Dai grew up in Trowbridge, Wales with her mother Carys and grandmother Adele; when she was young they moved to Romania to support her father in his job at the dragon sanctuary he ends up dying in an unfortunate accident whilst attempting to tend to an injured dragon, leaving Carys widowed and moving back to Wales, suddenly being the sole provider of the house. As a result Dai was often left in the stern but capable hands of his grandmother due to her mother working a lot as she would prefer to earn her own money than have to continue borrowing from her.

Adele came from a long line of pure-bloods, dating back centuries, so you could imagine her shock when her only daughter brought home a muggle-born wizard with the all too enthusiastic intentions of marrying the man. Of course, the thought of losing her only remaining family was enough for her to, albeit very reluctantly, accept the match (and eventually get over a good amount of the blood-purist beliefs that she had been raised with) especially after the failings of her own love life with Carys father.

In her youth, Adele Davies had managed to win over the heart of a married man by the name of Corvus. In her stupidity she had expected that her love for him would be enough to convince him to stay with her and their daughter, but that was not the case. Despite him claiming to be ready to start a new life with her, she found out too late that if a man was unfaithful once, it was likely for him to do the same thing again and all too suddenly she found herself raising their daughter alone; though, not before she leeched him of every penny he owned in child-support (not that she needed it).

Dai was doted on at every turn by their grandmother, and though she was stern with high expectations, the two have a very close bond. Dai has always had an interest in the muggle way of life in honour of her father meaning she’d often visit nearby art museums and play muggle sports, indulging in the culture her father had grown up with.

Aged 6, Dai's first instance of magic was when she accidentally made a tea mug break from across the room when he wasn't allowed to play outside with her friends.

Maeve Callahan was born on March 17, 2012, into a cozy Muggle household in Cork, Ireland. Her parents, Aine and Sean, are both dedicated teachers at a local primary school. Growing up as an only child, Maeve enjoyed a loving and intellectually stimulating environment. Her parents instilled a deep appreciation for learning, and the Callahan home was filled with books, stimulating discussions, and an atmosphere of curiosity.

From a young age, Maeve exhibited a natural aptitude for academics. She was a compulsive reader and an ardent writer, filling countless notebooks with her thoughts, stories, and research. Maeve's love for learning knew no bounds, and her inquisitive mind often led her to explore various topics beyond her years.

Maeve's strong sense of curiosity and her unique connection with the natural world became her defining traits. She often explored the Irish countryside, delving into nature and investigating the countless flowers and other plants that surrounded her.

The girl's parents often partook in numerous community service opportunities in their area. Maeve began to join them in volunteering once she reached an adequate age, which opened her eyes to explore parts of the world she had previously overlooked. One opportunity allowed her to volunteer at a local animal shelter, where she first developed a connection with animals and creatures of all kinds.

Once her parents' suspicions of Hogwarts were resolved, they fully supported her journey, and she is very grateful for this.

First Instance of Magic:
Reducio
Maeve's first instance of magic happened when she was eight years old during a family picnic in the winter months. She was observing the wildflowers flowers that had yet to bloom due to the cold weather. As she began to imagine what they might look like fully bloomed, her magic stirred and the flowers blossomed with vibrant colors. This marked the beginning of Maeve's magic.

