FAQ — Questions
Can I still post in stuff like the Sorting Ceremony? I kind of forgot to post there when I first joined but would like to add it to Beatrice's arrival at Hogwarts so I can "complete" it (the arrival).

My OOC reason was wanting to have the full experience after only being able to play Lily’s first year for a month, but that reason wouldn’t make any sense at all IC. I’m just looking for a few examples so that I know what would be accepted and so that I can clarify why Lily’s birthdate would make her a second year if I was asked. Thank you! Some examples will include parents pulling them out (e.g. for safety reasons) and death of an immediate family member, usually either parent.
I want to mention that Noah was pulled out in second year, in October?? and reinstated into the school by-- what was it- March?
He was pulled out because of an alleged threat by @Nicholas McCowan in the Gryffindor boys dormitory- where Nicholas *said* that he would throw Noah into the wall- but didn't do anything, neither did Alan because no action was taken. But his parents heard about it and pulled him out- as well as his twin- Billy. Billy was pulled out due to misbehavior. BUT- they were allowed to return as long as they behave and the threat didn't happen again.
Noah was pulled out a second time due to a similar reason- and so has Billy.

That and big stories like that you plan to rp in the future. Those need to be reregistered too.Edward Foxe wrote: 28 Dec 2022, 11:33 Okay, thank you very much. I think I get the gist. As long as it does not change the general idea of the history, it seems fine. Thanks!

Opeila Winters wrote: 28 Dec 2022, 09:18This is incorrect. When you stay back for a year, your interactions from your first y1 don't get retconned, that would be very unfair to everyone you rped with.HOWEVER.
By staying a first year, that means that your first year would be September 1st.
That also implies that everything you did between June 1st-June 30th would not have happened.
Instead you will have to come up with a reason IC as to why you are not graduating.
Oh, really? I was told that was what happened when I asked the question awhile back...
I don't remember now who it was that told me this but I do remember asking and getting this answer. So, I've been thinking that was how it was all this time.

One example would be your character discovering that they aren't actually muggleborn but are from a pureblood family but was adopted as a baby. If your character finds out something that goes against their original backstory, that would require reregistering.Edward Foxe wrote: 28 Dec 2022, 13:26Do you have examples of 'big stories', which count as such?Opeila Winters wrote: 28 Dec 2022, 12:49That and big stories like that you plan to rp in the future.
