kind and gentle with Joni and Emmett... when they really needed it. Noelle was more of a gentle and quiet woman and the calmer of the two, and she taught Joni and Emmett to be empathetic and kind. They were all very happy as a family and would easily joke and make conversation.
But Joni couldn't do that with other people.
She really disliked everyone except her family; simply showing it less with other people. She was often scolded by other adults for being disrespectful, but her mothers were always quick to defend her. They knew that if Joni didn't like someone, she probably had her reasons. And they always trusted those reasons, which was the reason that Joni got along so well with her mothers.

First Instance of Magic: Joni was sitting at home with her mothers and Emmett and playing with her little brother. While they were playing, the toys started moving on their own for a few seconds before stopping. Joni's mothers were extremely excited and immediately started telling Joni their stories from Hogwarts.

1. Your seer application does not meet the word count of 500 words without the OOC text. Empathy towards animals is also not a sign of the seer ability. Please refrain from describing why you want the ability and focus on how it manifests in/fits Joni.
2. Please give an explanation for how the guardianship worked legally. How did Joni's mother die and why did her father leave? Please ensure that your backstory matches the one in your encyclopaedia and include your First Instance of Magic in your encyclopaedia.

Mary grew up on her family estate. The sprawling grounds were Mary's favorite place to play, however its also where she got into the most trouble. Mary was incredibly clumsy, and had the biggest imagination. Mary's clumsiness was no one's fault but her own. However Mary's mother Rosa could be faulted for her imagination. You see, Rosa has been telling Mary stories of Hogwarts ever since she could learn to walk. Mary was fascinated at the idea of magic, spells, potions, staircases that could move! The only thing that kept Mary from going completely of her rocker, was her father Edward. While Edward did believe in magic he also believed in logic. So he instilled in Mary that while magic was beautiful, she should also take great care in knowing it's dangers. That never stopped Mary from dreaming though. She spent her days reading books of wonder and magic, or staring up at the night sky dreaming of flying high over the clouds with her broom. She kept hoping with all her heart that one day she would attend Hogwart's, she would learn spells and make her parents proud! She would show them that she wasn't just clumsy, but intelligent and keen. But what Mary hoped for most of all.. a secret wish she kept close to her heart.. was that she would make a one true friend. (a human one not just her dog Tulip)

Mary's parents were taking her for ice cream just a few days before her 11th birthday, but as they were coming home a rabbit had leapt out of the bushes! Mary held her hands in front of her face, frightened and suddenly the rabbit turned into a dog. Mary and her parents were astonished. (This is also the story of how Mary got her first dog, Tulip her loyal companion and treat lover.)

OOC note: What is written here is written by establishing connections with the past and indicates that they entered the house after the **** sign and went to the living room.

Lenora had been a different child since birth. Her fair skin was too pale, and her nails were growing faster than normal. As a baby, her family tried to make it seem normal, thinking it was because she was from her real family.

By the time she was three years old, all her teeth had grown in except her canines. They had an interesting conversation when they went to the dentist.
"Hmm very interesting. Are you sure you didn't really have an accident?"

The dentist spoke as he carefully examined little Lenora's mouth. The gaps where her canines had been had really made him think.

"No. As we said, her canines never came in, but when she was feeding our daughter, we could have sworn there were teeth there. Right, Brandon?"

Cassandra looked at her husband for help. When Brandon nodded confidently, the dentist sighed.
When she was five years old and her family went out on sunny days, they always put sunscreen on Lenora, as they did, so the little girl could stay outside a little longer. However, the process took longer, and she ended up with sunburns on some parts of her body. It was more severe and painful than it would be for an albino. As a result, Cassandra and Brandon began searching for Lenora's real family.
"I know this is against the rules, but it's urgent. Please, Lily."

Lily looked at her colleague and saw the pleading in her eyes. With a sigh, she began to speak.

You know how much I love Lenora, Cassandra, but we've already broken enough rules, but for the sake of our friendship, I'll take care of the women who gave birth that day."
On November 4th, it was revealed that only two births had taken place at the hospital, but nothing was learned except that Lenora's mother was Isabella and where she lived. When they arrived at the address, a woman with brown hair, green eyes, and an ink-stained top answered the door.
"What do you want?"

"We were looking for Isabella Swam"

The woman frowned when she heard the name Isabella and spoke, examining Cassandra and Brandon.

"People like you, how do you know my friend's name?"