First Instance of Magic: Gigi was swimming in a nearby lake with her best friend, and practically her only friend, when suddenly, for whatever reason, Gigi opened her mouth and tried to breathe. She began to choke, inhaling more water. Gigi was a powerful swimmer, having swam in the lake her entire life, and began swimming for the surface of the lake. However much she swam, the lake's surface wouldn't come nearer. Gigi realized she was drowning. Her head pounded, and her heart raced. Stretching her hand towards the sky, Gigi coughed and sniffed. So, this is what it was like to die. And that's when she realized she was breathing normally. Once Gigi got to the surface, she sat on the lake's bank, and replayed the moment in her head. Gigi couldn't figure it out. reaching up to tuck a wet strand of hair behind her ear, Gigi felt a sticky substance covering her face. Gigi ran home and asked Nana what had happened, not letting anything slip through her memory. Nana smiled, and laughed, congratulating Gigi on finding her magic.
Character Backstory: Gigi was born in Cardiff, Wales on March 12, 2012. She was told she was a quiet baby, not crying much, and a good sleeper. When Gigi was three, her mother Georgianne, or Georgie for short, came down with an awful fever. When the doctors checked her, they said Georgie was fine. But she wasn't. Georgie recovered, but almost never went outside, and often slept most of the day. When Gigi was five, Georgie became even more sick, and the doctors diagnosed her with dragonpox. two months later, Georgie died, leaving her five-year-old daughter and her husband alone. It was around this time that Nana and Papa got divorced, and Nana moved up to Wales again to be with her son and granddaughter. Since then, Gigi has lived peacefully in a small, cozy cottage outside of Cardiff. Gigi was a smart, pretty, and shy little girl, preferring those she knew to outsiders. Most people call her anti-social, and while this is partly true, Gigi is willing to make leaps for those she loves. Gigi's room is small and cluttered, with books stacked in every corner, and plants hanging by the ceiling. Gigi can normally be found there, or in her favorite tree, reading a complex novel. When Gigi got her Hogwarts letter, the family was overjoyed, immediately making preparations to go to England. Nana called it her 'holiday'. Gigi is a nervous girl, having agoraphobia, and staying away from big gatherings. Gigi cares more about her education than her fears, though, and she's more than happy to sacrifice her sanity to be a part of this magical world.

Applying for Part-Veela

Reducio
Since before Lottie could remember, her mother had always reminded her of one thing: she was beautiful. It was more compliments to her mother than to herself, but Lottie understood that it was less prideful and more factual. Yes, she was beautiful. But there was a bit more to it than that.

Her mother, with her soft blonde hair and snowy skin, was not at all below the title of Veela. It was impossible to be, really, the species known for its shocking beauty. In Lottie’s eyes, her mother was a goddess who had no place amongst these mortals, but one look at her father and she knew exactly why she stayed. He must have been the only man in the world who could charm Miss Winfield into a Missus.

Lottie’s grandmother, a remarkably bitter woman, had married young and fallen out of love quite quickly. Despite many Veelas choices to stay unmarried, Lottie’s grandmother had jumped her way into as many relationships as she could in her lifetime, finding a morid entertainment in watching the men’s power trip before it all came crashing down when she told them she “just wasn't interested”.

Lottie’s mother, on the other hand, had been much more selective about the men she brought into her life. She had no interest in frivolous things like love and relationships, preferring to just get married and be done with it, or not marry at all. Upon meeting Mr. Winfield, her mind had quickly changed. It took them two years to finally marry when she turned twenty two, and that’s when they had their first child.

Four children down the line, they had Lottie. While she still held onto her fathers dark brown hair, everything else about her was a toned-down copy of her mother. She had eyes the color of pine, fair skin, and soft, pink lips, all traits that she was constantly reminded of. She was a near spitting image of her mother, and she knew her mother took joy in this. It was the one thing that connected the two. Their looks.

When she was little, her mother would brush through her hair and tell her about her ancestors, their long line of Veelas and the many men her mother had met before her father while Lottie sat in silence and basked in the opportunity to learn about her mother. Now, all of these children were part-veela, so their mother gave them each a special kind of attention, but the minute another was born she would leap to them and shower them with love and hope. When Lottie was born, it was her opportunity to be the “favorite” of sorts. And as much as she appreciated the attention, she had no real relationship with the Veela side of herself.

Although she would occasionally use her ability to get small favors or occasional domestic mischief with her siblings, she felt no inclination to use it to her advantage in the real world. In fact, she often felt that she was at a disadvantage, as she had read enough to know that there was distrust around Veela and their offspring. She wanted nothing more than to be seen from her wizard side, the side that allowed her the ability to use real magic and be seen as knowledgeable.

Upon receiving her letter from Hogwarts, she saw it as an opportunity to show her true potential as more than just her Veela side. She wanted to make it known that she was a true wizard, even with her mixed heritage.
Character Backstory:
Reducio
Lottie was born on a bitter fall night, her wails echoing through the halls of the hospital like the screech of a banshee. Years later, she would go on to wonder if the reason for all of her crying was because of the pressure that fell upon her the moment she took her first breath.

Her mother and father, both wealthy ministry workers who cared more for their paperwork than their own children, had immediately placed her into homeschooling with expensive tutors and rigorous lessons, including basic muggle schooling as well as the extended history and fundamentals of magic and wizardry. Occasionally they would request evaluations of her monthly work, usually just a letter grade telling them where she was on a spectrum, but they didn’t care much as long as she wasn’t failing.

