2023, Stage 2 Slytherin vs Ravenclaw: Match 9

While her body struggled, she still managed to dodge the wind jinx sent to her by Callie, and thankfully so did Ileen. However, her mind was rapier sharp as she focused on where her target should be based on her voice. Getting Callie out was her priority; she was a threat being able to cast the way she was, and as she threw her Flipendo, it was hoped to hear a thud soon after. Thankfully that is exactly what she heard as Thomas’s Flipendo zoomed past Ileen. As Jake called for a halt, it was an excellent time to catch her breath and regroup. With a glance at Ileen and a slight nod, she knew their next steps.

The pain of the small flames eating on her clothes and licking at her skin was close to being unbearable. The young Slytherin knew she wouldn’t stand much longer if she let them torture her so instead of dealing with their opponents, covered and secure with the fog, she decided to put them out.
As the gust extinguished the bigger flames, a cold relief ran through her body. The one that was still remaining at her leg was small enough to power through.
And just in time she focused back on the match. Not only one but two spells were thrown at the two girls that just now regrouped. Incredibly thankful for her decision to give them cover, Ileen ducked out of the way almost simultaneously with Santario.

And then two flipendos were released. Ileen barely made it out of the way of the next attack and had almost now time to admire her partner's aim. Judging by the sound she had found her mark.

As Jake asked them to stop, Ileen used the opportunity to dry her hand on her robe. The fire, the pain and the tension had made them a little bit sweaty.
Trying to catch a deep breath she returned Santarios nod and added a smile. I am fine.
Then her dark eyes wandered back to the other side of the stage. She couldn’t see it but knew that Callie was carried from the stage. A first seemed to reach around her stomach and squeeze it. Even after all this time Ileen couldn’t really deal with being part of sending people to the ground.

With his partner sent to the ground, Thomas let out a groan of irritation. This duel was about to become annoying, and rapidly so. The Ravenclaw had developed a certain degree of disdain for these 2v1 duels, believing the exercise in futility to generally be worth very little.

"Bluuuuuuuh, why’d you have to pass out?" Thomas complained to his unconscious partner as she was carried away. Oh well, certainly his situation could be worse, at least he was in perfect help for now excepting the fog.

Jake didn't think it was fair, the way Thomas complained about his partner passing out. It wasn't like Callie had done it on PURPOSE. On the OTHER hand, Jake couldn't really blame Thomas for being upset, realizing he was face to face with two fired-up Slytherins (No pun intended...really!)

The Slytherins would take the opportunity to regroup, as Thomas tried to jump onto his chance to attack Ileen who had taken the most damage of the two. Unfortunately for the Ravenclaw boy, Ileen was able to get out of the way, and then both San and Ileen turned their wands on Ileen.

It made sense, Jake thought. If they were going to be fighting alone, they needed to keep the two-on-one advantage. But what he DIDN'T expect was what happened as Santario pointed her wand at Ileen. Unfortunately for the Slytherins, her wand would spark, and instead of a surge of energy, Ileen would feel a quick pain. Luckily, Ileen was quite a good healer herself, and as she gave herself a bit of strength back, the fire on her robes would go out. Ileen had gotten some of her energy back, but probably not as much as the girls had hoped for.

Jake looked up nervously at Thomas, who was now going to be facing both Slytherins at once. Sure, he knew the Slytherins better than the Ravenclaws, but when somebody was in a two-on-one situation, Jake always sort of rooted for the one to not be hurt. Still, Thomas hadn't been hit yet, and both Slytherins had gone through a lot. Maybe he'd be ok after all?

Her wand at the ready. the young Slytherin girl squinted her eyes as she heard the voice coming from the fog. Assuming she would be the target she summoned all of her remaining strength and prepared herself for the incoming attack. Bouncing on the balls of her feet it was easy for her to sidestep the flipendo.
Her vision briefly blurred and Ileen stumbled a bit to the side, fighting with the huge amount of energy that had been taken from her, drained by the pain and hit she had taken. Time to take care of that.
The flames on her leg finally died without her doing anything but she knew that she had to heal herself or this would turn into a one vs. one duel rather quickly.
Santario seemed to have the same opinion about that matter and rushed to her help. But something felt off when the fellow healer intern raised her wand.
Ileen winced as some sparks jumped from it on her skin and instead of the awaited relief she felt a short pain.
Her own wand was already placed on her arm as well though and after speaking the spell, she felt much better. With a smile to her partner, she gave the girl a nod. She was alright. She would be fine.

Santario frowned even before the incantationleft her lips. It was insanely rare that she fumble a healing spell especially on someone else; however, she did just that. This would result in causing Ileen pain instead of help. This alone was enough to rekindle the never ending war in her mind. Flashbacks to when she was a changling and all the times she failed her friends reeled behind her eyes. Outwardly it simply looked as if she had spaced out looking across the piste. "Sorry, still wobbly I guess." She muttered as her grip tightened on her wand.

The Slytherins re-grouped - luckily they understood that mistakes happened and Ileen didn't get mad or anything when Santario accidentally hurt her. It was too bad for Thomas though. The Slytherins fighting amongst themselves was just about all that would save him at that point, Jake thought.

Also unfortunately for Thomas, it didn't stop Santario at all. Her eyes turned back to Thomas. Ileen was still hurting - she MUST have been, because she turned her wand on herself again, trying to give herself more energy as the duel went closer and closer to the end. What had started off as a dizzying array of spells and fires, had slowed down to a halt. Jake felt the tension in the air as Thomas prepared for his final stand, and as the Slytherins prepared for the final attack. And they did so in one of the worst ways too....because as Thomas looked at the threat ahead of him, perhaps the momentary hesitation would cost him as Santario would hit him with a perfectly placed disarming charm that would send his wand clattering onto the platform. The littlest pause could be death in a duel.

So as Ileen steadied herself and restored her energy, Thomas was wandless, staring at two Slytherin's who were doubtlessly ready to go for the kill. Jake bit his lip as he watched the duelists and wondered what was about to happen next. Thomas was nimble, he almost never got hit, but could he ward off a Slytherin assault, without even a wand in hand?

Ileen felt how they really turned the page. Her own energy shot into her body, she felt the strength returning to her muscles and limbs and the shaking in her hand finally stopped. Taking a deep breath of relief she shot a smile to her partner who was busy covering her with astonishing accuracy. Santario‘s spell found it’s mark and twirled the wand from the Ravenclaw‘s hand. The boy though didn’t do anything. Had he already given up? Ileen couldn’t blame him. Her gaze traced to the spot where there girl would have been. This was a bitter feeling.