*******

"Oh yes, November 4th. I remember. But I can't tell you about it without telling the truth, so I ask you to believe me and not tell anyone.

As they talked, Cassandra and Brandon surveyed the living room. The parchments and ink bottles on the table gave the impression of being in an ancient time. The house seemed to belong to another time.

"We are ready to listen, no matter how interesting it is."

"Normally I'm forbidden from saying this, but as Lenora's guardians, you need to know these things. Lenora is a witch."

Cassandra frowned, trying to make sense of what the woman was saying.

"Like the witches in fairy tales?"

"Yes. Witches and wizards are not normally something people like you, or Muggles as we call them, are supposed to know about."

The woman waited for the family to digest what she had said. Then she grabs her wand from the couch and waves it, sending the pillows flying. Cassandra and Brandon stare at her in shock as they continue talking.

"Normally we can't use magic in front of Muggles, but Lenora will start doing it eventually, so you need to be prepared."

Brandon was the first to recover from the shock.

"So that's why her canine teeth didn't come out.

"Actually, it's because she's a dhampir. Isabella's family was thinking of marrying her off to a pureblood because they were old-fashioned. Isabella was dating a dhampir named Leonard and they were meeting at my house. When Isabella found out she was pregnant... She was afraid her family would do something, so she gave birth in a muggle hospital and abandoned the baby that day. I cut off contact with her so I don't know how she is ..."

Biography:
Reducio
Born albino, Lenora was abandoned by her biological parents in her hospital room at a young age. The nurses, out of sympathy for the little girl, told Cassandra and her husband, Brandon, co-workers who had suffered a miscarriage the same day, about the baby. They immediately accepted her, believing her to be a miracle, and named her Lenora, the Spanish word for light.

Lenora, whose mother is a doctor and father is a piano teacher, was educated at home due to her special condition. They were showing their affection to Lenora, who had become a bright light in their family life after Cassandra learned that she could no longer become pregnant due to a miscarriage.

After Lenora came home, Cassandra and Brandon adjusted their lives around the little girl. For example, Cassandra and Brandon, who normally live in an apartment in the crowded city of London, move to a town far from the city.

Cassandra quit her job to spend more time with her baby, but Brandon received sweet gifts every time he came home from work. Even though Lenora was 3 years old, she listened to her mother reading a book every night before going to bed with interest and curiosity, as if she understood it.

Lenora's favorite season is winter, as she goes skiing during her winter holidays and she always carried cat and dog food in her bag for the animals.

Cassian Blackwall
Name: Cassian Blackwall
House: Ravenclaw
Year: First Year
Birthday: April 1st, 2014
Blood Status: Half-blood
Character Side: Encyclopedia Here

Arrival at Hogwarts:
It was early in the morning. Cassian stretched and goes into the kitchen, where his mother was already working. She was a Muggle, she knows a lot about the wizarding world. When Cassian’s father handed him the Hogwarts letter with the supply list, nothing could stop him from heading straight to Diagon Alley that very same day.

Personality:
Cassian is naturally a quiet and thoughtful person. He often reflects on his own actions and worries about the things he might have done wrong—too much, really.
He’s especially concerned about what others think of him, which made the house sorting quite stressful. He didn’t want to end up in a house that would disappoint his parents or teachers.
He’s trustworthy and careful in how he handles conflict. He doesn’t explode right away when something upsets him, but if something truly gets under his skin, and he believes a spell might help fix the situation… he might cast a tiny jinx. But that’s rare.

Backstory
Cassian has loved Quidditch since he was little. He and his father spent countless hours racing around the field on their Cleansweep Sevens, and Cassian was convinced he would compete in professional chess later on!
His hobbies in his "old" life were judo, karate, and (of course) Quidditch. He was quite good at wizard chess.
He has a younger sister, a wizard father who works at the Ministry, and a Muggle mother who integrated well into the magical world. They lived in a small village in England and spent a lot of time together. His mother taught him a lot about Muggles, and his father a lot about magic. His mother often took him to Muggle activities (like yoga or the zoo). He always felt at home at the zoo because he felt a connection with the animals. Although his mother always said, "You'd never be able to keep animals like that as pets," Cassian was completely thrilled by the idea of being able to keep a tiger or something else as a pet... But as well as Cassian and his mother get along, the more arguments upset him. Even earlier, when the two argued, he immediately thought that she didn't love him anymore, which would be the end of the world for him. But luckily, his mother always comforted him. As mentioned above, he shares his father's love of Quidditch. He has always felt the tension in Quidditch and the disappointment after every defeat. At the age of 6, Cassian set himself the goal of playing for the Chudley Cannons and leading them back to their glory days. But outside of Quidditch, Cassian would describe their relationship as more friendly than his relationship with his mother. His sister is a squib but they get along very well. Cassian wanted to coach her to play Quidditch until they both threw a Quaffle through the neighbor's window. After that, that was it. But the special thing was that no matter what happened, they got through it together, not alone!