Despite her upbringing, there was a constant poetic piece of her that seemed to latch on like a tick. It started when she was just a little girl, sneaking into her parents' work rooms and snatching books off the shelves to cure her boredom. She had been particularly attracted to the poems, the way the words sounded when they rolled off her tongue and the shapes of the paragraphs, short but wordy. As she grew older, it just seemed to stick, a love she couldn’t shake off. But she knew her parents would never let it be anything more than just that, so she kept it to herself.

Until the age of 10, she was the youngest in a family of two brothers and two sisters, two of which were still attending school, Ethel and Francis. The two that were no longer in school were a complicated matter for the family. Louis had gone on to get a lower ranking position in the ministry, a success through the eyes of their parents and nothing more. However, Anadil had taken her graduation as a doorway out of their lives. She had sprung into the muggle world and started a bold career in theatrical arts, auditioning for every play and musical she could find and making her name known. Her parents, outraged by this, had cut her out of their lives completely, taking down her pictures and ridding the house of anything that could spark even the faintest thought of her. Not long after, they had another child.

While all this was happening, somewhere along the way Lottie had received her letter from Hogwarts. Amidst the drama that emerged from her sister moving away and her baby brother, Eugene, being born, she was guiltily relieved by the opportunity to get away from the stress and the arguments, and of course, the homeschooling. Her parents spared her no pride, but there was that masked relief that allowed Lottie some hope. When the day finally came, she waved her goodbyes at the train station, promising to write monthly and swearing to herself that she wouldn’t make the same mistake her sister had.
First Instance of Magic:
Reducio
It had been a chilly December evening, all the Winfield children crammed into their home and left to their own devices while their parents were away on a short business trip. Lottie was, naturally, bored out of her mind.

In search of something to keep herself from dying of boredom, she had snuck away to her parents work room while the babysitter was busy with her more troublesome older siblings. Her mother and father had left in quite a rush, for reasons unknown to her, so the room was cluttered and appeared to be much more lived-in than normal. On the edge of one of the desks, a candle still burned hazardously.

On that same desk, though, was a shiny looking book entitled something about magical economics. But at the age of seven and a half, all she saw was the glimmering print of cursive words on the cover, and the flourishes on the spine. So, with a big leap, she hopped up on the chair and crawled onto the desk.

With that motion, though, she accidentally bumped the whole table, causing the candle on the edge to topple over onto the desk, the glass casing breaking to start a small fire on the probably very important paperwork.

Lottie, in horror, scrambled off the table and tried to find something to extinguish the fire. It wasn’t long after that the babysitter had started banging on the door, demanding Lottie come out. The banging continued, and Lottie still hadn’t found anything, and finally the door blasted open. But the babysitter didn’t look horrified at the sight of fire. In fact, the fire was gone.

Somehow, the flames had simply disappeared without a trace. And weirder, the paperwork was unmarked. The only hint that Lottie wasn’t going insane and had imagined the whole disaster was that the candle was no longer lit.

Holly was born somewhere in Ireland on March 14, 2012, and lived there with her family until she was two years old. After that, they had to move to Bristol, England, thanks to her mother who could never resist or/and stop herself from arguing with their neighbors about anything. That was very typical of her mother (Charlotte Adams) who always was rough, tough, and strict with a very fearsome, fiery temper. She was almost the opposite of her Husband ("Liam" William Adams), who was a workaholic and a good parent like her, but very soft-spoken and rather talk than scream your ears to the day after tomorrow.

She had a Brother ("Al" Alfred Adams) who was two years older than her and loved to play tricks and prank her. But truth be told, she looked up to her brother. Yes, he often was mean to her and they had their "sibling quarrels", but she knew he would never let her down. Plus growing up they always played cards and board games with each other, which he mostly won by cheating, but they were fun. So yes, he was very troublesome, especially while getting homeschooled by their mother, but thanks to his horrid attitude she always looked like an angel to her parents. In the end, she would describe her childhood as very lovely, like a childhood should be.

