Though it wasn’t too often, and Wyatt would never admit it, Vale scared him sometimes. Usually it was because she was the definition of a wild card, although she leaned so far into the wild part that it was hardly surprising when she did sometime insane. Right now, however, she scared Wyatt by looking extra not-so-alive. She was bleeding and swaying and while, knowing Vale, she probably was excited for a cool new scar or something, Wyatt needed his co-captain healthy for the rest of the race. He cast episkey her way. Wyatt hoped Vale wouldn’t be too upset at him for getting rid of a few of what she would probably think to be, like, cool battle wounds, but something told him there would be more chances to get bumped and bruised before the track ended.

----Vale cursed under her breath before simply slapping on more paste. Whatever hit her must've been like a huge tree or something. She was pretty sure this was worth another night in the hospital wing. Just as she threw the paste on, something else hit her and suddenly she felt even more better. She took a quick look back to see Wyatt with his wand casting. Aw, how could she not take pride of getting help from her own team? Once Vale takes over the world, she'll make sure Wyatt has a nice snake pit to throw all of his enemies in.

But alas, Vale still felt sickly. "Ac-hoo! Oh, I can't destroy my enemies when I am under the weather like this..."

The usual sounds of objects colliding with racers and people crashing into the ground did not follow his throw and so the giant knew to be disappointed. What he did not expect was to be surprised. Out of nowhere (literally, as he could only see the darkness that enveloped his eyes), something, or rather someone, slammed straight into him, knocking the wind out of his giant lungs. Before he had any chance to consider what had just happened, his reflexes proved too slow to save his own skin. The large figure of Hugh could be seen tumbling down with a wildly spinning pine tree following close behind.

His back was the first thing to hit the ground, his head came second. A tremor shot through his body as he felt the shock of his crash landing fizzle to the tips of his fingers and back. Even without sight, he could tell the world was turning. The sound of a tree impaling the dirt two feet or so away from him, made him snap his head to attention a little too sudden. Despite his natural resilience to damage, everything ached after that nasty fall. Whoever had managed to pull off that move, had surely left a mark that day.

With a painful twist of his torso, Hugh rolled over to his side and got back up on his feet. The blindfold was magically stuck on his head still, though his free hand still managed to find his broom that stuck out like the world's largest sundial. He grabbed the tree firmly with both hands and pulled with all his strength to get it out and horizontal again. "Now..." He sighed as he felt his body had recovered from the hit. "Where were we?"

For such a slow start, Della was now speeding ahead of the pack. The winds couldn't bring her down, and she flew fluidly between every tree. The race became quiet—she could take a quick breath of relief. But she knew it might not last long. She just had to get to the finish line.

Zach smelled something fishy in the arena. The first thing was Unit 5 suddenly caught on fire. The thorn that inhabited the unit was not only deathly because of the bleeding hazard, it also could make a fire hazard that would burn anyone who passed the unit. The second thing was the captain of the Slytherin team seemed not right. However, he couldn't see who was doing all of this, and no one would notice it also.

Xailiah Alptraum flew her broom, going to pass the trees. She succeeded in controlling her broom so no trees hit her. June Selwyn stays in the unit after throwing the co-captain. She was still bleeding here and there and once again, vomited a slug. Yuck!

The trees in this unit were more safe but there were still some Swooping Evils there. Xailah was flying too fast which made her hit the trees and the cocoons of the Swooping Evil! She was scratched by the trees and was bleeding because of the cocoons. Not only that, two of the cocoon was triggered by the movement of the trees. Xailah couldn't evade one of them. "The Swooping Evil was triggered! Their wings were actually beautif- Argh!" Zach was shocked. "One of them attacked Xailah's head!" Zach gulped. He took a note near him and read it out loud. "For your information, Swooping Evil is an encephalopage. It means they eat people's brains. Yes. Brains." Zach just hoped that Xailah would be okay after the race ended. Attacked by a brain-eating insect sounded horrible.

In the farther units, the captain of the Gryffindor team and the co-captain of the Slytherin team flew. They were going to pass a group of Doxies. At first, no doxies noticed them until one of the doxies, let's call it Jessica (sorry for any Jessica out there) saw Della and called her friends to swarm Della. However, the captain could evade them easily. Leaving Jessica and the gangs behind. "Nice manoeuvre from Della Barfield!" shouted Zach.

The fall did not hurt much, or at least Maverick did not feel it thanks to his adrenaline rush. But the rush also triggered him to be more furious at what happened. It was not his fault at all, the situation was just too unideal. Just like when Miguel Oliveira crashed and was knocked off his bike due to high winds in... was it Phillip Island?

----Vale still felt like death, and not in a good way either. She flew sky free thanks to June until she made it to...what in the world are those? Whatever they were, they didn't go after her for whatever reason. For now, she sees one person ahead of her. And...the finish line! Vale bared her teeth, a sense of monstrous determination spread through her body. Her team are relying on her, now she got to prove they were right to do so!

Despite Wyatt’s risky healing spell, Vale was still looking quite unwell. But who looked well in the middle of a broom race? June was certainly looking a little worse for wear. This made Wyatt all too aware of his current health. Realizing (or remembering) how quickly things could get very bad, he tried to savor this moment of put-together-ness. Rather than stay on his co captains, Wyatt shifted his focus to the track. He had to keep his mind on one thing if he was to stay in the race. That thing, of course, was the race.
