I've attempted to make Alec approachable. I want his friends to just walk up to him and be able to feel like they can say anything.[It backfires on him real quickly though. BECAUSE NOW PEOPLE THINK THEY CAN WALK UP TO ALEC AND SAY ANYTHING THEY LIKE. And these people are sometimes mean to my Alec.]

My character is pretty much me in RL, but a bit more approachable. I always have my nose in a book, as opposed to her often having one.