Reducio
But there is something you should know. Her Family may be known to be pure-blooded and always be in Slytherin. But it has a horrible reputation, so many families in the magical world avoid them or have a quarrel with them for what they did in the past. Her family seems to have many members who were "not-so-good" and were always on the "bad" side of almost everything, like in the last War, many Members were supporters of Voldemort. They had a lot to do with forbidden and dark magic like the unforgivable Curses, especially the Cruciatus Curse, but those Relatives (like aunts, uncles, and distant Relatives) who actually used those spells are still in Azkaban. But that curse was considered to be their signature Spell for a very long time. Plus the individual personalities of the members of this family were not always pleasant. But it's not only that bad temper. Many people would say they are the human representative of the dark triad. (Psychopathy, Machiavelli, and Narcissism.)

The story about her first Instance of Magic was when she was only three years old. It was thanks to her Brother. Because that dear, older Brother had once again a fantastic Idea. An Experiment and he needed his favorite guinea pig for that. (Something about what will be faster down the stairs.) Well... He wanted to do this experiment, but after he told his sister, she was so terrified that she ran away. A chase through the whole house started. But right before he could catch her the small coffee table moved and cut him off. His little toe still buzzes when he remembers. (Fun fact: Her Brother's first Instance of Magic was only three days after hers. A Teasing she never lets go.)

- First instance of accidental magic is too powerful for a young person to change the DNA of a person. It must be something "normal" such as lights flickering, shattered glass, a sneeze with bubbles, etc. Something not too advanced and is normal in the HP-world regarding magic.
- Your character's family cannot be death eaters. They can be Voldemort supports, but not specifically death eaters.
- Every family member who uses an unforgivable are imprisoned. If it is the case that your character's family uses these spells, there would not be any family for Holly. Be sure to recognize that.

- We need to know what forbidden magic and dark magic were used to make the Adams family very unliked in the Wizarding world.
- We need to know more information as to why the Adams family are "terrible" people and what made them have a bad name in the Wizarding world as well.
- Your first instance of accidental magic is intentional. Change it to be accidental or a surprise that something like that happened. Right now it is as if Holly wanted something to happen to Al's nose.

We are not able to accept death eaters. The death eaters (less 3) are actually named, known people. If we allowed death eaters, those three slots would have been taken years ago. I see at least a dozen claims that a user's parents, siblings, etc. were death eaters. So please remove this

Physical Description: She has naturally wavy/curly hair that's a bright side of red, emerald green eyes, fair skin with freckles and elvish features. She looks way more like her mother, but she has her father's eyes. She stands at 4'6".
History/Background Story: Ember grew up in a family of 5 which included her mom (Ana, her dad (John), her older sister (Layla), and her younger brother (Isaac). They lived in a cottage on the outskirts of Dublin, Ireland. The cottage has been getting additions added and modernized since Ember was little. It has been in her family from generation to generation, but things just weren't practical. Her parents kept some of the original charm but otherwise, it has completed a 360. Both of Ember's parents are wizards, but they're very humble about it and don't like using magic unless it's necessary. For Ember's 10th birthday, her parents gifted her a magical library where she can find any book she wants. When she wasn't reading her and Isaac were tending to the small farm their family owned. Ember didn't mind the hard work, her favorite thing was tending to the horses. Her favorite was a chestnut mare she named Brownie, she would often go for trail rides when she had the free time. Ember only really got to spend time with her immediate family since her dad's family is all over Scotland and her mom's family was spread out over Ireland and Wales. When Layla left for Hogwarts 3 years ago it definitely took a toll on Ember and she longed for her sister. They used to be the best of friends throughout childhood, they even got matching small scars on their backs when they fell off of a fence post they were "tightrope" walking on. Layla occasionally sent owls to catch her family up on anything major happening in her life, she had been sorted into Hufflepuff. Her family was 90% Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, ironically her dad is Slytherin. Her mom's family was very uneasy when they found out she had plans to start a family with a Slytherin. Unfortunately, there was a bad reputation of Slytherins on her mom's side. Her parents have raised all of them as if they were muggle children just so they could have that experience of a "normal" life. Magic wasn't really introduced to the children until Layla had her first incident with it at age 9. When their parents sat all 3 of them down and explained EVERYTHING to them, it opened a whole new world.
First Instance of Magic: Ember's first encounter happened when she was 7. She was playing with Isaac at the nearby lake and he almost fell in (he cannot swim). She felt a surge within herself and she cried out for help, yet she never heard the splash. She was in complete shock when she opened her eyes and saw him floating 3 feet in the air. Eventually, he came back down to the ground and she gave him the biggest hug she had ever given. Weirdly when they hugged that surge she initially felt had disappeared. When she told her parents what happened they just looked at each other and later that night we had a long talk about the road ahead of her and how dangerous it can and will be. About a month ago Ember received her acceptance letter for Hogwarts.

