As Elisa got into her position, all the nervousness that had previously filled her mind went away as the young Slytherin clutched her broom tightly, she had to protect the three goal rings from the opposite team,

As the match started, the spotlight was immediately taken by Ruby @Ruby Cazares who had gotten hold of the quaffle but was prevented by the team 1's keeper, but after a while before Elisa could notice Ruby had scored, right after the quaffle was yet again gotten hold of by Renelle @Renelle Dalton and had scored again, this time Elisa just couldn't control her happiness and mumbled "Yess!!", after a while she yet again got back into her posture, not wanting to be caught off guard any moment,

As the game continued, both the beaters of the other team targetted one of her team's beaters and before she knew it, Alexander Alexander Mason was knocked out of his broom, it was such a scene that made the young Slytherin's blood run cold, but after she noticed the boy's fall get slower, all thanks to the spell of a higher year boy @Pericles Dralt, Elisa finally sighed in relief and got back to her position, her eyes set at the golden ring while also making sure that no bludger is targetted towards her, It would be the worst of her luck to be targetted by a bludger in just some minutes after the start of the match

"Hope things go well after this.." she mumbled while putting back her whole attention into the match and not her overthinker mind...

Cassius settled in on the bench, adjusting his quidditch robes to fall neatly over the side of the seat. He had apparently been late as the match started soon after. It was already looking to be an entertaining game despite only being an intramural.

Only half paying attention, Cassius had little trouble following the action and talking to his friend sat beside him. "I am doing quite well," he said honestly as one of the keepers made an impressive save. "Better than last we spoke. Settling in has been less difficult than I anticipated." It was true. His fifth year had thus far been largely successful -- both socially and academically. His duelling co-captain badge was one visible reminder of that personal growth he had become quite proud of.

He continued to listen to her words as the match played out in front of them. Their seeker was doing quite well and so Cassius felt little need to be on the edge of his seat should he need to immediately hop in. "Second-string for seeker. Definitely a no pressure position, right?" he mused with a cheerful grin. "Keeper is right up there on the pressure scale though. I played keeper once -- you will do great," he added with a reassuring wink.

"Likewise I have never played as seeker before. It will be a new experience should I get substituted. However, at the moment that does not seem likely." There was no annoyance in his voice. Quite the opposite. If anything he sounded relieved and content. The view from the bench was superior in some ways to the spectator stands. "When you see Napoleon next, give him a scratch behind the ear for me?"

She looked up, and off the players went. Lindsey kept her eyes on the players, striving hard to at least have a basic remembrance of their respective hair colour so as to have an idea of who did what. Her fingers aimlessly scratched the handle of her Moontrimmer, finding much pleasure from the smooth piece of wood.

Passion was soon ignited when the whistle was blown, much like when she was on the house team. It was always different, however same it might seem, to watch a game from the stands and from the bench, as having a seat in the latter meant far more engagement. Lindsey could feel it, undoubtedly, that adrenaline flew when the Quaffle was sent in the ring's way and Kincaid blocked most perfectly and professionally. Cazares and Dalton had the ace up their sleeves, though, and did two nice scores out of five. What a contest.

“It really suits you - you know, the built, the swiftness and all that.” She said honestly, after learning that Cassius was in fact backing up fod seeker. With his nimble statue and quick reaction (and maybe a keen eye as well? he looked like someone who's got the knack of it), Lindsey was sure that he would do well - especially that when second-strings were in the air the match would have already gone tense. “And thank you.” She chuckled a little. Cassius knew how to make conversations lively and engaging.

Her heart beat fast when an opposite beatet fell. Oh gosh, she knew the feeling - even after all these years she would still shudder recalling the iron feel of the Bludger bumping into her and cracking her bones. Thankfully the poor player was slowed down in the air by somebody who was kind enough - she didn't spot exactly whom with all her attention high up in the air, but reassuring enough.

It made her eyes widen when their seeker seemed to have spotted something. A snitch find at the very beginning of the match, huh? Lindsey's lips curled up. They were certainly doing very well. Promising new stars, no doubt. She nodded at Cassius's words. “That's indeed rather a quick find. But…” A seeker who had their eye on the snitch would only result the opposite beaters' eyes on them. “Hopefully it'll be alright.” She observed, hoping that Cassius could get her meaning out of this seemingly unrelated remark.

“Of course.” Lindsey chuckled. Napoleon loved scratches - most cats loved it, actually - and she was very certain that this would do. “I am sure that he would love it - and certainly, the credit to you.”

