Sébastien knew he was ahead of most of the other players. He had seen another teammate of his around the same area as him as well as a rival player. The odds of them winning was looking up and was more in favour of his team. However, he still made sure to not get his hopes up just in case as anything could happen. The whole race could turn around.

He squinted his eyes and made sure tofocus on the race. To not let his emotions take over him. Berry was going to be fine whether or not he lost or won. But deep down he knew he would be crushed if they lost the race after last year's victorious win.

Chiaki narrowed her eyes, pushing forwards as fast as she could. She soared through the empty fields, trying to gain on the fliers ahead and overtake anyone she was level with. However, the plain sailing wouldn't last long as she flew straight into thorns. They pricked at her skin as she cursed repeatedly, trying to get past faster to get out of the pain. In the rush, she didn't see the thick vines growing and soon found herself entangled. She let out a string of Japanese curses she never usually would as they wrapped around her and she struggled against them.

He was flying onward smoothly by then, if you didn’t mention some opponent boy that swooped in trying to blatch him which he spotted and dodged at the last second. Satisfied by the result, Maxi continued to move forward in full speed. Just a brief interlude, he didn’t pay much attention to that. What he didn’t notice were the vines, the latter trapping him in when he turned around a corner. Effortlessly trying to get rid of it for some time, Maxi hung his head and groaned under his breath in frustration.

Enzo’s face scrunched up slightly as he felt the side of the dark cave graze the side of his leg. He made small grimace at the sensation but did not stop to think about it for long as he knew he was fast approaching the rest of the racers, and was quite determined - to say the least to not - to fall behind once more.

Cielle raced ahead, and for a moment was entangled in vines, although she was glad when she broke free and was able to race ahead. She grimaced at the thorns, trying to ignore the cuts on her legs. Sometimes she questioned why she liked doing this sport honestly, and this was one of those times. Things only got worse when she somehow managed to hit all the trees in her way. Yet the trapeze artist raced on, a little dizzy but still going strong for now.

DURMSTRANG VS MAHOUBATON

Round Four

Durmstrang was continuing to be unrelenting, with attempted blatches and spells to knock one off a broom, all in the hopes of making it to the finish line first. Racers were getting close to the end now, but it was definitely still anyone's race.

Unit Four

We begin here, where Coraline would wake from her unmoving spell, and would rush onward as quickly as she could, perhaps hoping to be of some help to the racers up in front.

Unit Five

Rushing onward, Coraline would enter the smaller section of the cave.

Coraline seemed to have little trouble with this section of the passageway, managing to make it through without a scratch.

Unit Six

The cave would open back up, and surely now Coraline would catch a glimpse of the sky up ahead.

Perhaps excitement over seeing the cave opening is what caused Coraline to scrape against the side of the cave wall, that would have to hurt.

Unit Seven

Open fields made for much easier racing, but of course it would be here that Coraline would slow, possibly seeing the back of Enzo pushing onward up ahead of her.

Enzo would fly solo here, clean sailing through the open sky.

Unit Nine

Enzo would catch up with Kheanu, who had finally taken a break from spell casting to catch up with the rest of the group. Onward the two would go together.

A third racer, Mikael would join the duo, all three making way through the open landscape.

It was here that the onslaught of environmental obstacles would begin once again, hopefully this trio was prepared.

It seems our racers were prepared, and they made it through the thorn patch with relative ease. The three would now become four, with Henrik joining in.

The racers that were catching up might now be surprised at the gaggle of racers, both friend and foe, that were now snared by the particularly wild vines. Hopefully they wouldn't succumb to the same fate.

It was quite the toss up as to who was able to make it through the vines. One Durmstrang and one Beauxbaton managed to avoid it entirely, and the two remaining Durmstrangs became ensnared, but both quickly managed to break out. Only one from the prior round managed to free themselves, leaving the four others behind. Meanwhile, on the ground, Angélique was getting back onto her broom, attempting to continue the race once again.

A few spells would also take place in this unit, a one ending up much more successful than the others.

Kheanu ends in unit 14, and is therefore out of range.

Mikael casts Diffindo at the Vines in Unit 12.

Yefia casts Scourgify at Mikael

Chiaki wanted to cast at Kheanu, probably hoping he would be caught in the vines. However he passed with no issue, and was simply too far away when she attempted the cast.

Yefia and Mikael would attempt to cast some more helpful spells, Yefia failing to cast the spell whatsoever, their wand sputtering to no effect. Mikael, on the other hand, cast one of the most perfect Diffindo's anyone had ever seen, and it seemed to slash even more vines. Surly that would make things easier next round.

Nichlas Forsberg, Yefia (Sofia Koskinen and Yefim Rumyantsev), Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin and Chiaki Hiroi were not able to pass the strength check, and start and end the round here.

Unit Thirteen

Yet again there would be three, all of them zooming quickly past the Whomping Willow in order to avoid getting hit.

Unit Fourteen

It was yet again time for even more thorns, these ones being much more numerous and sharp than the last.

These thorns were quite nasty, although Kheanu would make it out without much difficulty.

This is where Maximilien would slow down, two targets in mind for a spell spread Ascension Spell. He would slow, and aim his wand behind him, back where both of them were still trapped in the vines.

Despite both Nichlas and Yefia being entangled in the vines, Maximilien just wasn't able to hit either of them. Nichlas seemed to almost sense it was coming, and managed to wriggle out of the way.

Unit Fifteen

Just one lone racer would enter the heavily forested area in the hopes of catching up with the three in front.

Near-Impossible Trees - DC 27

Henrik really couldn't handle the trees, and he managed to run headfirst into each one. It was here that our three in the lead would begin, Sébastien opting to forego any track progress to help swing Raphael up into the lead.

Unit Sixteen

Another grouping of vines would stand between our players and the finish, although these are significantly easier to pass than the prior.

Unit Seventeen - Twenty

It was just Cielle and Raphael, zooming through open fields. All the two could hear would be the wind wipping alongside them. Slowly, Cielle would slow, ending in unit 20, watching Raphael maintain his momentum from the earlier Alley Oop.

Twenty-One

It was just Raphael and the open fields now, surely he would start to feel victorious. But perhaps not quite yet, there were still a few obstacles to go.

Twenty-Two

The winds in this unit would begin to pick up, although they were still fairly light, surely no issue for Raphael.

Of course, it was no issue indeed, and Raphael would now take the lead. While all may seem lost for Durmstrang, there was still one more obstacle in the way of Raphael and the win, who knows what could happen?

Maxi didn’t regard himself as super physically strong, but he did use all his might to try to break free from the cursed vines. To his surprise - he didn’t expect this to succeed just once, and he had even considered to use some spell - he made his way out of the vines and continued his voyage. Racing forward some units, he slowed down and wielded his wand back at two - oops, three, two were co-riding - Durmstrang folks still trapped in vines. His choice was simple - Ascension spell, ready to split. It was truly disappointing that both spell did not hit the target, and Maxi shrugged at himself, a bit upset about the result.