We are going to need some edits and elaborations:
- Your link brings me to your profile page. We need a link to your encyclopedia page. A page you must create in this forum. Please refer to this thread for more information.
- You will need to make a trunk post in your encyclopedia thread.
- Your link will need to link us to the encyclopedia page when created.
- Age is not date of birth, you would be 12 with that date of birth by the way.
- The scars mentioned in your bio do not fit the blood status provided because your parents would have access to magical healing and be able to prevent scars from forming. We would need these scars either removed or an explanation provided why neither of you was healed without it being an instance of neglect or abuse (due to site rating).
- A quick mention for awareness: you mention that you have a library that gives you access to "every book" - there would need to be some level of limit on this because this technically gives you access to 'forbidden books' as well and that is not something that the team can approve.
- Why would a wizard parent define the muggle lifestyle as 'normal'? They would have been raised in a magical environment as a wizard themselves. Being raised in a muggle environment would not be seen as 'normal' but rather very different from the life that they were familiar with. We are going to need some explanation regarding this.
- Why was the magical world withheld from you and your siblings?

Alasdair was born into a respected pure-blooded household on what muggles believe to be the ruin of Lochindorb Castle in the Scottish Highlands. His father, Cathal Comyn, is a scion of the famous clan Comyn of Badenoch, a line of aristocrats that rose to prominence in wizarding society when they faked their extinction to avoid muggle persecution following their feud with clan Bruce over the Scottish crown during the kingdom's first war of independence. His mother, Thusnelda von Tschirnhaus, is the last-living descendant of the Silesian branch of the Tschirnhaus family. She is a direct descendant of Walther Ehrenfried von Tschirnhaus, a pure-blooded wizard whose talents in alchemy introduced porcelain to Enlightenment Europe. Their union had been an arranged one, as both families harboured strong sentiments for blood purity. Despite the fact that they first met at the altar, Cathal and Thusnelda managed to build up a functioning, uncontroversial relationship, which was rather unorthodox and clinical insofar that the two never shared public displays of affection, which suited the family's stiff and stoic identity.

His early childhood was marked by his family’s immense privilege and affluence. The Comyns and Tschirnhauses had both built up considerable generational wealth, which meant that Alasdair grew up without any wants or needs. Despite his material comfort, the pressure to succeed in life weighed heavily upon his shoulders - he would have to fulfill the expectations and duties his family had thrust upon him, or spend his last days penniless, knowing that he had been unable to preserve his family’s century-old fortune.

Alasdair tried to remedy that stress by applying himself physically; his sister may have been more adept at using magic, but he would be stronger, bigger and faster. As he grew up, he became absolutely obsessed with quidditch, and tried to set up a fan club for The Prides in his native Inverness-shire, which his parents quickly forbade him to do, as they regarded fan club memberships as a gauche, plebeian pathway to hooliganism.

Nevertheless, Alasdair remained exceptionally interested in quidditch, and spent a lot of his time trying to stay up-to-date with game results, league standings and player transfers. He stuck to supporting the Pride of Portree, his local club, and frequented their home games, especially when they played the Montrose Magpies in the Highland derby.

Besides staying physically active and obsessing over quidditch, Alasdair accompanied his father Cathal on days out hunting nogtails and other pests on the Comyn estate. The two share very fond memories of wandering the length and breadth of Scotland’s moors and glens, which instilled a deep fascination and respect for nature within the young Von Tschirnhaus-Comyn.

In what remaining spare time he had, Alasdair attended balls, galas, banquets and charity fundraisers with his family. Armed with his extensive knowledge of social etiquette and a certain quick wit that he cultivated to out-do his twin sister, the young scion felt right at home at these events, delighting in the many compliments he received on his immaculate manners and courtly behaviour.
First Instance of Magic:
Reducio
Alasdair was particularly late when it came to showing his first signs of magic, which irritated him to no end. Aoife, his twin sister, became his parents' unashamed favourite for her affinity with magic, which had sparked an ever-lasting sibling rivalry.

