K so here's the thing with the curly haired guy and why I refuse to believe I have a chance:

My love life is a joke. Mostly because there's no life at all. My first ever crush turned out to be gay and my second ever crush turned out to be deeply in love with my friend, which is understandable cause why would anyone even look at me? I've had chronic acne since I was 9, and trust me, no matter how many doctors or treatments or skincare I use, it NEVER goes away. All my high school, no one ever looked at me if it wasn't to make fun of me or something, so yeah, I got a deep trauma with that because I grew up being the smart one and not the pretty one.

And what if I get my hopes up with him and it turns out to be a fantasy? What if each time we interact my hair looks weird or my pimples are too visible or my breath smells or I'm too ugly? What if he's just playing with me?

At least I'd be happy if that was the case cause he decided to play with ME out of everyone else lol, so yeah, I know by heart there's no chance with him and it's better like that cause I'd rather watch him and not have him that ruining everything cause I don't know how to love someone cause I never learned how to do it.

And now, family, after my sweet trauma dump, I'm gonna go and cry to sleep. Neko says bye, too.

Darling, first of all, you are worth so much more than a boy with curly hair.

Secondly, you say you have no chance, but maybe because of your past experiences you are imposing a barrier on yourself? Boys may like to play, but he could like you. Talk to him, grow closer to a friend. I’m real life, most relationships start through friendship.

Thirdly, I’m facing the same problem as you. The only people who call me pretty are my best friends and my family. The other girls in my class may have called me pretty, but they will usually comment on an item I’m wearing, not me. I’m super insecure about this and a chronic overthinker. Only, I’m Demi-Ace soooo I don’t care about love much. But if I’m being honest, the person who loves you in the end doesn’t do so because of your looks, but because of who you truly are. Beauty comes and goes, but intelligence does not.

Your mind is your greatest asset. If they love you, they value you as a whole. And honestly, if you find no one, then it’s fine. Join the single club. Remember that it takes time. Some people find true love at 35. They are no less valuable than a person who marries at 20. YOUR WORTH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LOVE!!!!

Lastly, be realistic, not pessimistic. Yes, the chances of him being in love with you are low, but not nonexistent. If you grow closer to him, then maybe you’ll find out. Also, he might not even have a crush himself. So give it a chance.