The game began and Ruby darted to the Quaffle, seizing it before any other Chaser could hope to claim possession of it. She threw the ball in the direction of the hoops, but it was immediately blocked by the Keeper. That was fine, though—she was still getting a feel for this again after not properly playing for so long. Recovering quickly, she went for the Quaffle again, snatching it away from the other girl whose hands were also closing around it, realizing too late that that had been one of her teammates. Oh well. What mattered was that one of them had it, and she aimed for the hoops again. Unfortunately, it was blocked once more, although more narrowly than last time.

Ruby was determined to score. Grabbing the Quaffle a third time, she focused on the hoops, and this time it made it past the Keeper. The achievement felt nice—they still had far to go, but opening up the scoring was a good start. A grin spread across her face, her confidence bolstered further by the whistling she could hear from below, presumably coming from Pericles. She was glad for his presence, and it was always pleasant to be cheered on by a friend—although she still wished he could be up here, taking part in the action and playing alongside her. For now, she took in the moment fully, relishing the excitement and the feel of the wind as she flew, circling back around to the scramble for the Quaffle.

One of her teammates—the girl from before, who she vaguely recognized now as Renelle Dalton, a prefect and Headliner member—had possession of the ball and took a shot, which was blocked by the Keeper. On her second try, though, the Ravenclaw managed to score, bringing them up to 20 points. “Nice job,” Ruby told her in passing with a brief nod of acknowledgement. Compliments from the sixth year were rare—typically only given to friends or those absolutely deserving of it—and as such, it said something of the younger girl’s apparent talent that Ruby deemed her worthy enough for such a comment. She hoped that she would keep it up with similar success during the rest of the game, though, and that this hadn’t just been a moment of good luck. Moving on and assessing the state of the rest of her team, Ruby saw the first casualty fall, replaced by one of the kids from the sidelines. Not ideal, but hopefully the team would be able to continue undaunted.

In the role of Chaser when you attempt to catch a passed Quaffle (such as when the Keeper has possession of the Quaffle and passes it to a teammate) you have advantage (meaning that it is rolled twice and you keep the better option) on attempts to catch if the opponent team attempts to intercept.
In the role of Chaser, as a free action if the user of this broom is successful in the quafflegrab they can as a free action pass the Quaffle to another user in an attempt to score. There is a chance of the quaffle being intercepted, however due to the fact that the user is "so fast" with the quaffle this would be considered "surprising" and the attempt to score would be done at +3 accuracy by the player it was passed to in an attempt to score.

Note: The attempt to score would be an automatic attempt by the user that catches the passed quaffle.
In the role of Chaser, if you have a contested quaffle grab and a contested strength roll between yourself and another user is in progress, unless they have the same broom, you would be the victor of the contested quaffle grab. In addition, rounds where you are successfully carrying the quaffle in an attempt to score, you only take half-damage from bludgers and blatching attempts.

banner shall be added soon. maybe.
The game started and immediately, chaos erupted around her. Renelle decided to focus on the fight for the Quaffle, as was her job. Almost every Chaser joined the struggle, which though she would never admit it, made her freeze up in the air and internally panic for maybe half a second, not used to actually being in the thick of the game. Everything was happening so fastt, it was difficult to figure out what she was supposed to do. She quickly shook her head as if to clear her thought, focusing back on the task at hand.

The other Chaser girl on her team got the Quaffle first and flew off to face against the opposing Keeper, but was blocked. The second time, she actually brutally wrestled the ball away from Renelle! Rude, but she wasn’t too annoyed, since the sixth year would probably be better at this anyway. The second attempt on the hoops turned out to be a failure however, but the Ravenclaw scarcely had time to feel disappointed before a third effort succeeded! The upperclassman had scored ten points for Team 2!

Now, the next few moments were when things got interesting, at least for the first year. Somehow, she managed to get ahold of the Quaffle! However, Team 1’s Keeper blocked once again. Ugh, why couldn’t he just let her get past her? Was him letting his enemy score a few measly points too much to ask for?

She had no idea how it had happened, but once again, she found herself in possession of the Quaffle. Well, looked like she was up for another embarrassing failure. Fun. The unexpected occured though, when Renelle threw the ball in the direction of the hoops, and it went straight in. Woah. She blinked. Had she actually just scored?

Maybe the world really was ending. If the triumphant assault on the hoops wasn’t evidence enough, the sheer fact that Renelle actually felt really, really giddy with happy from the compliment her fellow Chaser had given her definitely was. She wasn’t supposed get so thrilled from such simple praise!

She really had to start looking into why so many apparent strangers suddenly all knew her name though. First Bunny Girl, now this white-haired fellow Chaser. At least with Delay (was that her name?), it somewhat made sense - they were both in the house Quidditch team, and they might have had a brief interaction in the common room back when school had just begun. But this guy? Renelle was like, 97% sure she’d never even seen him before. And that blasted nickname too. Really, was Astra putting up posters or something?