Nebeninformationen:
Name: Cassian Blackwall
House: Ravenclaw
Year : First Year
Birthday : 1.4.2014
Blood Status: Half Blood

-- Your backstory combines different topics. What I need you to write about in 220 words is your character's life BEFORE hogwarts. Was the family life great? Did they have a brother and did they win a fight against them at some point in their childhood?
-- Please dont include friends and acquaintences (and the interactions with them) into the backstory, as it does not count towards word count. In addition, the backstory is about their life BEFORE Hogwarts, not after or during.
-- I also do not need to know about their quidditch team faves, but what does work out is his dream of helping the Chudley Cannons become great again. However, we do not need you to list that you are looking forward to the flying lessons or what your favorite teams are

Gael was born in Liverpool on the 30th November, 2013. He was born a Drake, a family who's lineage goes back to a foreign Pure-blooded family located somewhere in Norway. Gael doesn't fully know where or even what the original family name was, as his Father felt he should not divulge the information on it to his son. The Drake family is, unlike the main family, a Half-Blooded family as they felt it would be better to look outwards to the ingenuity of muggle inventions to find greater ambition, rather than blindly follow the ambitions of traditional Wizards. Gael's Father was more traditional than his ancestors forefathers however, as he wanted Gael to grow up knowing the Wizarding World from the start and would personally tutor him on basic education to prepare him for a life in Hogwarts. His Mother, however, felt he needed to understand where he was coming from, and she would often show Gael the wonders of the Muggle World, taking him to Muggle shows, ordinary non-magical parks and trips to larger metropolitan areas, such as Liverpool City Centre. Gael would spend most of his days inching more towards enjoying a Wizards lifestyle more than a Muggle's lifestyle, until finally he received his letter of acceptance into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry, solidifying his wish to fully embrace the Wizarding World and completely leave behind his old Muggle life, much to his Mother's dismay.

First Instance of Magic:

One day, when Gael was 6, when his Mother was doing one such trip to a muggle park, Gael would begin getting bullied by a Muggle Boy. He would constantly harass Gael until finally, Gael shouted at him to get away, causing an unnatural gust of wind to knock the boy over. His Mother realised what had happened, that this was Gael's first instance of accidental magic, and so she quickly left with Gael.

The moment Chada was able to take the family records and hide away in her tent was a moment of slight happiness. A whole world to explore, her family, her bloodline. Based off the first few books, she'd learned how the Sangthong's had to pull themselves up from the dirt. Thai pureblood, wizard immigrants to Ireland who had to learn a whole new world. Despite the cleanliness of their blood, many people didn't seem to respect their different approaches to magic. And, instead of keeping to their roots, they assimilated themselves into the society like a proper pureblood family. It opened the girl's eyes to their struggles, trials and tribulations to earn the respect of proper society dating all the way back to the 1930s. It was exciting and invigorating, being proven by actual evidence that she knew her family wasn't supposed to be reduced to this distasteful state. They worked so hard to earn their place, and the story of their endeavors only strengthened Chada's determination.

Every new day, a new book opened and read to completion. It was such a surprise to know how prideful previous Sangthong's were, it made her feel like she actually belonged for once. Day in, day out Chada read and read, until she stumbled across a different book in the collection. It was leather and bound by magic, a puzzle in the sea of open records. It left the girl stumped, and of course her parents wouldn't know how to open it, useless! Frustrated, the girl tried to ignore it for a day or two, continuing on with other records. But, of course, curiosity eventually won out.

It took Chada half a day before she finally tried looking for clues in the books, and even then it took two days before she finally found a hint. A drop of Sangthong blood was needed to open it, due to the book containing all of their deepest, darkest secrets. That put the girl off momentarily, not at all a fan of pain when it came to her own body, but after much hesitation she gave in. Her thirst for knowledge and need to know every bit of her forgotten family was too strong to deny. Due to the secrecy of the operation and knowing just how sensitive the information in the book was, Chada took a knife with her along with the book and left to leave the inner circle of tents. She went just a little bit into the nearby forest, not too deep so she could find her way back if it got too dark. Perched beneath a large tree, Chada cut the tiniest bit into her hand and let the blood drip onto the cover of the leather book. There was a blinding light momentarily, before it became to slowly fade away.