Hoping to outperform his sister, Alasdair pushed himself to the very limit to develop magic, trying everything. He'd swum through lakes and bogs of the Great Glen, hoping the cool water would spur on something magical within himself, wasted hours trying to turn peat into gold upon the incantation of some imagined spell, and once even nearly set fire to his family's ancestral seat trying to conjure a ball of fire in the great hall's hearth.

In a shocking twist of irony, Alasdair would have his first accidental bout of magic at a time when he himself did not even notice it. After a long day of swimming through Loch Rutven, wee seven-year-old Allie went for some well-deserved shut-eye, drowsily stumbling into bed after which he promptly fell asleep. The boy can scant remember anything that night, save for the fact that he had a terrible nightmare.

When he was woken up by his parents, his room looked like a tornado had flown right through it. The curtains had been ripped from their poles, their fine fabric stretched and perforated by a seemingly inexplicable force. All the boy's belongings had been scattered through the room, and his priceless mahogany desk had been dented by something stronger than a lad of his age could ever be.

It didn't take Von Tschirnhaus-Comyn's parents to put two and two together - Alasdair's violent fit during his sleep must have translated to his first instance of magic. Ecstatic about the fact that he proved not to a squib after all, Alasdair's felt a sense of bittersweet relief; though he could not be happier about the fact that he was capable of magic, he could not believe that he hadn't been able to witness it himself.

It was a chilly, cloudy day in Norton, England. The date was January 21, 2012. The day Nellie Bloodlust came into this world. The amount of screaming and crying that came from that hospital room, you'd almost think she was unhappy to be joining everyone else! It was quite the opposite. If anything, that was a warning. Nellie hasn't changed much from that day.
As a small child, Nellie got everything she had ever asked for. If she didn't everyone else had to pay the price, so they just caught of that it was probably easier to just give the girl what she demands. Nellie had a happy childhood. She couldn't recall one time she ever saw her parents fight. Her parents made sure to shelter her. Nellie was homeschooled her entire life, which made her angry at her parents. They were just preparing her for things they knew she wouldn't be ready for, had she met other children her age.
As Nellie got older and her parents knew she was ready to hear about it, her parents told her everything about Hogwarts. Nellie knew that's where she belonged.
When Nellie found out she came from a long line of Slytherins', that made her nervous. She was afraid she would be sorted into another house, although that was never even questioned.

It was a warmer day, the weather outside was perfect. It was three days after Nellie's 10th birthday. Nellie sat upstairs in her home, watching kids play at the park across the street. She stared out her window, angrily. She always had to watch these kids play outside, yet she was never allowed to join them. She never understood why. Nellie loudly stomped down the stairs of her home and right up to her parents. They were in the kitchen focused on preparing supper.
"Mother!" Nellie shouted. "Why can't I go play with them outside?"
Her parents looked at one another, exhausted by how many times they have been asked this same question. Her mother moved over to Nellie and squatted in front of her.
"They aren't like you, Nellie," Her mother answered. This answer wasn't good enough for Nellie, she had heard this so many times. She shoved her mother and ran back up to her bedroom.
"Nellie! You get down here this instance!" Her father shouted. Nellie slammed her bedroom door as hard as she could.
She paced her room, angrily. She stood in front of her toy chest, trying to calm down. This was the angriest she had ever felt. Nellie heard her bedroom door creak open. She quickly turned from her toy chest to whoever was now in her doorway. Everything happened so fast, she didn't even realized her toy chest coming off the ground and hitting her father right in the chest.
Nellie stared in disbelief as she saw her father fall back into the hallway, along with the toy chest.

Early Childhood
Evandrus was born in Exeter, England on November 11, 2011—an only child to Ambroise and Eva Droit (née Wyndham), a Muggle-born wizard and a wizard-born witch. Their family was well off—having invested in stocks—and travelled for business, being event planners. Due to his parents’ travels, business brought them to Canada, where he spent his early childhood in Toronto, his dad’s former residence. As such, he picked up some Quebec French from his paternal uncles—all of whom were Muggles (and were aware of the wizarding world to some degree). During his stay, taken in charge by a wizard-born nanny, his regular schedule consisted of private tutoring at home as well as occasional socializing at children’s workshops. Despite having been exposed to his parents’ magic early on, he was much more fascinated by how Muggles worked. It was then that he was introduced to board games by his uncles, and he developed a keen interest in Muggle chess. To ensure that he received a balanced exposure to the wizarding and Muggle world, his mom bought a Wizard’s Chess set, setting him off on a newfound adventure.

