It would likely be possible, but you should double-check and organise with him to be sure.Cassie Jiang wrote: 1 May 2026, 03:55 hi! I wonder if it is allowed to set up a small cabin in the grounds or somewhere which serves as the 'base' of a club! Thank you![]()

Regarding Ophelia's question, if I want to RP reading one of them on my pc, do I need the author's permission, or is mentioning that it's by them enough?

FAQ — Questions
So, the immediate family would know that their partner/child has magic, and that's fine. But the extended family(aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc.) of the muggle likely wouldn't be included since there are ways to limit exposure of magic to them.Kennedy Cheek wrote: 1 May 2026, 03:00 Thank you!
Edit: Sorry I have another question.
Regarding the rule saying wizards/witches aren't allowed to do magic in the presence of a muggle, does that apply to muggles who are married to a witch and have magical kids who know about magic?
Also to confirm, are kids allowed to do magic at home? I know in the books Harry isn't really supposed to, but Harry also lived with his fully muggle family, so I didn't know if wizard families had the rules slightly different?
So the issue with Harry was as you said the trace picked up on magic in the area, and he was the only wizard around. It wouldn't be inconceivable for someone who lives in a pureblood/wizardborn home to do magic and get away without being caught for doing underaged magic as it would be hard to point to who did the magic.

Yes. Make sure that you either mention the author in your post saying that the book is from them or owl them to make sure they're okay with you mentioning the book. (I know for my book I require people to mention me if they want to use it in a thread.Emmeline Harris wrote: 1 May 2026, 12:28 Regarding Ophelia's question, if I want to RP reading one of them on my pc, do I need the author's permission, or is mentioning that it's by them enough?

FAQ — Questions
It’s stated in the books that magical children, no matter blood status, cannot perform magic outside of school until they graduate. This can only be done in self defense or a life threatening emergency. I do think there was a loophole to this somewhere, but I can’t think of it right nowKennedy Cheek wrote: 1 May 2026, 03:00 Thank you!

"But magic is neither good nor evil. It is a tool, like a knife. Is a knife evil? Only if the wielder is evil."

We don’t completely follow the books and as stated above, if you live in a pureblood family the trace is harder to track to you because anyone in your family could have performed the magic.Cassandra Tarot wrote: 1 May 2026, 19:33It’s stated in the books that magical children, no matter blood status, cannot perform magic outside of school until they graduate.
