Mikael glowered as he looked forward at his course. A muted anger rose slowly under the depths of his being as he dodged the obstacles that barred his way. The wind whipped harshly through his hair tussling it up more than its usual appearance. Mikael lowered himself closer to the wooden handle of his broom as he quickened his pace. Something akin to a deep focus as the boy stared ahead. Greyish blue eyes as dull as ever.

Henrik moved through the air the wind drying out his eyes as he had simply forgotten to bring eye protection...or at the very least blink. The boy chewed nervously on his lip as he continued forward. His eyes glanced to the side catching the figure of a rival flyer. Henrik could not help but wonder if he shot this opponent down would Yefim welcome him with open arms? Henrik pulled out his wand before casting his spell at the opponent. A look of mortification crossed his face as he watched his spell completely miss the other student. Henrik looked forwards face red with heavy embarrassment as he hoped to god that it would not come back to bite him.

Chiaki would zoom forwards as fast as they could, growing more irritated as they bumped into the walls of the cave and scraped their side. The acid still was searing into them, and they narrowed their eyes as they pushed forwards. She could see some of Durmstrang up ahead, and some of Beauxbatons. She tried to think of the better of the team, but she couldn't help herself bitterly wishing she was up there with them. At least she was ahead of the other Mahou student.

Realising that he was actually left behind when casting the spell, Maxi gripped the broom handle hard and raced forward. He just had to get this - go as fast as he could, and perhaps one or two spells fired in the way. Passageway - alright, he dodged - another passageway - ahem, bumping into it. As the very first damage he had received in this race so far, it did hurt, and Maxi groaned under his breath. He hadn’t got another choice besides going forward, and so he did, fast enough to enter quite a few units and catching up quite a few racers ahead.

Sébastien was moving fast. So fast that everything around him was blurry and he couldn't exactly decipher what environment he was in. He just knew he was doing well.

The boy gripped his broom handle tighter and let out a long breath. He had gone shaky with nerves. Butterflies had started to fill his stomach. His body finally realised that he was in the middle of a broom race and Berry didn't know how to react properly. He shouldn't feel like this! It was fine last time so why was he so anxious this time? Maybe he was just being a scaredy cat and couldn't handle his emotions.

Raphael let out a long breath as he slipped through the remaining stretches of cave, easily avoiding its twisting turns and possibly obstacles. To his surprise, both of the Durmstrang students that had been in the lead suddenly lost momentum, slowing down and allowing him to pass. Sadly he wasn't the only one, besides Sebastién and Angélique, there were also still some of their opponents keeping up, and Raphael tried to go even faster, his face a focused grimace.

The spell coming his way was dodged more on instinct than purpose; and Raph quietly thanked his extensive training sessions with Cassie. He'd learned to always expect some sort of projectile coming his way, and let his body take over on the slightest inkling. Honestly, the spell also hadn't been aimed very well, it had barely required a swerve to get out of the way. Angélique was not as lucky, and she was suddenly thrown off-course, falling behind rapidly.

Taking a deep breath, Raph tried to relax the tension in his shoulders. The course hadn't been a problem for him so far, but from the races he'd watched earlier, he knew that the most critical part was still ahead.

Cielle was still going quite well, and thankfully the obstacles seemed to have cleared up a little right now. She glanced around her as she flew; she hadn't really looked at her competition when she'd taken off and now she was kind of wishing that she had. It was pretty hard to size someone up when you were flying as fast as you could. As far as she could tell, though, Durmstrang could easily kick their asses.

It seemed as if time froze for a moment. Strangely enough, after a nice showcase of his spellwork, everything suddenly stood still. Unsure of what came over him, Enzo shook his head in annoyance at his behaviour, snapping himself back to the game. There was no doubt he would have some catching up to do, but no matter, it gave him more of a challenge.