And the game was off. I saw most of the chasers going for the quaffle and as expected one of the older years got a hold of it. Immediately shooting after that but it was blocked by our keeper. Somehow she got the Quaffle again and yet again Simon blocked the shot attempt. Bloody hell, there's so much more action in Quidditch than in Broom Racing and much less dangerous than Broom Racing. But I was going to see how much damage a bludger could do when our Beaters, Ulysses and Rebecca send a bludger rocketing towards the opposite team's beating. Knocking him out cold. I grimaced at the thought that a bludger might be sent my way. Maybe Quidditch might not be that safe after all.

When I was watching our beaters play, the other team had somehow scored. Not the best of starts but it was still early in the game. I was surprised when a first year got the quaffle and shot. Maybe I had a chance, if she could get the quaffle then maybe so can I. However Simon blocked again. When Renelle got the quaffle again, he was finally beaten. 20-0 None of our chasers had even touched the quaffle. I dunno about the snitch though, I didn't see anything.
"It's ok guys. Still early in the game. Come on! I yelled to our disheartened Chasers.

The Quaffle

This Quaffle round, to Koko, was a bit more disappointing. It wasn't that she wasn't happy for AngelFyre or Elisa, who were doing wonderfully, it was just that the poor Quaffle was being neglected. However, she did notice that both AngelFyre and Elisa did rather well with their scoring and blocking ─ now Team 1 was ahead in points! Koko found herself clapping from atop her broom, not that anyone would be able to hear it because her hands' noise wasn't amplified by her sonorus.

'Thirty points to Team 1!'

The Snitch

Astra continued to scan the depressing, overcast sky for any glint of a sunlike golden orb. She would see nothing other than layers of grey clouds.

Raizel, however, seemed to want to take advantage of her lead. She and Alyssea teamed up, and Alyssea flung her towards the Snitch. A certain Ruby was also flying awfully close to Raizel, but it didn't seem as if anything was amiss. As much as Raizel tried to catch it, it must not have been the right time. Maybe Alyssea had flung her too hard. Maybe Ruby flying nearby had spooked her. Whatever it was, the Snitch rudely darted away from her outstretched fingers.
  • Rolls:

    Disclaimers:
    • since any lovely creatures present are benched, the +2 to dcs is not in effect this round.

    Find DC is 21

Astra does not find the Snitch.

Ruby is attempting to blurt Raizel.
Her acc is at +2 per blurting mechanics.
    Ruby acc: 2 + 19 + 2 = 23
    Raizel evasion: 12 + 7 = 9
    Raizel is blurted.
The cheat DC is 22 for Ruby.
    Ruby wis: 9 + 14 = 23.
    Ruby is not seen.

But since Raizel was being alley-ooped, she doesn't have to repeat her Chase phase. She just gets an extra roll of disadvantage on her catch attempt.

    3d20: 3, 5, 11
    3 + 12 = 15.

Raizel does not catch the Snitch.
The Bludgers

Why was it that the ones who looked younger were Beaters? Koko wasn't used to seeing this, at least not on Slytherin's team, where all of their Beaters were at least in their fifth year. Watching bludgers fly around, she almost understood why kids shied away from Quidditch. At least in duelling or broom racing, they weren't getting pummelled by large balls of iron that were sometimes wielded by large, scary, buff children.

That didn't discount the fear that two smaller, somewhat less buff children could instil in others when given a large ball of iron to play with. Ophelia and Leon were mildly intimidating in their own right, and working together, they were able to launch a mean bludger at Rebecca. With both of them working together, the bird had little chance of dodging, and it hit her square in the torso, knocking her off of her broom. Koko grimaced at the sight. Yeah... Maybe this was why people didn't like Quidditch.

Before she fell, though Rebecca would make it clear that she was not to be trifled with. She alone was accurate enough to ensure that poor Elisa would be unable to evade her wrath. A bludger hit the young Slytherin and sent her, too, toppling towards the ground.

    Rebecca is hit for 975 damage. 900 - 975 = -75. Rebecca is KOB.

    Elisa evasion: 2 + 4 = 6
    Elisa is hit for 525 damage. 500 - 525 = -25. Elisa is KOB.
The Blatchers

Koko, personally, hated cheating. Not cheaters. Just cheating, as in the action itself. She scanned the Pitch, hoping it would, for once, be a clean game, but her hopes were dashed when she saw one Renelle Dalton flying towards a certain Ulysses Drake. The Slytherin bit back a sigh and watched as Renelle barely managed to shove Ulysses off his broom ─ and down he fell, until he was caught by a very kind, very helpful March Calister.

