Castelobruxo NPC
Name: Ethan Ramond Van-Rensselaer
School: Castelobruxo
Year: 2nd
Status: Pureblood
Appearance: Ethan has medium-length black hair with green eyes; he is a near copy of his father; much to the displeasure of his mother. His hair was always brushed, something he made sure of, even sneaking to the restroom to comb it down. He tried to keep his outfits perfect; even the one he was forced to wear during his classes.
Personality: Ethan was a quiet kid, though in his mind he was thinking a mile a minute. He was used to either having his friends to fill the void with their own chatter or the silence of his home and his grandparents. Ethan spent a lot of time in the library and always brought a smile to his own face remembering facts about spells when in class; much to the confusion of others who couldn’t figure out what about learning would make him happy.
History:ReducioEthan was a pureblood made of two purebloods that came from different parts of the world; his father was born in France though he was moved to Brazil at an early age, while his mother made her home in America until she was in her early twenties. She was sent to further her education and instead settled with Ethan’s father soon after she moved. Ethan’s father was sent away from his home soon after the last war, their desperate attempt to keep an heir just in case things didn’t go as planned, he was raised there instead of returning, the French purebloods moving as soon as they could.
The two married quickly, a sloppy wedding made from ideas coming together between two young adults driven by hormones and fire whiskey. It was only 6 months after their quick marriage that Ethan was born, and only a year after that to let both adults know that they didn’t want to remain together, but for their son they would. Ethan grew up in a home full of dead dreams. His mother wished to continue her education but how was she when she had a child to take care of? His father tried to bold with him, but he was just a businessman and unless he was talking to his son about his work, he didn’t know what to speak about.
Ethan learned mostly from his books. His father was raised going through the Castelobruxo school, and even after his mother tried to get him to do his schooling through the American school system (sending him to his grandparents before he was sent back after his first year), he was soon enrolled like his father.
Ethan switched over to Castelobruxo because of a disagreement between his parents more than anything. His mother wanted him to stay in America, going through the same halls she did; though his father wanted him to have the same upbringing as the wizards he would one day work with; hoping he would stay living in his parents' manor well into his adult years.
First Magic: Ethan’s first act of magic was small, much to the sadness of his father. Where his father was hoping for something big, to showcase magical excellence, Ethan’s magic first showed itself when he closed a curtain while sitting on an armchair far away from it. He had just wanted the sun out of his eye as he was reading, he even thanked his dad for moving it for him, unaware of what he had done.

ReducioEthan was a perfectionist more in the need to have something to showcase to his mother than anything more. He felt the need to show her that he was worth the time she took raising him, that her time wasn’t wasted as she sat at the house instead of in a classroom herself. He worked restlessly to perfect the spells he was taught for each of their fire calls when he was away in America, and when he came back home, he would tell her all about how hard he was working in school; convincing her to quiz him through the summer leading up to his second year. He liked the small smiles she would have when he got the questions right; though the frowns when he got them wrong would leave the feeling of a rock in his stomach even after they were done, even if she tried to hide them from him. Nights after those calls were spent studying until he fell asleep in the common room, his friends finding him there and helping him get ready for the day ahead of him, even as he yawned telling them he was fine.
The pureblood’s studying was time-consuming, to say the least, he spent hours alone just pouring over book after book about each spell. It was fun to learn the history of the spells they use every day, and he would even get lost in text reading many times while studying. His few American friends would usually sit by him as he read, talking to each other as they waited for him to pop his head up and tell them another interesting fact about the spells they didn’t think two thoughts about after class.
Ethan had plenty of practice with the spells too, dueling with his friends as they prepped to duel for their school. Ethan decided to forgo the team, too scared to be hit just yet as he knew that he needed for than a year to be comfortable in front of someone’s wand who wasn’t just playing with him. He was getting good at his aim, even making a game of it with his friends as they raced around shooting spells at each other; he thought he might even be good enough to join the team here at his new school… maybe... Overall, between his self-study and the games he played with his friends, he figured he was above average with his casting skills.

- Where does Ethan live? At this moment I am unable to tell where in the world Ethan lives. To attend Castelobruxo he must live in North America, Central America, South America, or the Caribbean.