The forest was silent for a moment as Chada rubbed her eyes and waited for her vision to clear, taking a moment to herself before turning her attention back to her book. Her eyes widened in wonder and awe as she began to process the information of the forbidden family secrets, from how a former family head had killed their secret family, to the great downfall and all in-between. Not all of it did she force herself to read, not yet, mass majority of it was too much for her child mind. But, what did catch her mind was a word about snakes. In particular, Parselmouth. Now, her family might have detached itself from pureblood and all its affairs, but the implications of such an infestation was not lost upon them. Reading about it had manifested itself in one of their family members in 1956 was almost blood chilling, if not ridiculously interesting. As she tried to read more about it, the sound of a strange voice behind Chada made her jump.

"What a peculiar little thing..." The voice almost sounded like a hiss, and it caused the young girl to scramble up and hold out the carving knife in her distress. Black eyes darted around, looking for the person who was creeping on her. Confusion began to settle in when Chada couldn't find the person who spoke to her, but her blood ran cold when she felt something cool slither past her ankles. "How rude....hasn't anyone taught you manners?" Dumbfounded, Chada looked down and felt her eyes widened as she realized that the person speaking...was a snake. And...she could understand it? Her brain began to work overtime to connect the books and before long she was shoving the book back into her face once more. She ignored the snake crawling all around her ankles and whining about wanting a conversation as she realized the Parselmouth ability had manifested in her after being, supposedly, dormant in her family for nearly 60 years. An uncharacteristic squeal slipped from her lips as she hurriedly threw the snake off of her and stumbled her way home, now in a rush to tell her parents of her newest discovery. It was off-putting and unsettling at best, but after awhile she learned to be somewhat at peace with it. This was fine, this just solidified even more to Chada that she truly was the chosen one to bring her family back. Another point of pride.

Character Backstory:
Reducio
The Sangthong Family name may be unfamiliar to the general public, to those with tainted blood they were merely another pureblood family who simply faded from existence. To those truly worthy of note, the downfall of the Sangthong's is one of tragedy. A cautionary tale to other purebloods, new and old alike. You see, during the 1960s the Sangthong family was in their prime. Wealth, immense. Status? Unquestionable. They had allies in more than a handful of other Pureblood families, and that made them a hot topic on their own. But, like Icarus, someone had to fly too close to the sun. A thorn in their perfect garden, a betrayer, Judas themselves. Greed built their empire, and greed was their ruination.

A name so heavily scrubbed from their walls that no one even remembers who or what they were anymore. This wretch was their undoing, their hunger for more. It, we shall call it. A rat not worthy of a name, It had the flawed grace of the Sangthong's head at the time. It took advantage of this, using their connections to cover it in its revolting ooze of avarice. Gambling, black market connections, trafficking. All in the head of the family's name, unbeknownst to him or anyone else. It continued on for an uncomfortably long time before the actions finally caught up to the Sangthong's. The Ministry, debt collectors, and even their own fellow purebloods were soon knocking at their door. It was ugly, it was grim, it was devastating. All of their wealth and status, gone in the snap of a finger. Everything they worked so hard to build up, gone just like that. Even those they considered their closest allies turned their backs on them, even their friends the Vinogradov didn't have the time nor resources to help them.

It was heartbreaking, it tore the Sangthong's apart literally and figuratively. It drove some of their prouder members to take their own lives, and others to fully detach themselves from the Sangthong name. A mass majority of them went into hiding, turned into wandering nomads that now carry a dead name that only earn sneers from those that even bothered to know the history. Now they are almost entirely lost to time, with former head's leaving their journals with important information hidden away. The lost hope was for the Sangthong's to rise again after their disgrace, but none dared to relight the flames.

Until today.

