HUH you're my timezone bro lolI started in 2019 on December.. 23rd? and I discovered then and there that I loveeeeeee creating characters, fighting and all that jazz. Being a player was fun, and when I discovered dnd beyond, while it was easier to create characters, I had the books and modules that had more races and classes and sub-races/classes and backgrounds and all than the base dnd beyond site had and I don't want to pay.. for each book, then to upgrade to a subscrption tier just to create more characters or anything. I don't mind deleting characters or saving them as a pdf or writing them down on physical character sheets.
... long story short I like physical character sheets, its just time consuming though when you could click buttons and things are done for you in less time than it would take to do it for a physical character sheet.

I will say, I like that- unlike the 2014 Player Handbook... Drow is listed as a subrace in the core rules and the 2024 Player Handbook race options. The physical 2014 book lists drow as a race, but doesn't list it on dnd beyond and it frustrated me so badly because I wanted to play a drow.

lol I have the dnd 4e rule books as well and I remember when I first searched up dndinsider (the site tied to dnd4e like dndbeyond is to 5e, I guess? I dunno) and it redirected me to dndbeyond and I was like... yo is this site dndinsider (I have Dnd 4e, just never played it with anyone, for clarification. I have pathfinder 2e, Dungeon Crawl Classics, Basic Fantasy, and Dnd 5e)
Though according to wikipedia it shut down in 2020, and dndbeyond was created 2017 so I dunno. Anywaysss, I'm gonna try to finish these magic item homebrew stuff and then experiment with adding a homebrew class if I can and then go to sleep. I was thinking of 4e Warlord.
Edit: Reread, maybe not as clear. Like how books for 5e link you to wizards of the coast and dndbeyond, the 4e books also did but to dndinsider