Soraia does everything she can to academically set herself apart from her peers. Her competition is her father. He's not a well-known magician or anyone of international importance. He's a smart, well-meaning, and capable man but the average Ministry worker. But to Soraia, he's an unspoken genius. She measures herself against his skill, determined to make him proud. He was also a Castelo student and in his youth was well known for his skill and dedication. It's almost a silent competition between the two. Her father, amused but proud, acknowledges it, but for Soraia, it's a goal. She dreams of mastering every spell she encounters and puts the work in for it. She studies and practices relentlessly -- amazed every time she can do what most muggles consider 'impossible'. She can do any movement perfectly with her eyes closed. Careful, practiced movements. She can utter any incantation in her sleep. She can list every ingredient for a potion. She can speak four languages. The drive to better herself influences everything she does.
This pursuit of perfection drives her to study and practice constantly. There is no limit to what she wants to achieve even as a fifth-year student. The allure of nonverbal magic captivates her imagination and it's remained a goal to complete through her studies. To Soraia, the ability to cast spells without words represents the start of success. It is more than just a skill; it's a testament to her hard work. It isn't the end -- no, it's the beginning of honing her craft. She sees herself performing intricate spells with a mere flick of her wrist, showcasing her understanding of magic. This pursuit of perfection has become something of her compass, guiding her through every challenge and setback. Soraia knows that each spell mastered brings her one step closer to her father’s legacy and it only fuels her desire to exceed. As she practices, she envisions not only the pride in his eyes but also the quiet satisfaction of knowing she has forged her own identity as a witch
Soraia’s perfectionism often pushes her to set high standards for herself. She believes that mastery is the only acceptable outcome. In the bustling halls of Castelobruxo, Soraia often feels the weight of her expectations so she spends a lot of time trying to channel her energy into a positive outcome. It isn’t just about achieving flawless results; it's also about her own personal growth that comes with each spell cast.

Soraia embodies sunshine -- radiating warmth and optimism whenever possible. She's always been a joy to have around since she was a kid. Her joie de vivre -- as her mother calls it -- contagious to all. As she grew, she had a knack for bringing her family together. Her birth was a constant celebration in and of itself! Whether it was encouraging her grandmother to dance or rallying Castelo friends for a group project, Soraia is all about unity and self-pride. This natural affinity for connecting with other people has helped shape her as a growing girl but also as a witch. The desire to turn her charm and positivity into something that she can wield is strong.
In this world, Soraia understands that being a talented witch requires more than skills in spells and potions. To her, being a good witch takes having a good head on your shoulders and being able to solve issues without her magic. It's why she prefers to take a diplomatic approach to many situations. She would much rather be responsible for people connecting than all-out battle but make no mistake...Soraia walks a fine line. She won't allow or encourage disrespect. She can lead to compromise or she can lead to rebellion.
As much as she loves the gift of being a magical being, Soraia believes with all her heart that the true magic lies in the bonds people create with one another. It's why she takes such care in reaching out to meet someone on their terms. She loves learning about her counterparts. Although she gives Hogwarts a little heat for their 'drab weather and even more drab ability to party' -- she fully throws herself into understanding the school and its students. It's entertaining to her.
Soraia’s obsession with getting things right doesn't end at school work. It fuels her desire and ability to connect to other people. She often puts immense pressure on herself to excel academically and socially. She believes she can not only bolster her confidence but also create a ripple effect that encourages those around her. For Soraia, being a good witch can translate to being a good leader. She believes that a true leader is someone who brings out the best in others and Soraia wants to be that kind of light for the people she chooses to surround herself with. Transforming her relationships into powerful networks of support and encouragement is yet another thing she considers an asset.
Soraia's sunny and friendly nature reveals a desire for more in her life. She uses her mind, her friends, and her ability to empathize in her everyday life. It helps her overcome obstacles and even contributes to her journey to becoming a skilled witch. It's as much about enchanting spells as it is about enchanting hearts.

Reduciothere are a few things that soraia takes seriously: her mother when she calls her full name, carnival, and her duties as a witch. she grew up surrounded by magic, surrounded by people who could effortlessly perform wonders. her father especially. she would dream about the day she got to begin her journey. when that gorgeous peach-faced lovebird flew to the sampaio home at the start of carnival -- that was when it all began. everything was a whirlwind at that point but one thing she was sure of -- she couldn't wait to get a wand. when she finally did, it was the greatest day of her life. she spent hours practicing movements with absolute fascination.
even during her first year -- when she knew maybe one or two spells, soraia would obsessively practice them over and over. pronunciation, spell effects, movement. repeat. with every spell she would go on to learn, soraia took her time. she perfected it. every single time she did well or got praise, soraia felt immense pride in herself. over the next few years, it became her process. her study until perfected method increased her productivity. she went from spelling a week obsessing over every move, every flick of her wrist, and every syllable of the spell to...mere days. practice more than made perfect. it wasn't as if she had some kind of pressure from home that was making her hold herself to such a high standard. her parents aren't obsessed with grades or owls. it is pressure from within.
