Apologies for the delay and on a much more lighter note; If you have any pending homework you've written in drafts, please prioritise submitting ASAP, or wait for the new easier—less than 5 minutes homework.

History of Magic
History of Magic, years 1 and 2, your homework will be updated on 9th June. Please submit all the homework you have pending so your work is not lost.

REMINDER

The first and second lessons in DADA have updated homework as warned back in May.

The last three lessons of first year (3, 4, 5) will be updated JUNE 11TH so this is LAST CALL to get your other first year DADA HW in if you have homework you are working on.

If not I suggest waiting. The new HW will be a bit easier!

POTIONS YEAR TWO

The homework content for Year 2 Potions Class has now been updated to reflect revised OOC expectations. All concerned are advised to review these changes promptly.

Next in line will be the Year 3 curriculum, expect similar standard of review and correction. A formal announcement shall precede the update, along with a clearly defined buffer window during which any student may submit partially completed assignments.

If your work is in progress, remain aware of the forthcoming transition.

CARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES ANNOUNCEMENT

Attention all wonderful Year 3 and 4.

The legendary 5 minutes Care of Magical Creatures homework is now updated and live. Yes, you heard that right. Five minutes, not quite enough time to tame a Bowtruckle and just escape a disgruntled Niffler, eek!

The homework rules have also been half-altered to accommodate our new standards, so your studies on magical creatures is as smooth as a Hippogriff's flight. Pick up your quills and your imagination. Prepare to learn the wonders of these magical creatures.

I eagerly await your submissions—let your homework be as exciting as a dragon's treasure and as neat as a unicorn's mane!

Graduation Reminder

Please make sure by July 1 you are registered with Index and that your trunk is up to date. This serves as the deadline for our transition project as well as when we will start graduating users.

You may notice we have some users joining us that intend to start at Hogwarts as a first year September 1, 2025. A few things to note:

• They are allowed to attend summer activities (summer camp) as a pre-Hogwarts student if they can have it make sense for their student, they just would not know what house they would be sorted into.
• Users can forward date up to 3 months. Meaning, some Hogwarts students will be making threads that take place in the 2025-2026 school year.
• When forward dating, it is expected that members clearly state that their thread is forward dating. When a thread is posted, the default assumption is that the thread is taking place around the day it is posted otherwise.
• Players intending to be a first year on Sept 1, 2025, pay attention to the threads that you enter since you need to attend either forward-dated threads or summer camp threads (if you are participating).

iNPC Creation is Now Reopened!

The iNPC Transition Project is moving onto the next stage—and with it, iNPC creation is once again open to new characters!

You may now create an iNPC if you do not already have one and have been active on your current account for at least 6 months.

Note: If you are not yet eligible but wish to participate in the trunk transition project, please keep an eye on announcements. We will be sharing an update within the next week regarding how we’ll accommodate players in that position.

For Existing iNPC Holders:

All spells have now been transferred to your new iNPC accounts. This was a manual process, so errors are possible. If you notice any spells missing:

• Please reach out to the iNPC Team so we can verify and correct this as soon as possible.
• A formal verification deadline will be announced in the future. It is expected to be a few months from now, but as always—time moves quickly, so please don’t delay.

Minor Mention: ADULTS

You have gotten an owl from me recently. If you do not tend to look at your owls, you should take a look.

Why? Well, that's a mystery.

iNPC Sub-Accounts

Signatures

Just a reminder for those who have already created an iNPC sub-account, please include your iNPC’s full account name in your PC’s signature and your PC’s full account name in your iNPC’s signature.

To update your signature, click on this link or follow the steps below:

1. Hover over your profile picture in the upper right-hand corner.
2. Click Profile then Edit Profile
3. Hover over the dropdown that has character, and click signature.
4. Edit your signature, and remember to click Submit! Otherwise your signature won't save.

Sub-Account Creation

For those who haven’t created their already approved iNPC’s sub-account or are eligible to create an iNPC now (indexed and been on their current PC for 6 months), below are the steps to create your iNPC’s sub-account:

1. Post in the iNPC Sub-account creation thread with the short application form and wait for your application to be approved.

2. Once approved, proceed to create your account.

Your character’s biography should include the form from Step 1.

You should also include information on your character, such as their personality, background and first instance of magic. You will need at least 220 words to enter the validation queue.

Note: You will not be able to use any emails previously used on HiO.

3. Your account will go through the validation process

4. Once you have been validated, you will enter the sorting ceremony. Please complete it but do not enter any common room areas, this access is temporary and unintentional.

5. If you already have an iNPC, post in your school’s registration thread with the longer application form (step 6) from the iNPC Sub-Account creation thread.

If your iNPC is new, please apply with the application form that is in your iNPC school’s registration thread.

6. After the above steps, an admin will make the necessary changes to your account and the potions/spells you listed in step 5. If your iNPC is new, the iNPC team will review your application within two weeks.
