My parents were out on a trip for the ministry, so I had decided to explore the forest by my house, even though my parents had told me to stay out my curiosity got the better of me. As it was summer, the forest was pretty dry, as I ventured through the forest it slowly got darker and darker, silenter and silenter, and I eventually got lost, As I was trying to find my way back, panic slowly seeping in, I heard the rustle of leaves. As I spin around I call out "whos there?" When no one answers I turn and run, tripping over a branch. As I tumble over, I fell something curl around my waist, squeezing me. "STOP, what ever you are please stop!" I say in a panic. Once I said those words the thing around my waist stopped moving and relinquished its grip, when I looked down I see a snake, "What? I thought that there weren't any snakes" "This froressst doessss have ssssnakesssss young one",the snake says "you you can talk?", I ask it Of courssse I can talk, it replies, "Well, Um could you help me get out of here, I'm lost", I ask "Ssssssure" says the snake. As the snake starts to lead me out of the forest I ask "Whats you name?", "Apollo" Apollo replies, "Would you like to be my pet Apollo?", I ask. A few minutes later Apollo replies, "Yes, Yes I would", as he says that we emerge from the woods next to my home. "well then welcome to your new home". I hold my hand to the ground and Apollo slithers up it and drapes himself around my shoulders and neck like a scarf, his head resting on one of my shoulders we then walk through the gates of my house and enter the property. As we walk down the drive, I glance at Apollo, his black scales shining in the sun. As I enter your house, I'm greeted by the familiar smell of home. I call out to my parents, only to realize that they aren't home. It seems that they are still away on their trip for the Ministry. With a sinking feeling, I realize that I'm home alone.
Apollo, meanwhile, is still wrapped around my shoulders like a living scarf. I can feel his scales cool against my skin as his head rests on one of my shoulders.

TIME SKIP

When my parents got home they were pretty reluctant about me having a snake, but I convinced them to allow me to keep him, They told me that I was a Parselmouth, And that Our Family was descended from Parselmouths, so I probably Got That Ability from our ancestors. Over the years, me and Apollo formed a strong bond. Despite my parents initial reservations about having a snake in the house, they eventually grew to accept Apollo as a part of the family. As time went on, I spent more and more time bonding with my pet snake, and we became almost inseparable. When I got my letter from Hogwarts, Apollo got quite sulky because I couldn't take him. "Don't worry Apollo, I Be Back Before you know it"

Caesars Family comes from an old, wealthy line of pure-bloods, his parents, Zelda and Harvey Nexon, work for the ministry, In the department of mysteries, so they wouldn't be around too often, so Caesar would usually explore the area around his house because there wasn't much to do at his, there was woods near his as well as a small wizard only town near his house, he also lived in a mansion, as his family were quite wealthy. He never really had any friends because they all thought that he was a rude, cold, uptight person, and when he did, they were fake and would use him, he was often bullied at his school as well, because of this he had shut off his emotions. As he was an only child he wouldn't have to worry about arguments with siblings or anything like that. The day that Caesar had returned with a snake his parents had finally payed some sort of attention to him, they were shocked that he had gone into the forest even though he was told not to by them multiple times, and was also happy for him, because he had gained a new pet. After that they would hear him talking to the snake at times, they began to wonder if he was a Parselmouth, some of their family are Parselmouths, but they themselves didn't inherit the ability.

First Instance of Magic:

The first instance of magic that was exhibited by Caesar was at the age of 6 when he was bullied at his school by a boy who was making fun of him. In a moment of rage, he caused the boy to dangle by his legs upside down

You need to write a 500 word application describing how your chosen talent (Parselmouth) fits your character (as in describe how they exhibit this magical talent or race) and where it came from.

Your Parselmouth application (excluding OOC text) is 496 words, so please, expand it a little bit.
STATUS: Pending, Meenauh, 23.06.2024
I've found another thing that will require a small edit — the snake you've encountered couldn't have known what a Parselmouth is, so it should be someone else who would tell you about this ability.