when her father was a student at castelobruxo, he was a prodigal student. he was advanced and well-learned in fundamental subjects as well as superior ones. (in other words, he was a nerd.) he enjoyed the challenge of his courses but he would never hold his daughter to the same standards. and her mother? she's a bold, creative spirit that attended beauxbatons for part of her formal years but education was not her forte. if the family had stuck around france? it was likely that she wouldn't have graduated at all.
no, her parents don't pressure or demand. she's harder on herself than anyone else could ever be. it is because she believes that magic is beautiful. it's wonderful. even at thirteen, there is a respect for the wizarding arts that she doesn't think many of her peers have. besides her respect for magic, she's a duellist. yet another way for her to sharpen and hone her skills as a witch. soraia isn't an overly serious girl. she likes to laugh, frolic, and joke just like other teenagers but when it comes to her education? she's as serious and driven as can be.

Reduciosoraia has always been a girl prone to bouts of curiosity. she can't exactly help it, the unknown fascinates her. (she's what her grandmother likes to call nosy.) growing up, she got an up close and personal look at the wizarding world and the muggle world. they were duel entities in her life.
her mother, jolie, loves muggle culture and lived a life without magic before the young girl was even born. jolie made the decision to live without magic in her early adulthood. she became a prima ballerina in france, living among muggles -- and only changed her mind when she decided to join the love of her life in brazil. despite reentering the magic world (and resuming practicing magic), jolie still enjoyed aspects of the muggle world. soraia became like a sponge, soaking up information passed informally to her. musical acts, songs, and muggle world history. she also learned english and french right along with her portuguese, her native language, as a child. her father was just the same as her mother when it came to sharing his love of the wizarding world. joão has worked in the department for the regulation and control of magical creatures for almost as long as soraia has been alive. her father's love and care for different cultures and species' besides his own were not lost on his child. she adapted his behavior, approaching those who are different -- and learn differently -- with kindness.
as a child, soraia would sometimes go to work with her father. it was very rare but she'd sit in his office, swing her little feet, and listen to him on the phone or eavesdrop on meetings. trolls, elves, goblin. all beings she learned about before she even knew about santa claus. she learned bits and pieces of different languages sitting at her father's feet. he would go on to teach her words. he couldn't speak many languages fluently himself but he enjoyed sharing those little learning moments with his child. she learned phrases in troll and learned that mermaids have their own special language that they can speak and understand through the water. her father's affiliates with creatures didn't end at work. he would often befriend them. it's how she learned veela -- through a friend of her father's, a young man who worked in the same department.
he became close to the family and over the years, began informally teaching soraia a fourth language. as she did with english and french, she picked it up fairly easily and with enthusiasm. veela was beautiful to her and she was grateful to learn as much as she could. not just the language but the history, the life story of the people who created a language she deeply admired. present day, she still maintains respect for different creatures and cultures. she even keeps her veela skills fresh by practicing the language in her spare moments and constantly researching to remain up to date.
spell spreadWC: 452
Reduciogo big or go home. is that what the americans say? well, soraia has no intention of doing anything besides going big. according to the standards that she holds herself to? there's no other option for her. it matches her boisterous personality. her bright, boundless energy demands that she use it for something and most of the time, it's for magic. soraia can be described as an intense devotee to learning as much as she can and is constantly on the go. she studies and practices spells like nothing anyone has ever seen. sometimes, she even mutters incantations in her sleep -- it's serious for her. and that's why she doesn't ever want to limit herself.
after seeing a spell being spread during a duel, it became yet another primary goal for her to achieve during her third year. often times, soraia knows a spell like the back of her hand. she could utter it while sleepwalking, she could do the movement required with a fraction of detail and still nail it. she even does research when a spell does have multiple uses. for her, it was very easy to dive into the curiosity about an ability that wasn't on her radar until she saw it perform. with soraia, there is always the idea -- the question of what happens if you push just a little bit further.
spell spreading became almost an obsession. when she achieves one goal, there's always another put in it's place. there is no limit for soraia. she saw it and she wanted to do it as well. the power, the boldness. it fascinated her on a level that spells often do. just is her routine, she spent weeks practicing. when she finally made an attempt, it backfired. she spent a few hours in the infirmary trying to make up a good lie to cover the fact that she'd been practicing a tricky thing without supervision. the hit to her pride hurt way more than a bump to the head did.
soraia took another roll of the dice -- and decided to give it another try. what she couldn't replicate with her physical and verbal commands, soraia did her best to learn. she poured over books, rearming herself with information and testimonies from other wizards and witches. it wasn't just a handy trick that she knew she'd be able to pull out during any competition, it was the physical representation of her magic being precise and unrestrained. the next time she attempted the spell spread with the immobulus spell, you could hear her scream of absolute joy -- at the fact that she succeeded. just as she always trained herself to do.