August 1st, 2014. The world was blessed with the birth of a flame reborn in human flesh, the Sangthong's missing piece that would reunite them once more. Chada "Anogg" Sangthong. Despite how heavy her destiny was, unbeknownst to her at the time, Chada's parents were unaware of the person they brought into the world at the time. Arthit and Koh Sangthong were polar opposites of their child. Whereas she was headstrong and bared her teeth easily, they were calm, relaxed. Free-spirited nomads who loved to travel all over Ireland with their group, thriving off of the land. Even in all their "sin", they were still a pureblooded group, only interacting with the magical world and accepting other like-minded purebloods within their group. For a blessed few years since her birth, Chada forced herself to attempt and try to enjoy their way of life, despite feeling like she was missing something. It wasn't until her 10th summer did it all finally click.

The Group, as Chada dubbed them, stumbled upon an old and long since forgotten home in their explorations. The Group had said the "vibes" were "off" and none had approached, except Chada. Something in her chest pulled her to get closer, and when her parents weren't looking, she was already climbing the vines and entering the decrepit home. It was full of dust and smelled absolutely horrid, but she pushed forward. Deeper and deeper into the house she ventured, until she discovered a dusty study. Inside this study, Chada felt as if her life was changed, like she had found the missing piece. Inside that study was the long-forgotten history of the Sangthong family, preserved with the magic that they once held proudly. No one could pull Chada from that room that day, she ignored her parent's calls for her for at least 3 whole days while she read their forgotten history, all the way down to That Day. When she'd actually left the rotting building, Chada had a vow in her heart. She wanted her family to be the ones to restore their glory, to rise the Sangthong's back-up once more. It was a tense discussion that last for months on, their daughter stubborn and unrelenting, now even demanding they call her Anogg instead. It was a rebirth, she reasoned, a chosen name to shred herself of the nomad life she detested so much, and somewhat of a boundary set between child and parent. Arthit and Koh eventually came to realize it was a lost cost to stop this ideation when Chada's Hogwart's letter came in. She wasn't going to be stopped.

It was like a boiling pot that was waiting to overflow.

Everything had changed since Chada had discovered her family's past, tensions were high and relationships were strained. Arithit had to tread carefully around his own child, who had opted to self isolate herself with those wretched books and ignored everyone else. She'd even ignored little ole Mary, and he thought those two were like peas in a pod! Now, don't get Arthit wrong, he wanted his daughter to do whatever made her happy in life, because he loved her so very much! But, there comes a time where even must set his foot down, or at the very least attempt to. What they didn't say was that Chada got her way all the time. And telling her no now of all times? Yeah, he was gonna need all the luck in the world.

With a heavy heart, and knees bent together almost sheepishly, Arthit entered Chada's tent. The space was filled to the brook with all kinds of books, family records he assumed. As he expected, he found his lovely daughter situated in the middle, face buried into another dusty book. He walked up carefully, slowly, as if approaching a wild animal. "Ahh, my darling Chada...." Said girl flinched at the name and looked up over the brim of her book with a heavy glare. Arthit flinched, it was embarrassing honestly. "I-I was wondering if you planned to leave your tent today? You know, little Mary was asking for you and--" He was interrupted before he could even finish, deflating almost instantly. "I'm not going out to play, Father. I need quiet to read. Leave me!" Chada was dismissive, practically waved her own father off like he were a mere fly.

Normally, Arthit wouldn't have put up a fight after that, and would have gone to just whine to his wife about their daughter being a big meanie, again. But, he could see the changed look in his child's eyes, and it frightened him if he was being honest. They were already vastly different since her birth, but he always had some hope that eventually it would change and Chada would accept their lifestyle. All he could see, instead, was continuous pushback. It hurt his heart and he couldn't help but lash out like a child. "Chada! The past is the past for a reason! Now, I am your dada, and I command you to cut this misbehavior out this instant!"

Silence.

Pure, unbelievable silence filled the air after Arthit's outburst. It took the sound of him taking a step back onto a book for it to be broken. Chada shot up from her sitting position and hissed at her father. She was livid, her eyes narrowed in unbridled anger. "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?" A spark shot across the room before suddenly the books around her were pushed back by a pulse wave that seemed to emit from her. It stunned Chada but Arthit looked the most affected. He knew that since she was fully aware of herself now, he truly had lost his one and only child to the life they had given up.

Unknown to Erik he comes from a line of purebloods known for producing well known seers every few generations. That became the family's almost sole trait to the public, unfortunately or more so thankfully. Erik will never be in contact with this hateful side of his heritage focused on blood and superiority. Instead he’s surrounded by warmth from his mother and who he considered his real father. On his mothers magical side, they only know of one instance of his great grandmother being a seer. The story passed down the generations, and Erik idolized her story just as much as his mother, and her mother. But he never thought he’d end up being one himself, the chances were just improbable, impossible to him. Especially without having any knowledge of the pureblood line he's descended from. It was never on his bucket list to be one.

