It matters in duelling! Arcane Power is used to calculate how much damage your spells do.

Flipendo damage for example is
100 + AP × 15

Adding to what Pei said, in Broom Racing, there are also some spells you will need to use Arcane Power to determine its success. Like accio and relashio. (:

I was wondering if it is possible to apply to be an adult even if I am only a 1st year?

Unfortunately no. To have an adult character you must either have your student character graduate Hogwarts (after 7 real years), or have a selected application for a staff position that comes with an adult character (professor, assistant, iNPC team)

Oh. Is there anything I can do as a 1st year student? Like can I apply for a Prefect or some other things? Let me know what else I can apply for as a 1st year, thanks!