Pre-Hogwarts
Evandrus returned to Exeter at seven years old, where he continued to receive private tutoring at home. It was at this period when he found himself in a crossfire between his parents, who began to argue over his upbringing. His mom became overprotective, caused by paranoia, since his first instance of magic—preferring that he kept to himself, even if it meant cutting off any external influence. His dad disagreed, considering that there was an agreement to raise him in equal exposure—yet was a pushover, which didn’t do anyone a favour. Because of the tension at home, he would sneak out and visit the local library—where he found out about the underground Wizard’s Chess Club. Against better judgment, he joined. Whenever his parents were away, he participated in competitions—even convincing his nanny to take him—and befriended most of the competitors. His parents discovered from their social circle that he had been “sneaking out under their noses,” causing his nanny to be dismissed. He considered his acceptance letter as a “ticket to freedom,” and was determined to become unreachable from his parents’ influence.

Evandrus’ first instance of accidental, wandless magic happened when he had just returned to Exeter. He was experiencing a nightmare on the first night, and was awakened by a deafening noise of his things—books on shelves, pencils on desk, toys in cabinet—each crashing down on the floor. This only heightened his fear, making it worse. Luckily, his parents were there to calm him down.

Alina was born on the 18th October in London with her twin brother Fyodor. Her parents, Ivan and Alyssia, moved there from Russia soon after her older sister Maria was born 4 years earlier because there weren´t any great wizarding schools there. Maria will be attending her 5th year at Hogwarts, while Alina and Fyodor will only start their first this year. The Devinan family was one of the most known pureblood families in Russia, mostly because of their wealth. Alina and Fyodor were homeschooled, but Fyodor still went out and had many friends he was quite popular, Alina on the other hand didn´t have any friends, she was happy on her own. Alina loved to read, she read many poetry books, especially Russian. She was proud to be Russian. She loved to read books about magic too. Her favorite books were about potion-making. It was a really precise form of magic and she valued that. She enjoyed books about difficult spells and their history too. Fyodor and Alina didn´t get too well, but they were still close. She loved sitting with Fyodor in the living room and listening to him talk about his day with friends. Her sister Maria was a great tutor to her, as she was already attending Hogwarts. Maria always had something interesting to teach Alina, and Alina always listened. She kept many notebooks in which she wrote her thoughts and things she had learned from every book and every interaction in her life. In her home, she spoke mostly Russian but was good at English too, great even. Her family valued her traditions, and always went to church at Christmas and Easter. She always knew she would make a prestige witch, now she had a chance to prove it.

¨December 24,¨ Alina wrote in her potions notebook, ¨Bezoar - A stone-like mass taken from a goat's stomach. Used as an antidote for common poisons.¨Poisons and antidotes. Argyle Oncitate¨.¨ She put down her quill and continued reading.
¨Алина, Фёдор!¨ Her mom shouted from the kitchen ¨пряники
готовы. ¨ (Alina, Fyodor! The gingerbreads are ready.) Alina got up very fast and ran down the stairs. She and her brother have always raced to get the first gingerbread because they believed that it gave good luck for a year. She was already at the counter, but Fyodor was already there.
¨Ha ha,¨ he laughed reaching for the gingerbread, ¨I beat you to it¨
¨Poof!¨ the gingerbread just crumbled before Fyodro could get it, and Alina was looking right at it.
¨Ах, Алина, это не было твоё первое магия?" Alyssia asked. (Oh, Alina, wasn´t this your first magic?)
¨Yes, I think so.¨ she answered, it felt not so different but somehow empowering. Alina grabbed a gingerbread and ate it.
¨Oh, Fyodor, I won¨ she said with a full mouth, while crumbles fell out of it.
¨Not fair. How could she have her first magic before me and eat the cookie?¨ Fyodor frowned and took a gingerbread. Alina was so happy. She rushed to find Maria and told her all about it, dramatizing everything.