Colin McCoire, then, remained flying with nothing to do. Koko frowned. Had he been meant to ─ ? It wasn't of importance since he hadn't cheated, but Renelle...

'Penalty lap for Miss Dalton! I really can't blame you, we all do it, but come on, really? This is why we can't have nice things.'
  • Rolls:

    March catches him

Colin's action is therefore void per the order of operations (Sorryyy)

It took a second for Alyssea to see the snitch so she knew where and how hard she had to fling the girl. This would be the first time she ever alley-ooped someone, but it wasn't the first time she'd seen it done. Although, broom racing alley-oops were to get more distance. Different sports, different functions. It was truly a miracle she was lasting more than three minutes in the sky for a Quidditch game, however.

"Rai! Heads up!" Alyssea yelled. She darted towards the Gryffindor, foregoing any quaffle actions and boosting her cousin to the snitch. Yes, her other cousin was, in fact, the other seeker but she was just that. The other seeker. Raizel was her seeker and the girl saw the snitch.

As Raizel went flying to catch the snitch, Alyssea turned around to see what else was happening (a mistake considering what happened while she wasn't looking). She gasped as Rebecca fell to the ground after a bad hit from a bludger, but with her also fell the other team's keeper. Eye for an eye, perhaps. Ulysses was almost another fallen ally, but March was quick to save him. She grinned hearing someone getting caught cheating.

What were their numbers looking now? Harmony was going to have to replace Rebecca in the sky, but aside from that, no other fatal casualties. She hoped she'd live to see another round.

Alexander came to and Pericles breathed a sigh of relief. While he'd had no reason to doubt his potions, it was still a reassurance to see them in effect. "What happened exactly...? I don't think we've won. Right?" "Sorry mate," the Ravenclaw replied, gathering the glass bottles back into his satchel. "'Fraid you're out of the game. I was able to reduce the pain, as well as the bruising, though you might have a broken rib from that bludger you took. I needed to wake you up so you could swallow some of this." He rifled out the last piece in his potions collection that might help: Skele-Gro. "I'll warn you, it's foul stuff, but it does the trick." Peri offered over the bottle, letting Alexander choose whether or not to stomach it, then turned his eyes back to the skies.

One minute the enemy Seeker was being launched by a teammate, the next, she looked to be totally derailed. A small change came and went from the eagle animagus: his pupils flared and shrunk, dilating like the eyes of a bird who had seen something exciting. He cast a tense glance towards Koko, then back to Ruby. She'd blurred by the Seeker, but she must have done something. Pericles tried to hide a sly smirk. Not only had she bought them more time to play, she hadn't been caught in the process. Now they just needed to rein in the win. Scanning the sky until he spotted Astra, Peri cupped a hand to his mouth and called up: "You can do this, First-String."

Two more casualties. His team had taken out a Beater, though their opponents had taken out their Keeper, and Pericles leapt to his feet as both bodies fell. "Feel better!" he hurriedly called to Alexander, trotting further onto the pitch. Focusing on splitting the end of his wand, feeling the spell spread in his mind, he incanted "Arresto Momentum" while dividing his aim between Rebecca and Elisa. He may not be getting to practice Quidditch this game, but at least he was getting some spellwork in. As their descent slowed, he trotted under Becca, greeting her unconscious body with a pleasantly surprised
"Oh! The eyeball girl." Realizing he also had to find a way to catch Elisa, Pericles glanced uncertainly between the players before decidedly setting the first one down on the grass, muttering a quick "Sorry. Be right back." Once they were grounded, he would repeat the routine: Essence of Dittany to close wounds, Episkey to alleviate pain, Ferula for bandages, and a splash of Revive Potion to wake them up.
Action: Benched, being a field nurse
Flavor: cast Arresto Momentum on any falling players, spell-spreading to the first 2 (mod okayed)

The unofficial Quidditch game, it seemed, was already taking a turn for the better. Or the playing field was now even, at least. Though Ophelia paid no attention to the points that the older moderator student, Koko, was calling out, instead choosing to focus on her duty to her team as Beater, she still assumed that her team was doing well, considering the people that were on it.

But in Beater terms, at least, they had evened the playing field. Both sides were down one Beater and both had their second-string in already. This meant that if they bludgeoned another one of the opposing Beaters, the other team would be at a disadvantage.

Ophelia felt an odd sense of pride. Sure, she and Leon had done nothing but cause another person harm, but what they had done meant that their team could play better without the threat of getting bludgeoned- unless her own aiming went wrong. This pride didn't mean that her fear of getting hurt had gone away. No, in fact it was there more than ever because now more people had gotten hurt. But if that was what Quidditch was, then so be it. She was going to play this game properly and to the end, no matter what it brought.