Character Backstory:

Septimus was born to Elizabeth Merrill, daughter of the respected, pure-blooded Rawlins clan, and Marcus Merrill, an American wizard descended from a line of gifted artisans and craftsmen, in the city of Bath on July 7, 2013. It was from his date of birth (and from his father's great love for the ways of Ancient Rome) that he got his name. He was something of a surprise to his parents, who had had their first two children, Marcus Jr. and Olivia, close to ten years earlier. While they were delighted to have another son, neither Elizabeth nor Marcus Sr. had the time on their hands to raise an infant again; therefore, Septimus was cared for by a number of nurses and nannies until the Merrills hired William Moses, a young wizard from Canada, to be his friend and caretaker. Over time, William became one of Septimus's closest companions, traveling with him between the family home in Bath and — during the summers — the one in San Francisco, California. Septimus saw more of William than he did his own siblings, who spent most of the year attending school at Ilvermorny. In fact, he sometimes forgot that the kindly Canadian was not his brother.

Home life wasn't bad for Septimus — far from it, really, since the Merrills were wealthy enough to be more than comfortable — but it did come with a small (yet deep-seated) loneliness. He loved spending time with William, of course. It was just that he rarely got to see his brother, his sister, or even very much of his parents outside holidays and summer vacations. He had good memories of/with them: building elaborate, enchanted sandcastles on a beach in Southern California with Marcus Jr. (or Marcus Minimus, as their father — Marcus Maximus — liked to call him) or keeping eyes out for kappa with Olivia during a family trip to Japan. He was fairly sure he was his mother's favorite child, especially when the older two reached the age where it wasn't cool to spend so much time with your parents anymore. She liked to take her youngest son out for lavish picnics in Bath's Parade Gardens or bring him to get-togethers with old schoolmates. He was her prize, and he was happy to be just that — as long as it meant he was getting attention.

Septimus's father, more than anyone else, was his idol. Marcus Sr. had taken his forefathers' gift for crafting crystal and glassware and elevated it to a successful business enterprise. Remembralls, Sneakoscopes, telescopes, omnioculars, crystal balls, and potioneering phials were just a few of the products in which the modern witch or wizard might find Merrill glass. When Septimus grew up, he wanted to be exactly as successful as his father was. It was just a shame that the business seemed to keep him away for such long periods of time. (And when Marcus Jr. graduated Ilvermorny, it took him, too.) Still, he wouldn't wish things to be any different than they were.

After Septimus's first use of magic at age nine (detailed below), his parents were thrilled to celebrate his milestone and simultaneously reminisce on their school days. His mother, in particular, saw an opportunity that she had missed out on with her first two children: she would send Septimus to her alma mater, Hogwarts. It would be good to have Rawlins blood walk those halls after so much time away. Septimus's father, an Ilvermorny man through and through, put up a small fight, but his wife was quick to remind him that both his oldest son and his only daughter had already followed in his footsteps. This one — their last one — would go to Hogwarts like his mother.

First Instance of Magic:
Reducio
William, Septimus's au pair, was the only one to witness his first instance of accidental magic when it manifested during a game of hide-and-go-seek at the Merrills' house in Bath in late 2022. Nine years old at the time, Septimus had squeezed himself between neat stacks of bedding in the back of a linen closet. He held his breath as he heard William count to twenty and begin to search for him, calling out his name while he wandered through the house. Septimus's heart beat faster and faster, listening to the sound of his caretaker's steady approach. Soon, William was in the room. Septimus could see him through the slats in the closet door. He made his way slowly and deliberately to the closet, peering through the slats and calling out Septimus's name once again in a playful sing-song. The boy held his breath. He was surely caught, but he wasn't going to admit defeat until he absolutely had to.

Suddenly, William yanked open the door. Septimus nearly shrieked — he was looking right at him! But instead of laughing and dragging him out of his hiding place like usual, William just looked confused. He seemed to stare right through his young charge. After a moment, he muttered something under his breath and closed the door; then, he began to walk away, resuming his cry: "Septimus! Where are you, Septimus?" What was going on? William was acting like he was...

Invisible. As soon as the thought crossed his mind, Septimus looked down at his hands and realized that he couldn't see anything but the clean linens. He'd completely vanished from sight. He'd done magic! The thrill of the realization almost instantly broke the spell, of course, and Septimus was fully visible when he crashed out of the closet and ran to tell William what had happened. He wasn't able to repeat it later that day, when he was telling the story, but the older boy believed him. It wasn't a big closet, after all. There was no way he could have missed Septimus otherwise. The two wizards owled Septimus's parents right away to inform them of the good news, and then marked the special occasion with a tremendous amount of ice cream.

