Question here: is there anything I should know about the Whomping Willow? I might do a thread near it soon, it wont hurt anybody or anything. And should I also use the "Grounds" for this thread?

Hello! This thread gives a list of animals that may potentially be seen on the Hogwarts grounds along with a bit more information on rp'ing around animals.

If I'm not happy with my avatar can I change it to something pretty different? I used AI when first making it so I can't really get another one like it and the new face is one I've made with the AI several times now accidentally. It wouldn't require changing my appearance description in my ency. I added the picture of the person I want to change it to below.

Yes, you can change your avatar picture whenever you wish without having to tell anyone about it. The only thing is, you cannot change your avatar to a different nationality/race etc... like if you are Asian you cannot suddenly change your avatar to a white person or a black person or anything that isn't Asian. Unless you specifically have an IC reason that is approved by staff for this.

Also if someone else is using the exact same faceclaim that you want to use, it is considered polite to ask and see if that person minds if you use the exact same faceclaim and if they do mind, to not use it. It is not against the rules on this site for various people to use the same faceclaim but imo it's better if everyone uses different faces.

Although in your opinion people should ask, I want to make it clear to anyone reading - that is not required. Some other sites do maintain faceclaim lists, but hogwarts.io does not. There are far too many active people on this site to check if someone is using a specific one, so no, people do not have to request someone else's permission to use a specific actor to represent your character. We have a lot of players that use the same faceclaim and that's perfectly okay! (Some people even make it a roleplay opportunity by saying they look similar to someone else)

Yes, that is why I said imo. I also stated that the rules on Hio do not say you need to do this.

But imo it is considered polite to ask beforehand if you see someone using it initially. If you don't see it beforehand then my point is moot. And yes, it is not required to ask of course, but imo I'm just saying I find it is the polite thing to do. I know a few people on the site who also agree with me on this matter.