Growing as a child, Erik was naturally intuitive. That had always contributed to how observant he was, always taking things in rather than adding on to the situations at hand. No one stopped to think maybe his actions and observation were based off of the general guess and hunches Erik had. During school, while it rarely happened if he forgot to study for a test, of course he’d do his best, but eventually he’d have to end up guessing with his gut feeling. Somehow still getting a rather good score and handful of the questions he guessed on right purely from feelings alone. Other kids in his class realized Erik was surprisingly good at finding lost items as well. It started off with people announcing they had lost an item and Erik suggesting with a shrug where it might be. Low and behold most of the time, he was right. It became a joke and rumor around his class and grade level at school that he had some sort of magic, or that he was a dog in human disguise from how well he could find lost items.

Honestly, Erik just paid attention to his surroundings more than most kids his age. And he learned to trust his intuition since it's rarely done wrong by him. The only truly unexplainable moment he's had that seemed more like luck than anything else happened when he was ten. He and his friends were biking home from school together, and boys being boys, decided they wanted to race in the empty streets. Going uphill was easy, ironically enough, it was the same downhill they had traversed so many times before that decided to cause them trouble.

“Hey uhh- I don’t know man, maybe we shouldn’t keep the race going! We can always just start it back up on the straight road close to home.” Erik's voice rang out shaky, uncertain between panted breaths. Legs aching from strain as he peddled against the steep hill. They’d done this so many times before and yet something was screaming in the back of his head. Something was going to go wrong and it was crawling into his throat, closing it off as he desperately tried to keep up with his friend who only seemed to laugh and peddle faster.

“You’re just upset that I’m winning, don’t think you can fool me Erik!”

“No I’m being serious, something feels wrong-”

“Yeah yeah yeah, try to keep up slowpoke. Eat my dust!” They cheered, reaching the hill's peak.

The terrible knot in Erik's stomach tightened before snapping. Wait. Wait, what was that sound? Did something actually snap? The panicked yell was the only answer Erik needed. Pedling as fast as he could, screaming at his friend to try and steer towards the left as they both only gained speed uncontrollably as they raced down the hill. A bush came into view that his friend trusted him to crash land into, as Erik went to the sidewalk jumping off bike. As soon as he did so a car raced past. Something neither boy would have been able to react to, and the car itself not being able to stop in time if worse came to worse. Heart beating like a drum Erik rushed over to his friend, who thankfully only got away with a few scrapes and bruises but nothing serious.

His bike chain was broken, snapped apart and flew off just like Erik's gut feeling. Unlike Erik he wouldn’t have been able to brake his bike for control, if they didn’t start heading towards the side when they did… Erik hugged his friend tightly, refusing to let go for ages. They both walked home the rest of the way, pushing their bikes along as they talked. Forgetting the incident not too long after it happened. Both children and their parents wrote it off as blind luck, but that night Erik went to bed thanking whatever entity out there that gave him this intuition.

Erik was the product of a one night stand between his mother and an unnamed pureblooded man. When she first discovered her pregnancy, she was struggling to stay afloat just living by herself. Struggling but determined, she reached out to her parents for help. Swallowing her pride just this once, they let her move back into the family home for the time being. Delighted to have their hyper independent and prideful daughter back with them even for a short time. Saying it was just till she could be able to support herself and her unborn child. Aside from her parents, she had her friends and the one regular at the cafe she worked at, Henderson Reagan; they gave her all the support she could need. Mainly emotional since she in her own words refused any "handouts." Having known Henderson for quite some time they quickly became friends and even started to date. Henderson still sticking around despite knowing the circumstances of Anna's pregnancy.

Despite having access to magical healthcare as a half-blood herself, there were many complications with Anna’s pregnancy. Henderson stood by her side through all of it, and was in the delivery room holding her hand when she went into labor. Erik was born on the 23rd of december 2013, and Anna considered him her christmas miracle. At some point a few months into her pregnancy she moved into Henderson’s home. Erik ending up taking residence in the already prepared nursery by their room. Together they raised Erik for five years until Henderson finally proposed to his mother. Erik doesn't remember much from their wedding, just being told to walk down the aisle and scatter flower petals. Yet instead he dropped the hand woven wooden basket and ran to Henderson instead. Being scooped up by his father as they both watched in awe as Eriks mother started to walk down the aisle.

