The Shifting Game || Sapphire Storm Vs UltraViolet
♕-april 18, 2026 | quidditch pitch, hogwarts -♕
Somehow, someway, the tides that once befallen Team Ultraviolet now turned in their favor.
Between Alphonse and a blonde-haired Ravenclaw, the sportsman chemistry was palpable. Elena, he thought her name was, and himself seamlessly worked as a unit, a well- oiled one at that. Yet, after a newly-accomplished 50 points added to their team’s roster, the Haitian couldn’t help but notice that the other team seemed to diminish. It was as if they weren’t even trying anymore. His chocolate-brown gaze lingered on various faces of the opposing team, innate curiosity tugging at his cerebrum if this was part of their strategy, or a lack of one altogether.
Withholding all the gloats building within, the Caribbean-bred wizard remained silent in wait. Only a smile directed to Elena would be reminiscent to his emotions inside, but Alphonse refused to jinx their newfound luck by cheering too soon.
With an ironclad grip on his Silver Arrow, the lion glanced around at his teammates to see if any of them gathered an inkling to the sudden shift.
Was it a cop out? Was it to let team Ultraviolet get comfortable? These among more were only some of the questions scratching at his surface. All the boy could do was wait for now.mentions. team ultraviolet.

Overanalyzing their game was something that Landon was prone to do. He wanted to be really good, but he also had to think about what the other team was doing. So when it came time to do... something? He froze. Landon froze and he wasn't proud of it. They needed him to be on his best game, but he just... did nothing. Landon was thinking too much.
It was like their team was in shock after doing so well the first bit of the match. Instead of working like a well-oiled machine like they had before, they all seemed to freeze, not doing much of anything for this round. Landon was a little frustrated, especially when he knew that they could do better, but since he himself hadn't done much of anything either, he couldn't take his frustration out on anyone but himself.
Landon watched as Zach was knocked off his broom, wincing sympathetically. He hated that inaction on the part of his team had led to Zach being knocked off, but he couldn't let himself wallow in pity when there was a game to play. He was going to do better this time. Looking sympathetically toward Zach, Landon vowed to do better and try to help the Sapphire Storm win this game.

Blaize often found himself lost in thought. Thoughts too big for his small head, and much too big to worry about at his young age. But when others did it around him, it was refreshing. Except, not in every scenario. It was as if their team had all just simultaneously taken the Floo Network for the first time. Everyone was dazed, frazzled, and some just utterly annoyed. Yes, it was because their communication had lacked, I suppose yelling secret phrases to each other in the air while flying at high speeds wasn't.. easy per se, but c'mon they could've done something. Anything!
But instead of being upset for the matter he couldn't control, the red head threw back his head and laughed. "Oh my days, get it together! None o' ye can be acting li' that when you haven't taken a bludger to the noggin!" He'd holler to the sky, a smirk wobbling onto his lips, his face daring to crack again as his shoulder still shook with the remnants of laughter. If this was a real match, they'd bring shame to their entire house.
A faltering frown slid onto his lips. Speaking of teams, he wondered how many people cared about their upcoming game against Gryffindor for broom racing. It would be his first time on the team and he really didn't want to let them down. Shaking his head, he'd focus back on the game at hand. They better get their shit together, there was only so much he could do from the sidelines.

Wait, was this a counter-scam. This was absolutely a counter-scam. He was looking at some very similar logic dressed up in different clothes, meaning that the industry had more practitioners than he'd accounted for. Would've been charming if Mamori weren't currently on the losing end.
The argument had more holes than sense though. First of all, @Aodhan Shaw hadn't produced a diagnosis, which left the crippling anxiety as an unverified dramatic performance at best; even granting it was real, nothing established that Mamori bore sole and complete responsibility for its existence rather than, say, general life circumstances; and to round it all out, the 3~5 galleon figure required a therapist's invoice that hadn't materialized. As far as Mamori was aware, the claimant bore the burden of proof, and it was not the respondent’s job to assemble the claim on his behalf. And for the record, Mamori had charged a knut or two above standard price, but what Aodhan was doing had a name in economic law, and that name was, absolutely, 100%, hyperinflation.
The pink-haired badger did not answer the handshake with the one-fingered counter-offer it arguably deserved (filed under personal growth) but instead shook it while nudging the snack cart two feet left with his foot. "5 knuts for the first biscuit, 5 for the second, and the handshake confirms you accept the balance. Whether any of it cancels out is a question for after you send the diagnosis and invoice, and until then you don't touch anything else of mine."
So when Aodhan found the gum stuck on him and started screaming like he'd been stabbed, Mamori couldn't hold back a cackle, and the second Aodhan's back was turned he shot a thumbs up toward @Fire Davies, out of Aodhan's sightline.
Then it was back to eating on autopilot and watching on autopilot, until someone on the enemy team went down, prompting a "finally, took you long enough," some useless shit that was a far cry from the actual strategy discussion he was meant to be contributing to.

