Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 1
Oh, she could move again. Did she want to? Not really. Instead she laid there. If Adeline had been fully successful, Willow could pretend she was unconscious. Instead light filtered through just enough where she knew that this was still happening. She curled up further. She was a failure as a captain, as a duellist. She had even given up- like an idiot. Gentle tears began to run down her face. She just hoped Pericles would end this before Adeline and Alan decided to strike a badger while still down, sending her flying across the piste even if it was obvious that she had no intention of getting up until she was dragged to the Hospital Wing. Maybe not for physical wounds, but certainly for emotional ones.
"I don't know whether to cry or scream or do both. It feels like I've done more than enough of both. And it feels like I haven't done enough." - Mason Deaver

GRYFFINDOR IS VICTORIOUS
Things had come to a close. The lone Hufflepuff duellist had given up all hope, simply standing by waiting for the end, little tear spots accumulating on the blindfold she couldn't be bothered to remove. The Gryffindors knew well that they had won. In a celebratory gesture, they attempted to cast a final spell- Periculum, for red sparks- which didn't go quite as planned. Alan's flare-like spell arched into the air and burned brightly by the ceiling overhead. Adeline's shot in the opposite direction, leaving her vision swimming with read. It was a chaotic close to a long chaotic duel, but at least it was finally over. As referee Pericles had maintained a veneer of impartiality on the sidelines. Now he was free to leap over the edge of the stage, raise his hands to signal ceasefire, and announce: "Gryffindor is the victor! Well played, duellists...." With a concerned expression trailing towards the Hufflepuff, he approached, gently untangled the blindfold from her head, and offered a sympathetic, pitying smile. Those last rounds were rough to watch, but duelling was a tough sport.