With both his parents, Anna and Henderson alike being half bloods. They understood the importance of growing up with a healthy balance between both worlds. So Erik attended regular public school growing up, yet would have private tutors and paid classes by wizards with a few other magical children his age. His parents were wonderful people, and extremely caring, but they were busy. While they never intended for it, Erik grew up mainly alone. School, come home to a nanny, and after school lessons. They always made up for it when they were home with him, with excursions, vacations, or spending time with him; but that never managed to fix the growing ache in Eriks heart. He was observant, he was curious, he saw it happening. So he realized early on the easiest way to get attention from his parents, the only way that was assured, was through his accomplishments. Their praise made up for the lack of presence, and Erik relied on it like a lifeline.

The better he did in school, or lessons, or doing things to help around the house, the more praise he received. It was only a matter of time for him to start to become a perfectionist, to not want to venture and do things if he already knew what he was good at. While he was scolded often, when he was it devastated Erik. So hooked and reliant on praise their disappointment hit hard, so Erik did his best to avoid receiving it. He dived into books, studies, anything that could further his success. Anything to help him achieve something for his parents to be proud of.

His parents never meant to have such an impact on Erik, nor did either realise it. They’re a happy family truly, Erik is just desperate to earn affection when there are busy people.

Erik isn't fragile, despite being scrawny and lacking brute strength. He's agile and has always had a surprising amount of stamina, always loving to race with his classmates and friends when they play outside. He's not fragile, like most would think, but he does have a pollen allergy. Sometime in the spring the now nine year old boy and his friend were rough housing in Erik's backyard. Play fighting as their parents watched and chatted together at the gathering between their families. As things started to get a bit too tough their parents stepped him calling to the boys to knock it off. Erik and his friend both groaned, but his friend got off from on top of Erik. As Erik managed to sit back up, clothes rustled and strands of grass poking out from his hair. Dirt all over his clothing and face, but he didn't mind much.

Grinning as he argued with his friend about the comeback he was never actually going to make. Pausing mid sentence as he felt he was about to sneeze, the pollen in the air and all the movement kicking it up getting to him. Sneezing into the flowerbed below him, but to his and everyone's surprise, the flowers around where Erik sat vanished. Later in the day those same missing flowers where found in the pages of books Erik frequently reads. His friend, and Erik's father never let him live down his first bout of magic being a sneeze of all things. It became a running joke that always made Erik's face go red from embarrassment.

Leo didn't know this until he was eight, but his birth mother isn't actually Emilie Casper; his birth mother is a vampire named Allisa Bloodthorn. Allisa had met Leo's father, Allisa Casper, one day when he was out of the Ministry, doing some work, and he was close to vampire territory. David had fallen for Allisa at first sight, and felt bad, but ended up sleeping with her, having an affair. David didn't know that he had gotten her pregnant with his son until she gave birth on May 4, 2014, and dropped off baby Leo, all bundled up, at David's doorstep. Emilie Casper, David's wife, opened the door and was shocked to see Leo, but Leo looked exactly like his father, but paler, so she took him in. But she had David explain the entire story to her. How Leo was conceived, who his mother is, etc. Emilie didn't flip out; she just calmly listened to what David had to say before she sent an owl to her work and notified her boss that she would be on leave until she found someone to look after Leo. Leo was born with pale skin, nearly ghostly white, and his eyes were a blueish grey color. From a young age, Leo has been eating blood pops, but when he was a young infant, his birth mother would send in blood bags for Leo to drink whenever he got thirsty and needed blood.

Leo always wondered why his skin was paler than others in his community and was also curious about why he didn't like the sun much. Whenever he went outside, he always covered his arms and legs and wore Muggle lotion called sunscreen, to prevent him to not getting burned while playing outside with his friends. In summer, he'd wear sunscreen on his arms and legs and neck and face, so he'd be able to be outside more and wear summer clothes as well. When Leo was eight, David sat him down, and Leo learnt for the first time that he's a dhampiar. Leo was confused at first, but then realized that, because of being a dhampiar, he was stronger and faster than his friends, didn't like the sun much, and had missing teeth, which were apparently where his fangs were. However, Leo didn't understand how he was a dhampiar, since his father never said how. His mother, Emilie, is completely human. When Leo asked, he was shocked to find out that she isn't actually his birth mother, making her his stepmother of sorts. Leo knew he couldn't tell his friends this, since he knew how vampires were viewed in the magical community, due to history lessons that his aunt and grandmother, and father had briefly told him about.