Playing Quidditch had always been one of Elisa's coping mechanisms against anything life threw at her, a hobby that'd grown with her to the fact that it was on the borderline of obsession, or that's what Orpheus had claimed the last time they spoke. As much as Elisa wished to cut him off, the aches in her body from the continuous unofficial matches, from Ebony's to Dido's, were a constant reminder of it, and now she was here.
Gliding through the air as the soft breeze of the pleasant day began to undo her hair, messily done in loose braids as strands escaped, which in most cases would've annoyed her but at the moment her focus solely remained on her goal, to score. Some guy from her year, whom she'd not seen much around, coordinated along with her as they went on a rhythm of pass and score to the fact that it felt like whoever on the opposite team was responsible for keeping was dreaming.
Almost the whole team was, if it wasn't for the older girl from Mahoutokoro, who instantly evaded Damien's blatch attempt, as the boy got caught, quite a reckless move from him, but it wasn't like Elisa could say anything, seeing back her foul chronicles from the last unofficial game she'd played.

It kind of felt like a short dance in an alternate reality, the past round. She wasn't sure if it was a group collective blackout, or if it was simply her losing herself in her head again. She did often like to imagine what it would be like if she could change into an animal. A small inkling told her that whatever form she took, she would feel the wind underneath her wings, soaring high in the air, one with the currents of the atmosphere. A larger part of her yearned to fly without the fear of falling, a thought more prevalent now as she watched the game get only slightly more violent. She imagined herself seeking the snitch on the field, forgoing her broom and soaring ahead past her opponents, completely enthralled by the freedom of flight as the little golden ball lay forgotten.
Eventually the Ravenclaw's attention returned to the stadium once more, the game still in full flight, as the others took advantage of the team's group lapse of judgment. Robin decided she should probably now give her team a couple of words of encouragement, the trajectory leading away from their win in comparison to the previous round.
"Go forth, brave Sapphire Storm! Hold strong when weary, you must not falter amongst the enemy!" She boomed in a strong impression of a noble leading a battlefield, the tone low and filled with demand. She was speaking to nobody in particular, and it was probably rather jarring against the previous silence. Then her attention caught on a small buzzing thing in her periphery, her eyes widening and her face softening as she gazed at a colorful bug. "Oh, look! A dragonfly,"

She really wasn't sure what was going on entirely. It really does feel like she is a supporting character in this whole play, as someone who is a complete novice at the game, but... it is better that way. Because she really doesn't want to stand out anyway.
But in this game its as if her entire team is in the same brain wave as her. They weren't paying attention to the sport at all. Confusion filled her face as she looked at her teammates. But Mio shrugs and floats around the arena waiting for another play to happen. She tries to mull over in her mind all the Quidditch theory she has learned in the short period and to see if there is anything she could do, but she also didn't want to be in the way of some of the more experienced players.
So floating around is pretty fun nonetheless. She notices some critters that flew around, not caring what is going on in front of them. Maybe she should be like them... but would that be too selfish of her to do? ... She guessed that is the type of thing that her grandma warned her about. This is a team game after all. Humans really are confusing. If she is just a bug, she wouldn't have to care about these sorts of things.

18 April 2026 mahoutokoro quidditch attire with hair in braids @SapphireStormTeam @Draven Mirador Her eyes darted to a familiar Japanese man on the bleachers. Wait... it can't be... HEADMASTER SAKO? He had a banner and all too. Well, darn she had to have her act up. As pathetic it was to admit, Kanae did have a bit of a grudge from the entire manga "incident" but she was thankful for the support nonetheless. It was sweet in a weird way. Sweet in the way a random uncle she didn't know going to her music show to show support was. Kanae held onto her broom and admittedly, let her mind drift off somewhere distant until a certain lanky man called out to her. A small grin came across her face at the compliment. She thought it was to be a pleasant conversation but apparently not. The man was a mediocre flyer, letting the wind take over his broom as his elbow slammed into her ribs. "Shit-- Thanks though?" The girl didn't usually swear, far from it (especially out loud) but the immediate ache at her side once the lanky boy swung back was a good enough reason to do so though. She wasn't sure if it was on purpose, shoving another person with the elbows wasn't an unknown move in quidditch. Swear she's seen one of her seniors pull this move a few years back. Kanae turned her broom's direction away from the guy as a precaution. Back to the rest of her team though, one of her fellow fourth years went down by the hands of Zophyr. Didn't know they had the guts for that but it happened. Quidditch was a violent game. Kanae looked away from Zach Zaphire's limp body as it was just... there on the ground. scuubaaa scuubaaa scoob scoob scoob