Castelobruxo NPC
Name: Matías Peña Rojas
School: Castelobruxo
Year: Y2
Status: Wizardborn
Appearance: His faceclaim is John Leguizamo, especially as Luigi from that old Mario movie. However, he looks like he is 12-13, not a young adult like in the pictures; imagine John Leguizamo’s features, but on a young teenager.
Reducio
Personality: Matti is quite the jock, but he also has a mind for logic. His intellectual expertise leans toward handiness.
Matti's just a humble guy. He’d be the type of guy to walk by and offer to fix your car for you (you’ll see below that he does indeed know what cars are), without you having to ask or offering him any reward.
He’s a ladies’ man, aided by his genuinely handsome features and visibly kind nature. Since he is still so young, he’s in his awkward teenage phase, so his flirting is more of an awkward, endearing type than anything to truly write home about. Still, he likes to get the girls. If he has a genuine crush on a girl who really loves him and who he really loves, that’s when: he won’t flirt, when he finally does flirt will be even more awkward, and he would probably rather run and hide away from her forever. (He would need a wingman to bridge the gap.)
He, quite secretly, dabbles in gender nonconformity.
As for his Seer abilities, they genuinely frighten him. He is scared of, and dreads, the day he begins to have visions, and of not being able to properly have control over them. He doesn’t want to be plagued by something so embarrassing, and potentially dangerous, like if it happens to him in a moment he needs to be paying attention to for his or others’ safety. He doesn’t want it to take over his life. He comes from a Colombian household, which, like many Colombian households, puts a lot of pressure on him to be successful. He doesn’t care as much about success as many others, but he does care in the sense of making his family happy and proud. He knows being a Seer means added pressure to be successful in the role of a Seer, but he doesn’t want to spend his life being a Seer.
He has been hiding it from school thus-far successfully, because he is not old enough to have visions yet, so he honestly just uses his Intuition ability to avoid additional problems for himself. It has actually been very helpful. For example, sometimes other boys want to start fights with him, and he can sense them coming without even looking at them and dodge quickly out of the way. He uses it for that sort of thing. Again, it’s the visions and expectations put upon him down the line he’s really afraid of. Matti, usually a down-to-earth and loyal guy, is prone to melancholy and seclusion when thinking about, and discussing, being a Seer. Despite its couple of perks like his Intuition, he, overall, sees it as a curse, not as a blessing.
Although Matti is more street smart than he is academically smart, he isn’t the worst academically, because he has a good, general intelligence in most subjects. Additionally, coming from a Colombian household, he was always expected to perform well academically. His hard-working attitude, which stems from the impossible expectations put upon him by his family members, makes him perform better in school than he otherwise would.
Matti grew up fairly rich, so, although he’s mostly humble and down-to-earth, he does occasionally display signs of being a rich boy.
Matti may like (not in an attraction sense, but that, too) women more than men! Men are often mean, and he is very mild-mannered next to many of them. He honestly thinks a lot of men are raised to be awful, and he doesn’t like them. However, he has a strong sense of his own, generally non-toxic manhood. He thinks more men should be like himself (it’s probably one of his more arrogant thoughts, but it’s, objectively, a correct one).
History: Matías Diego Peña Rojas is his full name. His father, raised under strict Colombian culture, used to be rigid in dating Purebloods like himself, mostly just to appease his cruel family, until he fell in love with a Half-Blooded woman. She seemed to be the first person who cared about him beyond wanting to tie the knot between families, and that’s when Matti’s father realized he didn’t genuinely care about tradition, he just wanted real love. Matti’s mother, also Colombian, was more used to breaking traditions, because she was already a bit of a disgrace due to being a Half-Blood. Against all odds, Matti’s father rebelled against the status quo and chose her. The couple happily eloped. Together, they had Matti’s two older twin sisters, and then, about ten years later, Matti himself.
The beautiful story came to a tragic end when Matti’s mother, shortly after his birth, fell ill to a rare disease. Regrettably, even being looked after by the finest magical doctors, she didn't make it.
