andrea has been falling behind on [class] after spending the majority of her summer prioritizing defense against the dark arts. she heads to the library to pick a book on the class and runs into your character. your character had been eyeing that exact book for a bit of light reading, so andrea argues that she needs it for her studies. after a short banter, the two students make a deal in which your character tutors andrea on the class they're most skilled in, while andrea tutors them in defense against the dark arts in return.

these tutoring sessions happen every once a week (though no need for different threads for each meeting, unless you'd like) and the two develop a good friendship

andrea quickly rises to the top of her class in defense against the dark arts, except she's not alone. your character is also very skilled in the class. the two are basically having a one on one competition on who gets higher points. insane tension, playful banter, the classic. some might think that the two continue to compete outside of class; they're insanely wrong. most of time, they're pretty awkward and they try to avoid each other as much as possible.

even so, andrea still recognizes the growing rivalry and tries harder. her crush frustration worsens over time, to the point that she actually rants to her parents. this rivalry continues till their later years and the two eventually start getting closer and understanding each other yada yada yada the way this trope usually goes

after being belittled by her relatives due to how spectacularly unremarkable andrea is, she starts isolating herself from others and makes studying her top priority. your character, who's never uttered a single word towards her once, notices and takes initiative to approach the dove first. albeit reluctantly, andrea chats with your character, realizes their similarities/differences, and develops a strong, life-long friendship (slowly, but surely).

Oh but I need to say... You're my cousin, you're my cousin Evander's family and your family have always been at throats due to some age-old fight and misunderstanding. When Evander and your character meet, they actually click. They don't become bestfriends but they become close enough despite all odds.

The way you'd play with me like a child... Evander stumbles into his old babysitter at summer camp. They have a slightly emotional reunion, especially the babysitter, seeing how well they've grown. They stay in touch as pen pals.

But then comes this one student, who was quiet last year and unfocused but locked in this year, and beats him in Herbology - his best subject! He struggles with it and then starts resenting that person when they taunt him after he came second four times in a row.