Leo had met his birth mother, Allisa, on his 11th birthday. She explained to him why she couldn't have seen him till now, and he understood why. Vampires weren't entirely accepted into the magical community, which, to Leo, sucked, since he couldn't see his mother every day. Leo promised he'd write to Allisa when he could, when he was at Hogwarts, since even though he was a dhampiar, he was still accepted into the school.

On May 4th, 2014, a baby boy was born to the Casper family, Leo Casper. His parents, Emilie Casper and David Casper, were grateful to have a baby boy, which meant that Leo would become the heir to the Casper family, a prestigious family full of pureblood witches and wizards and a family full of Slytherins. He has an older sister named Annabeth Casper, who is four years his senior. His father works at the Ministry of Magic as an Auror, while his mother is a librarian at a wizarding library. Still, when she was pregnant with Leo, she left and returned to work once her sister and mother were able to babysit him. Leo was homeschooled till he was 11, which was when he received his Hogwarts letter allowing him to go to Hogwarts. However, Emilie Casper isn't actually his birth mother, and Leo never learnt this until he was eight years old, when his father, David Casper, told him about Leo being a dhampiar, which also meant that someone else was his birth mother, a vampire named Allisa Bloodthorn. When Leo was 11, he was able to meet his birth mother and connect with her, before he went off to Hogwarts, since he was still accepted into the school even though he's a dhampiar. Leo played sports growing up, and he was always an active kid. He enjoyed flying and playing Quidditch, but also enjoyed Muggle sports like volleyball and soccer, and realized he could apply those sports to his skills in Quidditch. Leo enjoyed the arts as well, like drawing, painting, etc. But he was always a studious kid and would hang out with the other kids around his age, regardless of their status, since he didn't care about their status. Leo was always amazed when he saw Diagon Alley, since it was huge! But when he actually went shopping for himself, he was a bit too excited, since he wanted to buy almost everything he saw, but then his sister reminded him to stick to the list. Leo was sad when he had to leave his parents, but he knew he'd be in great hands, since Annabeth always said great things about the staff and everyone at Hogwarts, so he couldn't wait to attend the school.

At the age of five, Leo was making a drawing for his gift to his mother since her birthday was coming up, and he wanted to surprise her. But, as he was drawing a picture of himself and his mom, he got a paper cut. He was about to go and get a Band-Aid when the cut healed. He looked at his finger in confusion, then told his dad and found out he had just gotten his first instance of accidental magic, which means he's a wizard. Leo was super excited, and so was everyone else in the family.

Skye was born a pureblood; Her father is named; Daniel Miller and her mother; Alice Miller.
They were quite known in a nicely way in the magical community and beyond, and they were pretty good parents who cared about their child, showing their love in quality time and sharing experiences as a family. They traveled a lot, changed where they lived a few times as a part of Skye's fathers job ,which caused lack of inconsistent friendship groups for Skye. Her tutor was her parents most of the time and she was homeschooled, making friends in various neighborhoods and places. Her home life was quite inconsistent and unique because of all the traveling.. She was homeschooled and she had a few friends and also acquaintances she mainly got along with pretty well besides a few mean girls that Skye didn't care that much about. Her grades were good enough despite not studying much, she knew she could do better but she wanted to work harder for her time at Hogwarts and its classes instead, as she cared more about proving herself in those areas of life. She was often found to be daydreaming inside her head about her future with magic, sometimes pretending she was making magic with original objects, her parents, especially his mom usually played along with her until it was time to play with some real magical tools. Ever since her father took her to see a quidditch match , she thought about being a quidditch player but is still not totally sure about what she wants to be when she grows up. Only time will tell..

Skye was almost 8 years old, only 2-3 months left. They were traveling yet again. It was a long road from where they have been before to London, England, they decided to camp somewhere in England before they settle in their new home. Sun was going down. Bored by watching her parents cook their dinner Skye decided to go outside the van and sit by the warm fireplace. Then she started singing softly to a song her mother teach her. Not so long after she noticed a surprising yet wonderful thing, the fireplace changed its color from orange red to violet, as if it was changed because of her singing and mood. She called her parents to show it,feeling very excited yet confused. After her parents talked about their opinions it became clear, it wasn't a weird coincidence, it was magic.
