New Headliner Staff!

Hogwarts Headliner is pleased to announce that following our recent applications, we have a lot of new staff on our team, please see below for the list.

This announcement does sadly mean that Phaedra Stavrou has stepped down as Editor in Chief. She was a tireless force on the team and we thank her for all her hard work over the years, especially given the immense work load.

The Summer Games for Quidditch and Broom Racing rosters and matchups are up. You should have received an owl with a link to your new accesses as well as a list of your team and who you are against. The games will be up as soon - please keep an eye out for this as you will be required to post. If you have not received an owl, do not have access to the correct locker room or discord channel, please owl me and @Marcus Iwasaki.

Important Information:

1. Players are expected to post in their sport game, when it's up within the deadline. Each post is a minimum of 50 words - this does not include your trunk information (such as stats, abilities and spells) or your action. This is 50 words+ of roleplay.
2. Failure to post at least 50 words by the deadline will result in your action not being included.
3. Both Quidditch & Broom Racing have a deadline of 120 hours from the moment the mod post has been posted. This is to the minute. Please be mindful of that. If there are any exceptions to this rule, it will be clearly communicated in the thread itself.
4. If you miss two posts, you will not be eligible for rewards (such as the stat point) should your team win. This is a new change.
5. If a player does not post twice in one game or are considered site-wide inactive (defined as a month+ without posting anywhere) then they will be removed from the sports team roster and will need to reapply, if there is an opening.
6. Each team is expected to submit a strategy to the moderator of your game within the same deadline. Failure to submit the strategy by the deadline will result in no actions for your team.
7. We recommend nominating one person to be in charge of submitting this strategy by the deadline so you do not flood the moderator with multiple owls. This can be a temporary captain for the team.
8. In Quidditch - 2nd strings still have to post by the deadline, even if they are roleplaying just sitting on the bench.

If you are playing a Summer Game with your PC AND iNPC: In the event that you play and win both of your summer games (on your PC and your iNPC), you only get a single stat point (not two). However, you will get a house point for each game that you win.

The summer matchups for duelling have been slightly redone to accommodate for all the iNPCs playing PC games as well. Duelling is using this summer to trial a year-based matchup system, and it is subject to changes before next season. The matchups this summer have been done primarily year-based, with one exception of a swap in order to balance the games better considering we have two Hogwarts houses vs iNPCs this summer.

All iNPC duellists should have received an owl with the current lineup (which can also be found in the summer spectator thread here: viewtopic.php?t=28156), and they should all have access to an iNPC locker room on site. The iNPCs all have access to the same discord and locker room so they can help each other with strategy. If there is anything wrong, please contact myself or Hjørdis Jensen.

Hufflepuff Duelling Captain Wanted!

After this stage @Alma Stoll will be stepping down from the role of Hufflepuff Duelling Co-Captain. She has done a wonderful job moderating and has been a fantastic asset to the team. She plans to remain on the team until the end of the summer stage unless a replacement is able to fulfill her role sooner.

The Captain and their Co-Captains serve four roles in this community, they moderate duelling matches, assist in the development of the duelling system, update and maintain rosters and assist duellists in strategizing and submitting their actions. The system is ever-changing, expanding and improving, so there is always something to do.

So Why Become a Duelling Captain?
- There is a level of control that comes with this and your efforts may make the difference between success and failure for your team.
- This is a moderator-level position.
- You will be compensated for your efforts with IC money.
- You will have a hand in future development, policies and patches

Please, have in mind that you will need to complete a test, this is so that we can determine if you are capable of understanding how to moderate matches and have the math mastery for the role. While someone might be good at normal math, moderation can be difficult for some.