Matti’s father chose a Muggleborn next. After twenty-odd years with his previous partner, his family’s pressure for him to be a blood supremacist meant nothing to him. He’d disowned his family a long time ago at this point. Yet again, the woman his father chose was an angel. Matti’s father and (non-biological) mother were, generally, healthy parental figures in his life, besides their extreme pressure on him to succeed due to their remaining, prideful cultural instincts. They taught him how to be a real man, and not to have toxic masculinity. His older sisters lived close by and were in his life a lot, as his family upheld this particular cultural tradition, they, too, valuing family. His sisters and mother, as well as his grandmothers (his father’s mothers, his biological mother’s mothers, and his mother’s mothers–he has many grandparents) were constantly challenging him to respect them and all women, and through these lessons, taught him to value the women in his life.
Because Matti’s mother, the one who raised him, was a Muggleborn, Matti dabbled in Muggle culture through his grandparents and, occasionally, through her. Although Matti knows more about the magical world, he took up an interest in cars and mechanics, so he knows how to fix cars and wants to drive a car one day.
Matti grew up fairly rich, coming from a Pureblooded father. When his father disowned his family, it was before they could disown him first, so he managed to secure a number of stable assets. Besides, his father has a high-paying (though low in rank) job as a magical lawyer.
Matti got his schooling from a magical private school. He learned to be proper there, so he can pull it off when he needs to, but, again, other than a couple of rich boy tendencies, he’s quite down-to-earth for someone who grew up rich, because of his parents having given him a chill upbringing, featuring many, very Colombian lessons in respect and family values.
First Magic: Matti was 5. He was watching his Muggle grandparents (his non-biological mother’s parents) replace a car engine. Both the elderly woman and man were the handy type, and, over the years, they taught him much of what he knows today about handiness, mechanics, and vehicles. (This was one early instance, before he was able to properly learn, that secured his interest in these things.) They were juuuust replacing the engine, when it suddenly burst, but there were the tiiiiniest little sparks flying out of it where they should not have been, because that part of the engine was entirely covered by metal. His grandparents still don’t understand what happened, and because of this accident, his parents were forced to have him around his poor, sweet grandparents less for a few years, just until he got some basic sense of control over magic in order to protect their family's magical identity.

Special Race/Ability: Seer!
Matti’s father is a Pureblooded wizard, with a family history of Seers (although it’s skipped a few generations). His biological, Half-Blooded mother also had a (more backdated) family history of Seers on her father’s Pureblooded side.
Matti was 8. He felt a candle whizz toward the back of his head. Wait…"felt?" He knew he didn’t see it in his peripheral (he has poor peripheral vision)...What just happened? He didn’t think on it long, though. He swiftly turned on his heel, and realized the other jocks at the school, away from instructors to keep them acting proper and traditional, were snickering, and using magic they weren’t supposed to be using to throw lit candles at him! Tearing up in shock and confusion, scared for his life and deeply disturbed that these boys hated him so much they were willing to risk setting him on fire, he did the only thing he could think to do in a timely fashion: He yelled.
The teacher ran over, and the boys got in very big trouble.
Matti couldn’t stop pondering about it later, not only about how awful those boys had been, making him question what other children’s upbringings were like, but also, how he had managed to notice the candle coming at nearly the back of his head. It didn’t make sense to him, and, as a very logical kid, it distressed him to not know.
He curiously went to his dad later that day, who was sitting in a rocking-chair at the family's small mansion's patio, where he promptly sat on his lap, and asked him about it.
His father’s face lit up. “Son, you’re a Seer! This is huge! Congratulations!"
Matti didn’t know why his father wasn’t more concerned about it, only excited. It was like he could only see positives in this, no negatives. But, Matti would soon find out that it didn’t matter what he felt about being a Seer, which was utter devastation, just that being a Seer could help the success of the family. He, perhaps justly, had a couple of thoughts about that: What do you mean he wouldn’t have a normal life? Would be severely pressured into taking up a job that used his powers? Would possibly be plagued by random visions one day? Would grow white-haired prematurely? Wasn’t ever told that being a Seer ran in his genes, until that day when it was convenient to tell him?
What do you mean he was too young to be told about it, until it happened to affect him?
Matti was devastated, and, he realized, no one seemed to notice all that much about how he felt about it.
Still, he tried his best, every day. He didn't want to whine or complain, or stop being a sweet angel child for his parents. He got used to his Intuition over time.