Kenzie is a muggle-born witch. She was born in Bath, England and was raised in Maisemore, England, which is where she currently lives. Both her mother, Katherine Thatcher, and her father, Dr. Benedict Thatcher, are professors at Hartpury University. Because both of her parents work in Hartpury, she also attends school in Hartpury, despite living 10 minutes away. She is an only child, both of her parents adore her…and she’s very spoiled indeed. When she was just 3 years old, she was in a fatal car accident with her paternal grandparents. Unfortunately, they passed away (as did the drunk driver who hit them) and Kenzie was the only survivor. She does not have much trauma from the crash, because she was only 3 years old and she doesn’t quite remember it at all. Her maternal grandparents live in America and are not involved in any of their lives. Their long-term next door neighbor, Mrs. Agatha, is a sweet old lady who has essentially taken over the role of a loving grandmother for Kenzie. Agatha also happens to be a witch, but obviously no one knows about it until after Kenzie gets accepted to Hogwarts, and she was even there when Kenzie was visited by a Hogwarts Professor on her 11th birthday. Kenzie doesn’t have many close Muggle friends in school, because they all think she’s weird for being quiet and focusing on her schoolwork.

*More fleshed out backstory on Character Page*

FIOM:
Reducio
The very first instance of accidental wandless magic that Kenzie performed was actually during the very same car crash that had killed her grandparents and given her 2 scars. She was sleeping when it happened, so it was more of her magic’s instinct to protect her, which created a force (almost like a shield) that protected her during the crash. She was still injured, resulting in her scars, but only mildly so and definitely not life threatening. This act of magic happened when she was just a small child, about 3 years old.

She never displayed another act of magic until age 7. She was being watched by Mrs. Agatha and had been watching the movie Matilda in Mrs. Agatha’s living room. She felt that she was quite similar to Matilda, being very smart and all, so she concentrated very hard on the book in front of her. To both her surprise and Agatha’s (who had been watching from the kitchen) the book lifted off the table and floated in the air briefly, before falling back down. Despite technically being considered intentional, it was still quite a surprise and she hadn’t believed it would actually work.

Later that evening, Kenzie, her parents, and Agatha were walking home through the forest from the park. Kenzie decided she wanted to pick flowers for her mother. So she ran off to the wildflowers and picked them, not caring that they were very much dead flowers. After having a handful, she returned to her mother with the flowers in tow, only she had wanted to make her mother happy so much that she accidentally (and without her control) used magic to make the flowers come back to life…big and blossoming.

SAME AS ON PROFILE CARD, LET ME KNOW IF IT NEEDS ALTERING!

Hailing from the large city of Birmingham, Delaney Magindara was born on a summer day in the middle of August, eldest child to Tala and Crisanto Magindara. Both of her parents muggles themselves, with Filipino and British heritage. A few years later, Delaney’s younger sister, Nadine, was born. The two grew up in Birmingham their whole lives, Tala working diligently as a nurse and Crisanto as a firefighter-paramedic to support their family. Since Nadine’s birth, she and Delaney have been as close as sisters could get, even now. Though Nadine has always been Delaney’s more sensitive and sweet counterpart.

Though their hard-working parents always meant well, often coming home tired, Nadine would often require more attention as their youngest child, and their loving parents would of course give it. Unfortunately, that meant Delaney would usually get the short end of the stick, even if they didn’t intend it. Delaney would never let Nadine see how tired their parents were because of them and work, would always take full responsibility and harsh scoldings when Nadine did something seriously troublesome, not letting anything ruin her baby sister's sunny disposition. Most of Delaney’s childhood consisted of aiming high to please her parents and make them proud of their eldest daughter, making sure she didn’t do anything to further burden her parents, and caring for her beloved little sister, obligations of the oldest. Though their parents are very doting and loving, Nadine is a bit more cradled and delicate, Delaney turning out to be much more independent than her sister because of this. There is nothing Delaney wouldn’t do for her family, they mean everything to her.
FIRST INSTANCE OF MAGIC |
Reducio
SAME AS ON PROFILE CARD, LET ME KNOW IF IT NEEDS ALTERING!

