FAQ — Questions
Can you do a trunk update when there’s nothing of substance to update, just a new coding?

FAQ — Questions
Is it possible to do the test for the Dueling System without applying? The idea came up on discord, because while I’d love this role, I have a long way to go and thought it wouldbe helpful for the future.

FAQ — Questions
Hi @Amelia Lerelle! No, unfortunately in order to receive the test you do need to have started the application process by sending in that initial form. If you are interested in this role, I would encourage you to apply! There's no harm or consequences that come from not getting picked or still learning the system when you apply, plus if you do well then it shows you have a good grasp of the system even without experience (which we can definitely work with!) and you could potentially get the position.Amelia Lerelle wrote: 31 Jul 2025, 12:22 Is it possible to do the test for the Dueling System without applying? I can understand if that is a little overwhelming though, so some other options to practice and get familiar with the system could be:
- moderating unofficial duels
- reading through past moderations to check your understanding of the rolls done
- mock duels (mainly done through discord) that only are the base system (actions & rolls) without roleplay/writing
- There also used to be this game around potential duel scenarios. It's definitely outdated so I'd be a little cautious, but the overall rules/interactions are the same and it can show some more of the thought process or smaller snippets of moderation.
- asking moderators or others any questions you have around the system
Hope those are helpful! And I'd love to see you apply

FAQ — Questions
To add onto Lea's words, my first Encounter with the duelling system and rules happened after I applied for the test, and I made it in by going through both at the same time. There's no cons in signing up, and if you do well, you might end up as our latest addition to the team.
