So I actually had Reena in mind as someone from that school, but she became my main character. Also I was quite shocked to see the lore on this site for that school.

Second string players are only for when first string players get hurt IC.
All you really need for a full team is a full roster of first string players.
But yes, even if you don't have a full first string team, you can still take part in games.
I believe Lear said they just fill the remaining spots with npcs.