Around the age of ten, both of the Magindara sisters in primary school, Delaney caught a few of the older students picking on her little sister and pushing her around, the latter crying and defenseless- natural for a seven-year-old. Delaney knew her odds, one scrawny girl fueled by rage versus three older kids. It was stupid, she knew that, but all of her logic had exited as soon as Nadine was victim to any harm. Of course, with no hesitation, she helped her sister up from the ground and placed herself in between Nadine and the other kids, unafraid of confrontation. She demanded them to leave her alone, which only caused the older kids to erupt in laughter. Not for long, as soon as they tried to move to pick on Delaney as well, mighty gusts of wind hurled them back onto their behinds all at once. Delaney now stood over them with a clenched fist and eyes narrowed in blazing anger. It was safe to say they didn’t pick on Nadine ever again after they ran in fear. But that gust of wind was peculiar, what a coincidence it hadn’t even swept one hair from her or Nadine. Almost like magic. In truth, Delaney was afraid to even dwell on it, that it meant something was wrong with her. Maybe she was crazy

My life is quite nice... I have amazing parents and a nice house. I love school and topped most of my classes. I also have a dog; Dash. I play basketball and piano... I also love LEGO (a toy for muggle kids (and adults...) it's one of my favourites...) I have a robot made out of one which I could control with my iPad ( a muggle invention used for multiple reasons)… I always knew I was a witch since I’m half-blood (My father's muggle-born and my mother's pure-blood) … I have been to many countries, and this is why my family also tried to fit in with muggles…
All these muggle gadgets of mine are used only when I go to my paternal grandparents' house cause they're muggles. And for my birthdays, they would always buy me muggle toys. So effectively I would only get to use them during the summer holidays, whenever I visited my grandparents. But I wasn't complaining cause magic was really fun too. My parents could finish all their work quickly to spend time with me… I love playing with my dog listening to music and just being free. I am a night owl and definitely not an early bird. It was rare for me to do anything “early”… Anyways, when I got my letter from Hogwarts I was ecstatic! I would finally be able to use my magic, and own a wand! My very own wand! But after thinking about it for some time, the prospect of going to Hogwarts and experiencing something exciting and new felt kind of... well, scary, because it meant leaving the amazing life I had behind... But I knew I would have to do it all my life. So why did I suddenly seem... so... anxious now? My mom saw me and came into my room. I let her. She would know. She always knew. She sat down and said, "Autumn honey, I know how you're feeling, but sometimes in life, to do something or have something we really want to have or do we have to make some sacrifices." And she made me understand that I wouldn't be missing out at all!

Rose Wemberly's life is a blend of muggle and magical experiences, thanks to her unique family background. She was born to muggle parents who believed themselves to be too young to start a family. An older couple, who were unable to have children of their own, came across the muggle couple's adoption ad and offered to raise their child in a loving environment. They had already adopted an older boy several years back and had discovered their love of being parents. Rose was then adopted after her birth to these beautiful, kindhearted half-bloods. Her older adopted brother, who is also a half-blood, shares a special bond with her, often guiding her through the complexities of both the muggle world and the wizarding world. This mix of influences has made Rose adaptable and open-minded, though her anxiety sometimes makes her cautious. Her family is her main support system, providing her with a sense of belonging and security. Despite the challenges, Rose's home is filled with warmth, love, and a deep appreciation for both muggle and magical traditions.

From a young age, Rose has been fascinated by the stories her adopted parents told of their travels. She loves helping her neighbors and often volunteers to assist at the local library, where she shares her favorite stories with younger children. Her dream is to one day become an explorer and travel to the places her parents had described to her.

One adventurous summer day, 9-year-old Rose decided to explore the nearby woods by herself. She loved to make up some pretend quests and this day she was searching for a hidden treasure that she had read about in an old book. As she wandered, she came across a clear pond. Rose, feeling a mix of curiosity and excitement, leaned over to get a closer look but slipped on a mossy rock and tumbled into the pond. Panicking slightly, Rose flailed her arms, trying to find something to grab onto. Right then, the water began to swirl and lift her, creating a small whirlpool that gently placed her back on the shore. Rose looked at the pond, which had returned to its calm state, and realized that her magic had saved her.

