Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw: Match 1

Aida hadn't really fixed the problem of finding it funny when the opponent critically failed their own spell. As a result, she ensured that her mistakes would repeat themselves. Laughing and trying to stop the laughter, Aida's spell flew askew and failed to hit the mark. Yet, once Phaedra's landed, Aida couldn't hold back the laughter any more than when she was under the jinx of a real laughing spell.

Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw: Match 1
Alan just had to mess the spell up, didn't he? just as he felt his body start to freeze up and turn him into practically stone, he felt something wrap around his eyes, blinding him on top of this. There was something about his bad luck that made him think, he would clearly lose the duel. But he would not just give up, no matter how dire the situation seemed at the moment. After all what kind of message would that send? He would go down fighting for victory. The laughter of the opponent, only seemed to be mocking him a bit more. Alan knew there were such things as sore losers but the same applied to winners sometimes too. However he would not care, not really at least. From their perspective their recent lucky streak must be exciting. Alan could somewhat understand her emotions after all. But he would not give up just yet, while he was still standing and able to fight... well soon anyway.

The plan was to speed things up, but the Captain just had to go and backfire his Binding curse. Had this been a real, unmoderated duel, Phaedra would have had no qualms about attacking the boy while he was impaired. But rules were rules. No one said she had to be nice about it though. Uninterested in Alan's struggle to writhe life into his limbs, Phaedra jut out a hip and checked her nails. Oh dear. Is that broken?Doing as strategized (x)

Alan seemed to be struggling quite a bit in breaking out of his binding, although... it was really hard to tell when he couldn't move. Phaedra took this opportunity to heal the Ravenclaw's even more. At what point was it just bad sportsmanship to gloat the opportunity they had to heal? Like they didn't see him as a threat? Alan could have been taken out by now, but it seemed like a deliberate choice not to. Aida took it a step further by summoning a crackling cloud above Alan's head. Willow couldn't help but cringe, and stood up once more. She was supposed to be an impartial judge, but this was just bad taste. While it wasn't technically an attack it was a loophole allowing them to call damage even while he couldn't see. She was conflicted in whether or not she should intervene entirely, her hand resting on her wand in case this duel went too far.

The healing felt good, and Aida's spell went off without a hitch. She had always loved the smell of a storm. It gave her some comfort to know she could bring that pleasing atmosphere almost any time she wanted, though she really would have liked a more direct means of calling down lightning from her own wand. Maybe things were deeply unpleasant for Alan, but Aida was keen to enjoy the final moments of the duel.

There were few options for the Eagles, short of just standing there and looking pretty. While Aida summoned a rain cloud over the incapacitated Vanes, Phaedra healed her team. Again. For the fifth time—not that she was keeping count. By the minute, they would look as if they hadn't been in a duel at all. She scoffed at the ridiculousness of it all, grateful that her wand wasn't the type to rebel out of boredom.Doing as strategized (x)

Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw: Match 1
The fifth year tried to break free from the binding hold, but the paralisis would not let got of him. He would need to fight against it more, or sit out the spell. Why, oh why was he so skilled at powerful spells but clumsy in their execution? He had hit himself twice in a row now and couldn't even see what his opponents were doing. Though he could hear the thunder rumbling above his head, a sign that his luck had turned to worse.

Willow was standing idly by, watching the duel happen when she started to hum a little diddy. "This is... the part where he says he doesn't want it, he's stronger than he's been before. This is... the part where he breaks free." And somehow during the song, probably renewed with strength via Willow's beautiful song, Alan did just that. Though still blindfolded, he was now free to roam about the duelling piste aimlessly. Or stay in one place. It was up to him.
Phaedra continued to heal herself, looking almost better than ever after having the ability to heal for a few rounds. Aida... well... she didn't have much to do. But she did look fantastic chilling on the duelling piste.

Eventually Alan broke free from his self-inflicted binds. Under normal circumstances this would have been bad news, but luck had turned itself around for Ravenclaw. With the girls fully nursed and undeniably at an advantage, it was time to kick things into gear again and walk away victorious. Merlin knows they deserved it. Phaedra knead her wand in anticipation. “Still there, Aida? Let's finish this.”Doing as strategized (x)

Aida was not only dodging, but practicing her dance steps at the same time. Hogwarts very often had balls, and Aida the country bumpkin had never received an education in formal dancing. Now was of course the perfect moment to practice this. Everyone knew that Hogwarts balls usually lead to violence and chaos, so dancing and dodging at the same time naturally became a necessity for students of the academy. If she could practice well enough maybe she would not have to always dance alone.
The voice of Phaedra came then, as Aida was messing about. With a guilty laugh of potentially having been caught in the act, Aida replied cheerfully, "Yes! Let's finish this."
