Hello, Cassie & Rita. They're not quite Prefect badges, but they are site mentor badges. We do have prefects without the insignia who are not site mentors yet. I could be mistaken, but I don't believe prefects have any sort of badges. Because some non-staff users they serve as mentors in the site's mentoring programme, it reflects even on Discord.

Unfortunately, no. There are some of our prefects who do not have it; nevertheless, it is only for those who serve as site mentors in addition to their roles as prefects.

Hello, former prefect here. I’m one of those non-prefect users with a prefect badge in my inventory, and it’s because I used to be a prefect. The item description kind of cements that because it says ‘Because you belonged to the elite’. I’d assume this is also the case for quite a few non-prefect users with a prefect badge in their character inventory (if that’s what you were asking).

No, it doesn’t. It’s mostly symbolic while you’re on the team, and symbolic as well as memorable once you’re not (like me and other former prefects).