Odie Tarrant Goggins is a half-blood Irish born witch. She grew up in Cork, Ireland known for its farms and its quaint life. The Goggins are well known in the area for their joint Home, Hat, and Tea shop, ran by Odie's parents Floria and Lochland. Floria takes care of all the tea details and Lochland does the tailoring for the hats, and Odie acts as a translator. This is because Odie is also interestingly enough a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults), and was born with hearing, not uncommon but for others it could be considered odd. Both of her parents are half-bloods and Deaf. Because of her mixed upbringing between both worlds of magical/muggle and Deaf/hearing communities she knows a lot... but also lacks indepth knowledge as well. The Goggins were once very strong pure-blooded family, but were
never really pure-bloodist and didn't hold those standards, although a few follow the despicable practice. Goggins were often not well respected due to their non-rich stature and controversial views, which are now considered the norm. As time went on the pureblood status of the family slowly changed and dissolved as the family mixed a lot with muggles over years, although still fairly new in the mixture as still some distant relatives still are pure-blooded. The Half-bloods, Floria Goggins, formerly a Murphy who were all very well known as a Deaf lineage, and Lochland Goggins who was from a hearinf family, married and had their first-born, and only child, Odie Goggin.

The Goggins family lives a small quaint life, being that their home is conjoined with two businesses it isn't the most spacious but it is full with love. The home is extremely old and even looks a little wacky, but it has character as Lochland says, he has quite the eye for design. Even if his designs are outlandish, strange, wacky, or even straight up preposterous you cannot deny the appeal to the eye-catching gorgeousness. When Odie isn't at school learning at an all muggle school she is at home helping her parents with business, as much as a young girl can. Due to the town being quite small and not a staple point for tourists the business has had its rough patches. But Goggins, you know what they say they always pull through, God blessed they are. You can say that the Goggin's definitely lead a more muggle-type life but they welcome their doors to wizards and muggles alike and add a tiny tinge of magic here and there. Also they are definitely the strange family on the block, they are quite loved by the community due to their hospitality, although they also receive insults due to being Deaf, but that's usually a few drunkards who stumble out of bars. Odie's homelike she would consider quite normal, as it was for her and it wasn't uncommon for children to help around their family's shop. When the family isn't working they enjoy dancing to music, despite being Deaf they love it and the vibrations. That also means though that it is quite the LOUD household, although Odie is quite silent.

First Instance of Magic: Odie's first instance of magic was when he was 3 years old. Odie was sitting at the dinner table as his mother Floria prepared dinner. There was a bouquet now long dead as it was wilted and black sitting as a centerpiece for the table. As the two conversed, Floria signed something to make Odie laugh, his laugh caused the bouquet of flowers to come back to life.

What happens when a NASA Astrophysicist and an Astronomy-inclined witch meet each other and fall in love at first sight?

Nate. That's what happens.

Nathaniel Archer Costello grew up with a profound love for the stars and the vast expanse of space beyond them. Born under the constellation of Sagittarius the Archer (his namesake), he is a free-spirited boy with an uncontainable enthusiasm for anything and everything astronomical.

He was raised with an innate respect for both the scientific and the mystical aspects of the cosmos because of his upbringing—just as likely to tell you about the complexities of his Sun, Moon, and Rising signs as he would tell you about the latest, most ancient red-shift galaxies discovered by the James-Webb Space Telescope. A lovechild of two different worlds, Nate was raised by his mother to wonder at the light and shadows the stars cast upon those on the Earth and how they inevitably led each toward their cosmic path. Meanwhile, his Muggle father instilled in him the endless curiosity and the thirst for knowledge of how those same heavenly bodies formed and came to be where they were in the sky and the forces that kept them shining there for the world to see.

One would expect for these two worlds to collide and inevitably collapse, but although his mother and father saw the world with vastly different eyes, they still looked at the same stars, the same sky, the same immeasurable universe, and at the end of the day, those eyes looked upon each other (and at him) with genuine, unbreakable, immeasurable love.

And that never did collapse.

Not even when Nate showed signs of being a wizard with his first instance of magic, the Hogwarts acceptance letter not far behind. His father celebrated the beginnings of his journey just the same—maybe even more!

The young boy had heard stories in his childhood about the glittering stars above the tall Hogwarts Astronomy Tower (disguised as fairy tales before he displayed as magical) and the absolutely ginormous telescope to see them with. There were even centaurs! With bows! Like his zodiac sign!