One day, the bullies started throwing spitballs at him. They wouldn’t dare with the candles again, apparently. Matti "felt" them all before they even got close to hitting him. It still freaked him out that he could do this, when other magical students couldn’t, especially when his powers were in action. He otherwise just felt like a normal kid, same as everyone else, and would even forget about this ability at the best of times.
He did the only thing he could do, which was make the most of it and use it to his advantage. At one point, he ducked, and the spitball hit the girl sitting at the desk in front of him. She ran back and actually pummeled the boys. Once again, everyone else got in trouble, and not him.
Mere weeks later, the lead bully was about to grab the back of his school jacket. He turned around and punched the boy instead. He got in trouble temporarily (a brief suspension), but it was worth it. For once, he'd stood up for himself, instead of just dodging. He wasn't typically a puncher, but he was so over these boys thinking they were so much better than him just because they were a bunch of misogynists and he wasn't.
Third time’s the charm. The bully, realizing this kid Matti had an incredible awareness, like some third eye thing, as well as just absolutely insane reaction time, never bothered him again.
Yes, that saved Matti, there...But he didn’t want to be this way. In his view, stopping a few bullies during a temporary track in his life wasn’t worth a lifetime of afflictions.
If special race/ability, how did they join the school? Most students at Castelobruxo are not yet aware Matti is a Seer. His only ability right now is Intuition, and his hair is very black. There are no outward signs, at the moment, save when he reacts to his Intuition, but usually that is in high-stakes situations to begin with. However, the school gladly accepted him while knowing he is a Seer. They prize students who have rare "gifts" (in their eyes, not Matti's).
Abilities: Lovely Creature
By 7, Matti was acting as a true ladies' man. His frequent successes had a little more do to with his good looks and aura of approachability, which men hated due to jealousy and women loved (excluding queer people), rather than genuine skill when it came to flirting. However, even the men had to admit he had an aesthetic handsomeness. He tended to catch stares by his peers starting really young, absurdly young. The adults would just say "that boy has a pretty face" and his peers were all over him, either cursing his name for looking so good with no effort or in love with him...which he had to admit, even he found a little weird, even though he was more than willing to flirt around.
Again, Matti was just 7, but many of his peers were ready to date each other, and so was he. One day during recess at the private school, Matti was playing a game of football with a group of friends. Matti was about to kick the ball, when his friend just froze. He suddenly realized she was staring at his definitely-totally-absolutely-rippling child muscles. He blinked twice and messed up the kick, but it didn't matter, she was still frozen! The boy flashed a goofy, toothy smirk her way, then, with a gangly kind of non-control over the different limbs of his body, he waddled over. She snapped out of it because she couldn't see his definitely-totally-absolutely-rippling child muscles, nor his face. But then he turned around again, and her crush came on strongly again, and she gasped, despite herself and her Pureblooded pride. This boy wasn't even a Pureblood, for Merlin's sake, but he was just so beautiful!
He kicked the ball. He accidentally hit her in the face. She was still madly in love with him. They dated for a few weeks, then they split apart, and she ended up moving shortly after anyways. He took her on wonderful dates while they were a young couple. She never forgot him, nor their wonderful times together.
She definitely didn't forget his beautiful face moments before she watched the ball came barreling toward her forehead.
Oh no! Or--oh, yes! It happened again. The summer after that year's summer, a girl was staring at him every time he visited the magical cafe with his sisters. Okay, then, he approached her! He heard later she was a popular girl and usually wasn't this nervous with boys. That was odd. She told him later, it was just that, he was so handsome and athletically-built, she couldn't handle it.
Anyways, that was just his life from then on. He got used to it. It didn't make him more arrogant, because he spent his entire childhood being raised to be the complete opposite. Otherwise, it probably would've. He definitely doesn't know what it feels like to not get the ladies, even though he tries to. He's a bit afraid of his hair prematurely graying, because he wants to still look handsome. He can hopefully pull it off, is his thought about that.

Abilities:
Year 1 : Steady Flyer
[reducio]Jason Aguilar entered Castelobruxo without knowing much about the academic and environments of his new school. All he knew was that this school is a wizarding school -which was something very new to him- as well as the school where his half-blood cousin also attended.
Even though so much -almost everything- was new, Jason adapted easily upon his arrival at Castelobruxo. This is because he doesn't really care much about many things, and also doesn't really care about people around him as long as they don't bother him. Jason began to get to know all the subjects at the wizarding school which were quite different from the lessons at his previous muggle school. He also discovered various new types of extracurriculars: duelling, quidditch, and broom racing.
