xxEven luck ran out eventually. Maggie was in for the blatch, flying right up at Shubhangi's side, when she was noticed. In a desperate attempt to evade capture, she started for the cloud layer. Such was life. She heard her name being called out through the megaphone, telling her to take a penalty lap. "I didn't even touch anyone!" she groaned, but she turned her broomstick to complete the lap. Stupid refs.

TTo her surprise, it was just her with the open-sky advantage. She attempted to score her fellow cobras some points, which to her elation and relief, Remedy was mostly successful after taking a bit of a bruising. Thank Lear’s Beard for Ulysses taking some time to teach her some moves.

This was going to be simple so simple. If she could just keep her head clear and her eye on the game she felt like they could still win this no matter what.

After he penalty lap Kora went back to her position calmly clearing her mind getting ready to focus on what she knew she had to do. The game plan was set and easy to follow something she liked about her team it was always affective and simple easy for her to understand if it wasn’t she might not have lasted this long on the team.

Debuffs

Avery decided to try her hand at fouling and flew at Dan, attempting to blag him by seizing the tail of his broom, but Oliver and Mellani's two-headed snake appeared in front of him as if by magic. This managed to disorient the Gryffindor just enough that she missed, but luckily had enough of her wits about her to fly away before the ref noticed!

"Did anyone see Gray over by Armani and Miller? I swear she was just there, but she's gone... all right, anyway, back to actual actions!"

Second-String Actions

The second-strings, first in our hearts, screamed out for or against their favourite or least favourite players. Though Gryffindor often gets a good rep and Slytherin a bad rap, it was clear that for this match, at least, those roles were reversed (and maybe even were simply based off of stereotypes in the first place... cough cough). The seated Slytherins shouted positive encouragement - Charlotte for Oliver, Aamon for Mellani, and Violeta for Dan - while a loud Dan-centric boo emerged from Nicholas's area of the Gryffindor bench.

The world turned upside down... but Mellani and Oliver seemed bolstered by their Housemates' cheers, at least!

The Quaffle

No one likes the Quaffle.

"I know we've lost a lot of players, but I hope folks remember in future matches that the Quaffle can score points, too! It's not all about the Snitch, you know..."

The Snitch

The Snitch's push-ups were finally interrupted as Dan dove after it, sparking cheers and boos from the crowd as well as the bench; it seemed that he'd finally had enough of a wild-Snitch chase and was finally going to try to grab the gold. "And Palmer is after the Snitch! He reaches out a hand and - oh, he's done it! In his final match as a Slytherin student, the seventh-year Seeker has snatched the Snitch! Superbly done! Absolute artistry! Yes, give him your boos, he feeds upon your hatred. You know what that means, ladies, gents, and non-binary friends - Slytherin takes the game!"

The Bludgers

Despite Dan's catch, it wasn't over yet. A rogue bludger was on the lookout for a Gryffindor student to smack, and for the second time in a row, its intended target managed to dodge out of its way only to meet their demise at the hands of a Slytherin. Shubhangi's easy dodge out of the rogue's way was nothing short of simple, or at least that's how it looked from below. Percival, however, was on the hunt for some lion blood before the last match of his sixth year came to a close. "Rainwood! Rainwood, the match is over!" the announcer cried, but it was too late; Percival's mighty smack of bat against ball had sent Meyra off the deep end, literally. Of her broom, that is. "Ooh, and Lancaster is down for the count. At least the broom didn't break, but yikes, that looked like it hurt!"

The ricochet bounced towards a familiar target next, having ricocheted off of Meyra's falling body and found a new Gryffindor to smack. Shubhangi had evaded the rogue Bludger with all the grace of a ballet dancer, but now she found herself on the business end of Percival's ricochet missile instead. "Oh, and it's after Kanjilal too! She tries to dodge, but she can't get rid of this one. She too has fallen! At least they went out together, no?"

KOB Fouls

"Well, it's not worth doing any fouls to try to change the ending of this match - it's clear, Slytherin has taken the win! Both teams, come on down to the pitch to rest and get some time off. You all deserve it!... and maybe a trip to the Hospital Wing for several of you..."

Outcome

• Avery Gray fails to blag anyone, but isn't caught, at least.
• Charlotte Winfield successfully cheers Oliver Armani. Aamon Athanatos successfully cheers Mellani Miller. Violeta Roux successfully cheers Dan Palmer, but then Nicholas McCowan successfully boos him, too.
• Shubhangi Kanjilal avoids a rogue Bludger.
• Percival Rainwood Bludgers Meyra Lancaster and ricochets to Shubhangi Kanjilal. Both girls are KOB.
• Dan Palmer catches the Snitch!