Who taught Astronomy!

To say he was excited to start wizarding school was an understatement. Everything turned out to be true!

Though the Muggle world held an impermeable place in his heart, Nathaniel knew Hogwarts was where he truly belonged.

First Instance of Magic:
Reducio
Nate laid back in the grass, sandwiched between his mother and father. He was in his favorite place (second only to the roof), in the grass under the night sky, with his two favorite people in the world beside him. Although tonight felt weird as they were in a different country for his 10th birthday, he felt he'd belong anywhere if he had his mom and dad with him.

"Look, bud! It's Canis Major. You can see it so clearly tonight." His dad pointed out the constellation superimposed in the vast, dark sky. The boy stared up in wonder as his dad told him all about the particular set of stars known as the Greater Dog. He listened in rapt attention, especially because the night sky in England was vastly different from the one back home.

"That brightest star up there? That star's called Sirius."

At that, Nathaniel jumped up to his knees to tap his mother excitedly in the shoulder. "Mom, isn't that the name of that scary man you told me about in that one story?"

His mother let out a soft laugh, reminding him so much of wind chimes—or the twinkling of stars.

"Yes, honey. He was the one who betrayed his closest friends to the big bad villain of the story. Which teaches us that…?"

"…trusting completely means a friend for life or a lesson for life." The boy repeated matter-of-factly before flopping back down onto the soft grass. Nate turned his head just in time to catch the fond look his dad sent their way.

Before he could return his eyes to the sky, he heard his mother's excited gasp. "Leonids!"

Meteor shower.

To the left of the constellation of the Greater Dog was Leo of the zodiac, and from it streaked a few bright points of light.

Nate jumped to his feet, mouth slack as he watched them grow in number. Feeling—more than seeing—his parents stand, as well, he heard his mom whisper urgently.

"Quick! Make a wish!"

Feeling his heart jump in excitement, the boy closed his eyes and clasped his hands right in front of him.

He thought about what he wanted most, which was difficult when he had both already beside him. He thought about the greatest wish his ten year-old heart possessed. And he thought about Sirius the Friend-Turned-Foe.

A star. Stars. I wish I had a star, too, like Sirius. Even bad guys can have stars, too, right? And I've been good. Nate the star. I want that. I want a star!

He must have been chanting that in his head for so long because he only snapped out of it when his dad grasped his shoulder with what felt like shaking hands. "Uh… bud…?" He heard the concern in his dad's voice.

Opening his eyes would reveal what would be the greatest wonder his ten year-old heart could have conjured.

In between his clasped hands was a ball of softly-glowing light the size of a marble, throwing pure white rays through their lawn.

He could hear his mom's gasp of wonder before she uttered the words that would change the trajectory of his life forever in a voice full of wonder and what sounded like pride.

"You're a wizard, honey."

1) Your encyclopedia is incomplete. Most of the mandatory information as well as your trunk post is missing. Please take a look at this thread.
2) Remember that not all information that we OOC know about canon characters is available to your chracter. Sirius Black being an animagus was not common knowledge in the wizarding world.

1) Sirius Black was proven innocent of betraying his friends, please edit this reference to reflect that.
2) Your first instance of magic seems very intentional. He wished for a star, and then a ball of light appears in his hand. Please remove reference to wishing for a star or edit the first magic so it does not seem intentional.

Character Special Race/Talent: Parselmouth
My family consisted of many parselmouths, including my father and my paternal grandfather. Our parselmouth origin was therefore a secret to all, for as I thought so, other wizards and witches world think of us as having a “dark heritage”, a well as being dark wizards. Whilst this is half true, for some of my paternal family members became dark wizards upon knowing how to speak parseltougue, most of us were hiding or abilities from the outside world.

I half expected it to happen at that time, as my father shared our ‘family secret’ as he called it so. Right in the middle of walking around in our backyard for boredom, I noticed a snake on the floor, crawling towards me. That time, being young and carefree, I panicked and took off. Not knowing that I possessed that special talent, I suddenly found out that I was running too slowly. I was bound to do something. Quick, I told myself.