Boredom made Jason decided to watch games from every extracurricular in the first half of his first-year. Dueling didn't interest him, Jason felt bored when watching duelling. Quidditch looks more interesting because there are so much movement by and role for each rosters, but... there are too many people. Jason felt he couldn't bare to attached to that many amount of students as a team. Broom racing is the most interesting one, quite complex but not necessarily need to related with too many people. And... Hey! Guess who also has an interest in the broom racing and making this extracurricular even more interesting for Jason? Yes! His cousin and forever-enemy, Javier Aguilar. The second he overheard and realized about Javier's interest in broom racing, that's the time Jason decided to join broom racing as his extracurricular.
I can't just come and ask them to put my name in the team list. I have to prove that I'm as good as the other rosters and better than Javier. I have to learn to fly, at least I should be able to fly steadily. Jason made up his mind and felt that this is an important moment for him. The boy paid close attention to every theory in the flying subject. He tried to ask the professor for additional lessons, he even buried himself in books of climatology and geophysics almost every day at the Castelobruxo library.
On the day he flew for the first time, Jason's mind was full of the theories he had studied. These theories did help him a little, but not enough to immediately make him fly steadily. This situation made him gritted in annoyance. After all this time, my hardwork is nothing more than useless. In the midst of his dissapointed at himself, the professor's words brought him back to his senses. Learning to fly on a broom is pretty much the same as learning how to ride a bicycle for the first time when we was as a children. That's not just a matter of understanding the theory, but how we get used to the brooms we have, how we get used to befriend with the sky.
The only way to get used to it is continuously practicing, and the access of it will open wider if he joins broom racing as soon as possible. After flying class that day ended, Jason changed his mind and immediately registered himself in broom racing. The rosters were welcoming him well. He learned a lot, and it took two full-seasons before Jason could finally fly steadily and confidently on his broom. He had studied all the theory and he had also managed to getting use to the sky by continuously practicing. At the end of Jason's first year, what else could be said beside: 'all of the efforts are finally paid off'?
WC 599/400[/reducio]
Year 2 : Attacker Awareness
[reducio]Entering his second year as a broom racer, Jason feels that he has new homework to do in this extracurricular. Jason has problems at the time he has to deal with several types of obstacles, this is including, and especially, various types of environmental attackers which are quite annoy him. Moreover the location of Castelobruxo that is deep in the Amazon's forest core, no wonder those environmental attacker thingy are doing their duty so aggressively. Jason remembered very well the effect of the cockatrice's fire breath. Ah! Don't forget about the burning embers that came out of Ashwinder eggs when Jason tried to get through them. Just remembering it already made him feel weak.
That's why Jason used the first days of the semester -again- to visit the library. He wants to learn about environmental attackers in the Castelobruxo area and those that could be found on the broom racing track. The amount of informations made him sheeshing and cursing as soon as he started scanning through the book. Dammit! How come there are so many types of environmental attackers in this school?! Is this school actually safe for the students?! Typical annoyance that clearly could easily arose from the short fuse Jason Aguilar, but even with all that curse, still this boy read everything in the book, wrote it down, and carried the notes with him on every flying practice.
Yes, flying practice. Jason still continues to practice flying regularly to hone his skills. Now that he's on the way to finish his new homework, Jason practice flying around Castelobruxo, recognizing every environment where the attacker potentially inhabit based ot the book he read. Initially, Jason made sure to stay at a safe distance because his purpose was only to observe the attacker, but as the time went by, he became bolder in trying to passed through the attackers that according to the book are not that dangerous for him, which the risks are still manageable for him. It's a usual thing for Jason to come back from practice with a burn at the hem of his uniform, squinted eyes, or a little bit fuzzy brain. Nobody has to worry because Jason knows his limits, and he's totally fine at this moment.
Making several additional notes from his personal experience dealing with the attackers, Jason has sufficient awareness to deal with those entities. Equipped with experiences told by the other broom racers, he is absolutely has more confidence to overcome all kind of environmental attackers on the broom racing track.

[reducio] Her dorm was a mess. Again. Out of habit, she started grabbing her textbooks off the floor and stacking them back onto the bookshelf. Growing up without any knowledge of the wizarding world, she had never really used magic for menial tasks like this. She hadn't even understood that there was magic until she was twelve, when her adopted parent Maria told her she was a witch after seeing her cause all the cutlery in the room to float during a screaming match. She paused for a second, remembering that with her newfound magic there was probably a spell for this. But then she continued stacking the books. It wouldn't do to turn into just another snobby wizarding kid with no idea how to clean a table. Honestly, the lack of knowledge she had seen among some of the purebloods was appalling. And frankly embarrassing, though none of the other wizards would say anything about it of course. Don't start a blood feud with ancient, stupidly-rich families after all.