Withdrawing my concentration, I gazed down at the snake steadily. Move away, I said firmly to the snake, hoping with all my heart that it would at least react in some way out other. Suddenly, with many signs of relief, the snake slithered rather smugly away, and just on time, I heard that it said something back. Yes, Miss. It was all I heard. I smiled. The snake does seem to know sense, I guess, I thought.

It was a great moment, for me, at least. It felt as though I made a new friend already. As the snake slithered back into the grassy field, I had this stage sensation that I didn’t really want it to go, and I just wanted it to stay. For a while longer. Sure, to say, I was quite proud of myself, finding out that I knew how to speak a special language, parselmouth . To me, it was deemed interesting and I was sure that that was exactly what parselmouth was meant to be. It was meant to be great fun.

As I bid goodbye to the snake, which seemed to make me see things in a whole different light, that snakes were actually one of the best creatures on earth and was nothing to be afraid of. As I remembered how other people felt that being a parselmouth meant that you had dark heritage, I found out that it was not true. Come to think of it, I simply thought that communicating with snakes was just a whole new experience for me, and a rather cool talent to have as well.

My head filled with those thoughts, I quickly poured out the whole story to my parents, who listened intently. At long last, they started to speak. All for the better. You know this, my dear.

It has mainly comforted me much about the dark heritage, the dark power that might be inside me, was untrue. At that time, there was only one thought on my head - that you don’t have to be a bad person to be able to do what sort of thing. Rather confronted, I smiled.

Character Backstory:
I was born in 4th June 2013, which is quite a coincidence concerning that it was Independence Day. That day, being cold and chilly, which, as my mother thought, that it just proved that I would be a strong witch in the future, and she had complete trust on me. That day, to celebrate my birth, my family called our relatives to have a surprise party in which they would shake hands with me. I would’ve never knew of that matter if it wasn’t for my mother, who told me the truth seven years later.

I was born in Glenrothes, a splendid building in England which my family was careful to be separated from muggles in fear that we would be noticed. That place was the only place that I would call ‘home’. Every day, its beautiful paintings would make me feel relaxing, for its simplicity was all that mattered.

I lived a joyful and relaxing childhood with absolutely no knowledge of the muggle world. Being an only child, my family put all their time and faith on me, and I am truly grateful about it up to this day.

My family consisted of many Ravenclaws and Slytherins, mainly Parselmouths. Here and there, the Vanes family get proud of each other for owning a specialty that many others might not have. I, who can be pretty impressed with it myself, just can’t stop thinking about it all day long. There was this strange gut feeling that having many relations that are parselmouths, that I might be one myself. However, I cannot prove it just yet. Sometimes I would ask my mother about this, but the usual answer I get is that I’d find out later in my life. I, being bored of waiting, simply couldn’t resist the temptation of near possibilities of me finding out.

I was homeschooled, and thank God I was. There were some things about me that other children were sure to dislike, from being ‘abnormal’ as many muggles thought so. The Vanes, my family, was a wealthy family and so we lived in a stunningly impressive mansion that many others would be jealous of.

FIOM:

My first instance of accidental magic occurred at the age of six. It was when my mother fell sick on my birthday, and at the same day, my dad had to go on an appointment to meet with the minister of magic, did I feel truly alone with no one to spend my birthday with. I started to cry, feeling depressed. Quite suddenly, as my eyes gazed in amazement, it started to rain outside. I was startled. But after a moment, when my parents figured out what was going on, they smiled and said that it was just my first instance of magic, and there was absolutely nothing to worry about.

Biography

The youngest of his specific parentage, he has siblings both older and younger than himself. Notably, his eldest half-sister Olivia Hess graduated from Hogwarts last year, he shared a mother with her. His eldest half-brother, Vladimir Athanatos (NPC owned by this author used in events) recently graduated from Hogwarts in 2024, they share a father. His second eldest half-brother is Jürgen Hess (NPC owned by this author used in events) is still in Hogwarts and they share the same mother, Aamon has been raised primarily in the Athanatos household but has also spent significant time in the Hess homestead as well. His second eldest half-brother is Giddeon Athanatos (NPC owned by this author used in events) who is also still in Hogwarts and they share the same father. He also has a squib half-sibling, Dirk with whom Aamon shares a mother with. Aamon has had limited association with Dirk to their unfortunate lack of magical promise, a failure in breeding and legacy unfortunately. He has a few younger half-siblings also, however he does not spend a great deal of time with these younger family members yet (remains vague because I do not want contradictory information regarding the family tree).