Still, her family would never let her live it down if she forgot how to clean a room over the year. Juggling a fresh pile of books from off the floor, she went back to shoving them into the bookshelf. It may not be a professional clean, but hey at least she wont trip over and fall on her face again next time she needed to go to the bathroom at 3am. To add insult to injury, one of her dormmates had woken up and chose chaos threw one of the quaffles she had for practice at her. She obviously missed that catch, as not even she was fast enough to grab a quaffle while in mid-flight towards the floor.
Done with the books, she moved on to separating everyone elses shoes from her book rack. Their disgusting flip flops did not belong anywhere near her babies. It was only half of her collection, the other twenty were at home. Fourty pairs to her seemed like a meager collection, but everyone else assured her it was "Too many". Ridiculous. With the imposter's separated from the rest (and thrown outside, into the dirt, where they belonged), she dusted off her hands. Victory. Well, if you didn't look at the other half of the room. The ability to clean the muggle way didn't quite equate to having a tidy dorm.
Cleaning was kind of relaxing in its own way. Though still not an activity she planned on doing often, to the remorse of any teachers who had to come in here looking for the students. Her mind wandered back to why many wizards had such messy dorms- it was literally just a wave of their wand (unless you refused to do it the easy way like her). Unless they were double-useless and didn't know any cleaning spells. Their poor parents (or in some cases, whoever their parents paid to clean it). Being an actually competent person wasn't her favourite advantage that growing up without much magic had though- stuck up purebloods always expected an attack to come from her wand. In the (very) rare occasion she felt the desire to prove them wrong with physical force, most of them had no idea what to do if jumped on.[/reducio]
Chasers interception:
[reducio]Coming to castelobruxo after so long in an environment with very little magic had been hard for Acacia. All this nonsense about blood status and she had no idea of her own- she just told anyone that asked she didn't know. It might lead to awkward questions, but she refused to keep guessing about her birth parents. They had given her up for one reason or another, and she didn't have to keep clinging to them. She had a family now, one that had proved that they would be there for her through everything. A family that she chose. If that explanation wasn't good enough for everyone else, they could stick their inflated heads into a beehive.
But up in the air, no one bothered asking awkward questions about her birth family. On a broom, she was free. Skill didn't depend on who you were born to but how well you could play. Perhaps that was why she had turned to quidditch. Becoming a chaser on the school team, though she would never admit it had changed the way she saw things even more. She was growing up, and she refused to remain the same hurt, angry kid she had been when her parents left her. She was becoming a better, kinder, more forgiving person and she did not have to be who circumstance had made her.
She was also becoming a better chaser. The extra time she had put in on the pitch to catch up with the rest of the team was really paying off, and she had really noticed the difference between her skills as a awestruck first year and now, as a second year with so much practice under her belt. Her reflexes were becoming lightning quick, and it was a game for her dormmates to throw random roughly-quaffle-sized objects at her to test them. Nine out of ten times she caught it, which for some reason they found immensely funny. Her rising hours before them to throw around the quaffle on a broomstick with whoever she could bully into joining her was serious business.
Solo training when no one would give up their precious sleep to join her was more difficult, as there were only so many laps of the pitch you could do before you started learning nothing from it. She had tried bouncing the quaffle off walls and catching it, but turns out the teachers weren't so thrilled with that. The rainforest however, was certainly something to fly through. Its upper canopies were in most places relatively clear enough to fly through, and the branches just added an extra obstacle. Sometimes she would take a quaffle out and throw it up into the air, and then chase after it on a broomstick. Most of the time she just loved to explore. The forest was its own kind of magic. Though thankfully 80% of the time she was able to convince someone to play with her.
Her skill as her chosen position as chaser had reflected all of her early starts and late nights. She had held off joining the team in her first year to give her more time to hone her skills, and hone her skills she did. Getting up early every morning for more time on the pitch and attending every team training she could had made her broom feel like an extension of her. Not to mention heading to the stands every time there was a game to watch all the different strategies. Though she may regret nothing, it was most definitely exhausting. She smiled and pulled her long hair up into a loose ponytail. Speaking of training, she should probably stop reminiscing and get out there. It wouldn't do to let her newfound skills go rusty after all.[/reducio] I took a little journey to the unknown