While his family might seem odd to some, the family tree might require a spreadsheet, to a pureblood such as himself, marriages and children are not always (or even often) made as a product of love but rather as simply a 'product.' His father, Thaddeus Athanatos is a pure-blooded Seer and rumored legilimens and his mother, also Olivia (his older half-sister has the same name) is a Seer. Due to the rarity of their bloodline and psychic talent, it is considered their duty to not only have large families to expand their numbers but to also maintain genetic diversity, so he has many half-siblings and cousins with confusing connections that he considers to be natural and expected.

Besides his unique perspective on familial normalcy, he had a rather common, albeit privileged childhood. He grew up wealthy, so wanted for little besides the attention of his parents who lived separate lives in separate homes. There was never witnessed affection between his biological parents, however he was well cared for and they both took an active role in raising Aamon.

He was educated in a private school for pureblooded wizards. While there are no known public institutions for the early training of wizard children, elementary education can be provided in a group setting without subsidy or oversight from the Ministry of Magic and that was the case with young Aamon. Aamon and several other, like-aged children were provided their basic education in a classroom setting in London. He would arrive daily via floo and return nightly to his homestead in Bath. He did well enough there, learning basic maths, science, geography, history and literature. At home, since his family was quite large and diverse and his parents did not have a great deal of time to spend with him individually, he spent a lot of his free time with tutors that taught him how to play various instruments. This was considered leisure time for him and as such he is passionate about music. (WC: 532)
Seer

Being a Seer is to an extent an expectation, however even with a family bloodline that has paid such close attention to this specific trait, even a wizard cannot control nature. In about 60% of cases, a pairing yields a child with Seer talent. This is something that parents monitor for in their children for years in idle hope that another Seer would be born. Being born 'without' or as a layman might refer to them, as 'normal' in their familiar context, they are an unfortunate disappointment in our family. The link and tie still there, the genes just failing to exhibit this talent many maintain a genetic link in our family for the sake of diversity but they rarely have more than a single child within our family line for fear of dilution.

I am one such Seer, again an expected outcome for the most part. Afterall, there is a great than 50% chance. My talent was suspected when I was about 5 years of age, where I would simply avoid unconsciously minor pitfalls or find an object that was hidden well enough that by all statistical odds I should have struggled to find. However, "luck" is simply falling outside the standard deviation of probability. So while this was suspected and these minor games would continue on for years, basically leaving a notch in my favor for the years leading up to Hogwarts until there were so many in my favor, it would have been foolhardy and hard-headed to presume that I was anything but a Seer.

Examples of such activities would be games of dodgeball with bean bags, hard enough to sting but never really injure. As a younger child in the group, I learned quickly that I wanted to avoid the sting of a full hit. Some of my evasive capabilities was certainly a manifestation of physical skill and practice, but again it was a game of odds. The same could be said when we engaged in easter-egg hunts, scavenger hunts and similar activities where a keen eye might have given me a bit of an advantage but again it was a game of odds. As capable as I might have seen myself, everyone has a weakness, however my success rates remained approximately the same - above expected parameters. this has been encouraging to both of my parents, my half-brother Giddeon never developed this gift and while he is very much a part of the family, it is likely that his madness would be better tolerated had he developed the skill of his forbearers. I suppose I can be thankful he did not.

I have not had a vision as of yet, but my half-brother Jürgen has taken an interest in my development. I am only as valuable as I am capable he would remind me. A variety of divination practices common among my family have been reviewed time and time again. It is my hope as my skill develops I will be having visions like my brothers and that I will be able to take my rightful place in my family. (WC: 515)
First Instance of Magic

Ammon's first instance of magic was rather average, he was 3 years and 6 months of age when his first instance of magic officially occured. He was playing the piano (he was quite young when he started to play so his skill was no more than a poor rendition of Mary had a Little Lamb at this time) when a loud noise caused by his older brother Giddeon had startled him and Aamon let out a shriek. The shriek caused the piano to split in half.

The incident was easily noticed and resulted in a grand reception by the tutor that was overseeing his lesson. It was one of the few days he ever saw his biological parents together in the same room and this remains a fond, core memory.
